RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1(46) –THE SATINELLO TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 13
At the request of Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed, VA BENE was examined at 1030 hours on 22/11/2019 and found to be tied up, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
DIVINE TIMING (Amyn Merchant) was brought to the paddock sporting an Apple Bit without obtaining prior permission for the same. As such Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy has been fined Rs.1,000/-.
NORTHERN SINGER (App. K. Nazil) took a fly jump.
At the start, DIVINE TIMING (Amyn Merchant, dr.8) jumped inwards and went across NORTHERN SINGER (App. K. Nazil, dr.7) who was marginally slow to begin.
From the 400 metres onwards, LUMINOSITY (Hanumant Singh) was observed to have maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing SUMMER AIR (S. Zervan) on more than one occasion. After questioning, Jockey Hanumant Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 100 metres, PERFECT SHINING (N. S. Parmar) shifted out and bumped NORTHERN SINGER (App. K. Nazil). On being questioned after the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount had shied not giving him sufficient time to react. In view of this behavior, Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, NORTHERN SINGER was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, DIVINE TIMING was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, GOD’S DECREE was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(47) – THE P.M.RUNGTA GOLDEN SPRINT STAKES: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 7
CASTILIAN (P. Trevor) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.
At the start, EN SABAH NUR (Dashrath Singh, dr. 4) jumped inwards and went on to ARC SHINE (App. A. Prakash, dr. 3) who had to be steadied.
After the race, SAFDAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, HEADWAY was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(48) – THE GULAMHUSEIN ESSAJI TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 11
At the start, DUMAS (S. Zervan, dr.5) jumped outwards and made contact with MISHKA’S PRIDE (C. S. Jodha, dr.6).
Approaching the 200 metres, DUMAS (S. Zervan) shifted out and at the same time GALLOPING GOLDMINE (David Egan) leaned inwards, due to which TUDOR HALL (A. Sandesh) had to be checked and change course.
In the final stages of the race, Jockey S. Zervan (DUMAS) was observed to have put his hands down thereby losing a certain second place. Jockey S. Zervan has been suspended for two race days i.e. from 16th to 18th January, 2020 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
After the race, TUDOR HALL was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern.
RACE NO.4(49) – THE RANJIT V. BHAT MEMORIAL GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres –Runners- 6
Turning for home, PURE ZINC (Santosh G.) shifted out and carried FLYING VISIT (A. Sandesh) outwards. After questioning Jockey Santosh G. and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, App. Malam Singh (IN IT TO WIN IT) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ROBERTA, IN IT TO WIN IT and PURE ZINC were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(50) – THE FAIZ JASDANWALLA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 13
Passing the 400 metres, BIRKIN BLOWER (S. Zervan) shifted out thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which EXOTIQUE (Leigh Roche), MELISANDRE (P. Trevor), ZAEIM (C. S. Jodha) & SKY FALL (Nathan Evans) were forced outwards and SKY FALL was bumped and had to be checked. After the race it was pointed out to Jockey S. Zervan that despite his mount being inclined outwards, he had persisted with the use of whip from the right thereby causing the interference. In view of the above, Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
After the race, TAIMUR was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(51) – THE VILLOO POONAWALLA INDIAN 2000 GUINEAS (GR.1): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 10
ROYAL CRYSTAL (Suraj Narredu) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 600 metres, due to a tightly packed field, SULTAN SULEIMAN (A. Sandesh) had to be steadied, due to which VICTORIOUS SERMON (Colm O’ Donoghue) who was racing directly behind him, had to be checked and steadied.
Passing the 500 metres, MYSTIC BAY (Nathan Evans) leaned inwards due to which SULTAN SULEIMAN (A. Sandesh) had to be steadied.
Passing the 350 metres, MALWA (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out under the use of the whip and went across MYSTIC BAY (Nathan Evans) forcing it to be steadied. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs. 2,000/-
Jockey Suraj Narredu (ROYAL CRYSTAL) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2019/20, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, SULTAN SULEIMAN was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(52) – THE SIMPLY NOBLE TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 14
NATIVE PRINCE (S. S. Baria) planted in the stall and lost considerable ground at the start. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in his previous start, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and show his charge in 2 Mock Races to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting with him to race.
ANTARCTICA (Bhawani Singh) was observed to have drifted out despite the Jockey’s efforts. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Passing the 500 metres, HIGHLAD WOODS (App. M. Ayyar) shifted out due to which FIRE FLAME (N. B. Kuldeep) had to be steadied, as a result of which, FELEX FELICIS (Akshay Gaikwad) who was racing on the haunches of FIRE FLAME, clipped the latter and went down along with the rider. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident.
Approaching the 200 metres, MACGYVER (App. K. Nazirl) shifted in and went across WESTERN STYLE (N.S.Parmar) causing it to be checked. App. K. Nazil has been cautioned.
After the race, MAJESTICAL and ROYAL ACE were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, FELIX FELICIS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 5th and 7th race viz. DEL MAR, AIR BLAST and ANTARCTICA, and the Urine and Blood Samples of TROUVAILLE, ALEXIE and KNIGHT TEMPLAR (Winner , Second Placed & Third Placed – 6th race), and the special sample of HEADWAY (2nd race) and ROBERTA (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
