RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT

On a request from Trainer CD Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charge RECKLESS in the 10^th race, at his (Trainer CD Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(83) – THE BEAUTIFUL STRANGER TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 4

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (SCALANAYA) has been fined Rs 1000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, TARA and SCALANAYA were found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(84) –THE JACQUELINE CUP: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 6 – NO REPORT

RACE NO.3(85) – THE NAWABZADA RASHIDUZZAFAR KHAN TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 7

ANTONIUS MAXIMUS (S.John) stumbled at the start.

Near 600 metres, THE MINISTERIAN (Fr’ Co F Dasilva) shifted in and went on to ANTONIUS MAXIMUS (S John) who was steadied. Jockey Fr’ Co F Dasilva has been cautioned.

ISADORO (S Zervan) was inclined to lug-out in the straight and near 400 metres inconvenienced INVICTUS (Imran Chisty). Trainer S S Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

Jockey SK Jadhav (MOUNTAIN FORCE) has been fined Rs 1000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Further, he has been fined a sum of Rs 1000/- for improper use of his whip wherein he has used whip on the shoulder of his mount in a forehand position.

THE MINISTERIAN (Fr’ Co F Dasilva) ran erratic in the straight.

After the race, STRATEGIC CHANGE was found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(86) – THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 10

At the start, ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh) shifted out and caused ANALEAH (S Zervan) to shift out, who in turn caused IL MORAN (S Sunil) to shift out who was steadied as the gelding was placed awkwardly behind the heels of GATES OF HEAVEN (Amyn Merchant) and steadied.

Passing 1000 metres QUEST FOR LOVE (S P Ranjane) shifted in causing GATES OF HEAVEN (Amyn Merchant) to shift in, due to which AMARA (Akshay) shifted in and inconvenienced ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh). Jockey S.P.Ranjane has been cautioned.

Passing 600 metres, ORIENTAL ROCKY (Kavraj Singh) maneuvered around AMARA (Akshay) and made contact with GATES OF HEAVEN (Amyn Merchant) who in turn forced INDIAN TOUCH (Fr’co F Dasilva) outwards. Jockey Kavraj Singh has been cautioned.

LORELIE (App B Nikhil) lugged-in in the straight and near 300 metres, went across HAIL THE KING (J Pradeep). Trainer Nina M Lalvani has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

After the race, LORELEI and IL MORAN were found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(87) – THE ALLAH RAKHKHA GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9 – NO REPORT

RACE NO.6(88) – THE RADHEYSHYAM JHUNJHUNWALA MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

RAJASTHAN ROYALS (Kavraj Singh) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

RACE NO.7(89) – THE DELTIN CASINOS INDIAN 2000 GUINEAS (GR.1) : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 8

After being stalled it was observed that the buckle of the bridle on SCENIC WARRIOR (Fr’Co F.Dasilva) had come off and the same was readjusted. Also, on start, SCENIC WARRIOR planted and thereafter veered to the outside.

SILVER ARROW (P.Trevor) played up and got cast under the stall. The gates were opened and the horse was pulled out and as recommend by the Club’s V.O. he was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainers S.Ganapathy and P.Shroff have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

SCENIC WARRIOR (Fr’ Co F Dasilva) drifted outwards at the start, losing considerable ground and then trailed the field. Trainer S Ganapathy has been asked to show his gelding in the mock race to the satisfaction of Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race.

DYNAMO (Imran Chisty) was placed fifth and SILVER STREAK (Beuzelin Louis) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

RACE NO.8(90) – THE G.ESSAJI TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 11

On the way to the start, SUPERTRAMP (Suraj Narredu) dislodged the rider and bolted. After consent from the trainer, the gelding was withdrawn from the race Trainer M.Narredu and he has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting with his charge. Further, the gelding was examined after the race and found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Jockey S Sunil (RUBENS) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence with regard to the breach of rule regarding use of the whip, the Stipendiary Stewards have suspended his Jockey’s license w.e.f 9^th January 2014 to 16^th January 2014 (both days included) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, MALKIA, MONTE CARLO and INFALLIBLE were found to be sound.

RACE NO.9(91) – THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 18

The Club’s V.O. reported that WIND OF THE HILLS (App.Sandeep Jadhav) was examined on arrival at the Starting Gate and found to be sore from the right fore leg. Also, the filly had a swelling on the right hind cannon with injury mark on the right hind cannon, on the inside, upper area. As such, the filly was certified her unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

STAR PRINCE (Vikram Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, SUNTAN BEAUTY (App B Nikhil, dr.12) ducked-in and went on to MOUNTAIN WARRIOR (Hanumant Singh, dr.11).

Jockey J Pradeep (REACH THE STARS) reported that his mount hung outwards during the race and in trying to control his mount, the bit slipped to the right side and he could not ride out his mount in the race. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, MOUNTAIN WARRIOR and AMAYA were found to be sound.

RACE NO.10(92) – THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 20

At the start, MOUNTAIN WIND (App.S G Prasad) jumped out awkwardly whereby the Jockey lost his balance which he regained shortly.

Near 400 metres, LA TRAVIATA (App Sandeep Jadhav) shifted in and carried MOUNTAIN WIND (App SG Prasad) inwards, who in turn caused DANCING SPLENDOUR (P Trevor) inward. App Sandep Jadhav has been cautioned.

Jockey Dashrath Singh (YOU’RE THE BOSS) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

After the race, ALBUURZ and LA TRAVIATA were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st, 2^nd, 4^th, 5^th, 6^th, 7^th and 8^th race viz. BLUE SWALLOW, HAWAIIAN PRINCESS, INDIAN TOUCH, SOLOMON, STORM TRACKER, MURIOI and GLORIOUS REWARD, as also that of RAJASTHAN ROYALS and AMADEUS (6^th race) and ALAINDAIR, MARIINSKY and FALCON (7^th race), and the special sample of ANALEAH (4^th race), WINSTON (6^th race) and RECKLESS (10^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : RACE NO.67 – THE RANJIT V.BHAT MEMORIAL GOLD CUP RUN ON 15^TH DECEMBER, 2013 – JOCKEY SURAJ NARREDU, RIDER OF “MANYATTA” – CARELESS RIDING :

Jockey Suraj Narredu was interviewed by the Stipendiary Stewards on 22^nd December, 2013 for careless riding on his mount MANYATTA and having heard him as also Jockey P.Trevor (PAPAKURA) and Jockey S.Zervan (SCARLET PIMPERNEL and having viewed the video recording of the race, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Suraj Narredu and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.20,000/- for careless riding. In that, near 300 metres, MANYATTA (Suraj Narredu) shifted out, forcing his way through, in the process forced PAPAKURA (P.Trevor) behind SCARLET PIMPERNEL (S.Zervan) whereby Jockey P.Trevor had to take evasive action to avoid clipping the heels of SCARLET PIMPERNEL

The Stipendiary Stewards were also not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey S.Zervan and fined him a sum of Rs.5,000/- for failing to keep proper control over his mount wherein he had also shifted in forcing PAPAKURA (P.Trevor) to shift in at that stage.

RE : STEWARDS ENQUIRY IN RACE NO.62 – THE RAO SAHEB D.K.PARKER TROPHY RUN ON 12^TH DECEMBER, 2013 – JOCKEY KAVRAJ SINGH, RIDER OF “INVINCIBLE” – CARELESS RIDING :

Jockey Kavraj Singh was interviewed by the Stipendiary Stewards on 23^rd December, 2013 for careless riding on his mount INVINCIBLE in Race No.62 and having heard him and having viewed the video recording, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 9^th January, 2014 for careless riding. In that, he shifted in near 800 metres on to QUICK FIRE (J.Fortune) who in turn shifted in and tightened FONTANELLE (Malcolm Kharadi), whereby both the horses were unbalanced and had to be checked by their respective riders. (Permitted to ride work/mock race)

RE : INTERFERENCE CAUSED BY “SOMBRERO” (APP.S.MOSIN) IN RACE NO.64 – THE AU PANACHE PLATE RUN ON 12^TH DECEMBER, 2013 :

Apprentice S.Mosin and his Master, Mr.Kartik G. were interviewed by the Stipendiary Stewards on 23^rd December, 2013 for careless riding on his mount SOMBRERO in Race No.64 and having heard them and having viewed the video recording, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App.S.Mosin and decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s license for 9^th January, 2014 for careless riding. In that, passing 1000 metres, he shifted in which caused a chain reaction wherein DREAM WEAVER (Altaf Sayyed) went on to NICANOR (Amyn Merchant) who went on to SAMAY BALWAN (N.S.Parmar) who in turn shifted in and caused interference to STOLEN RELIC (T.Mahesh). Further, he was cautioned to be more careful in the future.
