RACE DAY REPORTS

 

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ABOUT 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1600 METRES TILL 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER ABOUT 6 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED ABOUT 6 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge GRAND DESIGN in the 2nd race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, permission was granted to Trainer S.Mangalorkar to saddle his charges CYPRESS POINT (2nd race), MERCK (5th race),SEVEN SEAS (7th race) & LIGHTENING THUNDER (9th race) at his (Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(152) - THE ENAKSI PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P.Trevor, rider of FANTASTIC KINGDOM (Placed Fourth) against DANCING MONEY (App.Sandeep Jadhav, Placed Third). The reason being, near 900 metres, DANCING MONEY, who was racing on  his inside, shifted out and tightened him, due to which he lost his position and had to come from the wide outside, which cost him the third place.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection and forfeit the deposit.

 

Passing 600 metres, FANTASTIC KINGDOM (P.Trevor) became unbalanced.

 

While straightening for home, FANTASTIC KINGDOM (P.Trevor) shifted out to progress in the race and carried STRIKING GIRL (Shrikant Kamble) outwards and later went across the latter and also carried MALADA SUN (Vkram Jodha) outwards. Jockey P.Trevor has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

After the race, SECRETIVE and FANTASTIC KINGDOM were observed to have broken a blood vessel. Also, SECRETIVE was observed to have lost its right hind plate and FANTASTIC KINGDOM had a cut injury at the right fore cannon. Both the horses are not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BLITZING was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HERZELIYAH was observed to have an injury at the upper gum.

 

RACE NO.2(153) - THE JAIDEV PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 4 Runners

 

CYPRESS POINT (P.Trevor) took an awkward fly jump resulting in the Jockey being temporarily unbalanced due to which the filly lost considerable ground. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures with ;his charge.

 

After the race, the saddle on CYPRESS POINT was observed to have slipped back. Since the filly began awkwardly which may have contributed to the saddle shifting, no action has been initiated against the Trainer.     

 

After the race, SHERIFF was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(154) - THE MYSORE RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – 2 Runners

 

Trainer Dallas Todywalla and Jockey A.Sandesh were questioned regarding the running and riding of CLARION CALL. The instructions were to sit behind since the gelding was carrying 59 kg and to do his best in the straight. The Trainer added that he had employed similar tactics earlier but on that occasion the gelding had broken a blood vessel. The Trainer was satisfied with the Jockey’s riding. The Jockey stated that he wanted to sit with the horse. To another question as to why had he not taken up the running in the back stretch when the pace became too slow, the jockey re-iterated that he wanted sit. The explanation was noted.

 

After the race, CLARION CALL was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(155) - THE FLAMING ACE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the start, AFLAME (App.Nikhil Bhujbal) ducked outwards and went on to HELEN (D.K.Ashish) who had also shifted in after jump out. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to race the filly. 

 

Approaching 600 metres, ROYAL HONOUR (Shammi Khan) was hampered for a run due to tightly packed field.

 

Jockey Shammi Khan (ROYAL HONOUR) has been reprimanded for indifferent handling of his mount.

 

RACE NO.5(156) - THE CZAR ALEXANDER PLATE (DIV.II):  (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

The entry of ANGEL’S KISS, who was ineligible to run as per the conditions of the race, was erroneously accepted and therefore the filly was not permitted to race.

 

After the race, MERCK was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6(157) - THE PROTEUS PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – 8 Runners

 

Approaching 800 metres, REMNISCING (A.Sandesh) shifted out and carried TIPPING POINT (K.P.G.Appu) outwards. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Near 700 metres, REMNISCING (A.Sandesh) was tightened and lost position while racing between TIPPING POINT (K.P.G.Appu) and GLOWING MIST (C.S.Jodha).

 

Passing 600 metres, CAVALRYMAN (Dashrath Singh) shifted out, maneuvering around GLOWING MIST (C.S.Jodha) and made contact with REMNISCING (A.Sandesh). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

Near 300 metres, BLUE MELLON (S.Sunil) was ridden in check for a few strides while racing on the inside of SAVAGE GARDEN (P.Trevor).

 

Jockey S.Sunil (BLUE MELLON) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, TIPPING POINT was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. REMNISCING was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(158) - THE KONARK BUILDERS TURF CHALLENGE 2012: (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

At the start, TAG ALONG TOMMY (App.Nikhil Bhujbal, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to HALO OF FAME (Abhishek Habbu, dr.4).

 

SEVEN SEAS (Nirmal Jodha) hung-in in the straight. The Trainer has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

FLYING STAR (Vikram Jodha) lugged out during the race and passing 1000 metres drifted further outwards. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, DESTINED TO GLORY, EL CLASICO, SEVEN SEAS, FORWARD CHARGE and TAG ALONG TOMMY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(159) - THE CZAR ALEXANDER PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

WINDS OF CHANGE (Altaf Sayyed) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (EVEREADY) has been fined Rs.1000/- for improper use of the whip wherein he had allowed his mount to shift out in the final stages of the race. 

 

After the race, DASHING INDIAN was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind coronet, EVEREADY  had an abrasion at the left hind pastern and QUEEN OF VENUS had a cut injury at the left fore cannon.

 

RACE NO.9(160) - THE ENAKSI PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, FAJR (App.Prabhu Naidu, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to SAMBURU (R.K.Mahesh, dr.6).

 

Near 300 metres, SAMBURU (R.K.Mahesh) shifted in and hampered the running of TRUMP CARD (F.Irani). Jockey R.K.Mahesh has been fined Rs.1000/-.

 

Near 200 metres, GOTTAWEARSHADES (Akshay) weakened and dropped back, due to which SAMBURU (R.K.Mahesh) who was following, was hampered for a run and in turn hampered TRUMP CARD (F.Irani).

 

After the race, TAJ E SHAHI, SAMBURI, GOTTAWEARSHADES, MONEY STRIKE and VENEZIANO (examined on 23/09/2012) wer found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 8th and 9th race, viz. MOUNTAIN LION, QUEEN OF VENUS & BAYBLUES, and the special sample of SECRETIVE & FANTASTIC KINGDOM (1st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : INTERFERENCE CAUSED TO “HILLS AND STARS” (A.SANDESH) IN RACE NO.140 – THE IDAR GOLD TROPHY (GR.3) RUN ON SATURDAY, 15TH SEPTEMBER, 2012:

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 22nd September, 2012 having reviewed the above race, held the view that the interference caused to HILLS AND STARS was accidental and as such, no action was called for in the matter.

RE : APP.SHRIKANT KAMBLE, RIDER OF “CHINGARI” – REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR CARELESS RIDING IN RACE NO.151 – THE GLENSANDA PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON SUNDAY, 16TH SEPTEMBER, 2012 :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that soon after the start, CHINGARI (Shrikant Kamble) shifted in and went across UNKNOWN REBEL (C.S.Jodha) who, while being steadied, dropped back on to ZANTHOS (P.Trevor), who in turn went on to JENS SECRET (S.K.Jadhav). CHINGARI further shifted in and took the running of SEIG FRIED (A.M.Tograllu) who clipped the hind heels of the former and stumbled and as SEIG FRIED dropped back, it hampered the running of SEEKING GLORY (Imran Chisty), who in turn dropped out on to UNKNOWN REBEL. Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been reported to the Stewards for Careless riding.

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturdary, 22nd September, 2012 interviewed Apprentice Shrikant Kamble in the above connection and having heard him and having viewed the video recording of the race, held him guilty of careless riding on his mount CHINGARI.  However, considering that the Jockey had admitted his guilt and apologized for the same, the Stewards took a lenient view and decided to suspend his Apprentice Jockey’s license w.e.f. 7th October, 2012 to 13th October, 2012 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race) for careless riding.
