RACE DAY REPORT
RAILS WERE PLACED FROM IT'S ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 3 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM IT'S ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer James E. Mckeown, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi to saddle his charge SIMOLA in the 5th race, at his own (Trainer James E. Mckeown’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1 (167) – THE DOPAHAR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6
At the start, ENFORCER (Yash Narredu, dr.2) jumped outwards onto CHELSEA (Dashrath Singh, dr.3) who in turn leaned outwards, at the same time ENSKY (C. Umesh, dr.4) leaned in and they made contact, thereafter STORM CLOUD (A. Sandesh, dr.5) shifted in thereby tightening ENSKY racing on its haunches causing the latter to be checked.
After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:
VILLANELLE was observed to have broken a blood vessel (2nd time) and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
ENSKY was trotted at the stables on 23rd March 2026 and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (168) – THE HOMI MEHTA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 4
At the start, EXUMA (N. S. Parmar, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with KIMIKO (P. Trevor, dr.2).
After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:
EXUMA was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 (169) – THE M. H. AHMEDBHOY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
GOLD BAR (Shrikant Kamble, dr.5) was reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
ASKARI (S. Zervan, dr.4) lost about a length at the start.
At the start, LORD AND MASTER (S. Mosin, dr.2) jumped inwards and went across JURACAN (Akshay Kumar, dr.1) who was marginally slow to begin
Soon after the start, GOLD BAR (Shrikant Kamble) shifted out, at the same time FLOYD (T. S. Jodha) shifted in and they made contact due to the incident EKATARINA (Neeraj Rawal) racing between them was tightened and had to be steadied.
Passing the 400 metres, GIANT GOLD (Yash Narredu) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing GOLD BAR (Shrikant Kamble) outwards at the same time TAJIRI (P. Trevor) shifted in under urgings and went across HAGIBIS (S. A. Amit) and GOLD BAR causing both horses to be checked. After questioning all concerned Jockey’s Yash Narredu and P. Trevor have been fined Rs.3,000/- each.
After the race, the V.O. reported the following:

ASKARI was examined by the Club’s Chief V.O. on 23rd March 2026 at the equine hospital and was found to be sore by left fore. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.4 (170) – THE SETH RAMNATH DAGA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 5
SHUBANKAR (Bhawani Singh, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly and lost about two lengths at the start.
MOJITO (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.4) jumped outwards and made contact with MARKET KING (Yash Narredu, dr.5) causing the latter to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (MARKET KING) reported that his reins slipped momentarily in the final stages of the race. This being the first instance in the current Mumbai meeting 2025-26 , he is being cautioned.
RACE NO.5 (171) – THE TRUEFITT & HILL ROYAL HERITAGE CUP: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
SPEAK THE BREED (Akshay Kumar, dr.11) lost about four lengths at the start. As such, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
LEO THE LION (App. N. Bhosale, dr.2) lost about two lengths at the start.
At the start, WONDERLAND (Amyn Merchant, dr.7) jumped inwards and wet across MADISON (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) who was marginally slow to begin.
After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (LIGHTNING BLAZE) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently. The mare was subject to veterinary examination and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 (172) – THE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12
After being stalled, ESTEBAN (J. Chinoy, dr.6) ducked underneath the front gate and got stuck, subsequently, the gelding was removed and withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, MEDUSA (P. Trevor, dr.8) jumped inwards and went across PRECIOSO (App. A. Omkar, dr.7) who was slow to begin.
At the start, HEAVEAN’S RHYTHM (Yash Narredu, dr.3) jumped outwards and made contact with MOONLIGHT KISS (App. N. Bhosale, dr.4).
Approaching the 400 metres MAJESTIC WARRIOR (Aditya Waydande) racing between MULAN (Neeraj Rawal) and MOONLIGHT KISS (App. N. Bhosale ) was held up for room and had to be steadied.
Passing the 350 metres, HEAVYN’S RYTHYM (Yash Narredu ) shifted in and went across DANCING CLOUD (N.S Parmar) who had to check and change course , due to which MOONLIGHT KISS ( N. Bhosale ) racing on its haunches had to be checked and KAJO (S.J Sunil ) got inconvenienced . Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned
After the race, the Chief V.O. reported the following:
At about 400 metres, MEDUSA (P. Trevor) was observed have stopped galloping and collapsed thereby dislodging its rider on subsequently, veterinary examination the mare was found to have a cardiac arrest due to which she collapsed.
APPALACHIAN was observed to have lost its left hind shoe and an injury on its left hind toe area.
ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS and MULAN were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd & 6th race, viz. GOLDEN DANCER, TAJIRI & HEAVEN’S RHYTHM, were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
