RACE DAY REPORTS

THE RACES WERE DELAYED BY HALF AN HOUR  AND  THE FIRST  RACE  COMMENCED  AT   2.00  P.M.

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

On a request from Trainer J.S.Dhariwal, permission was granted to Trainer Nina M.Lalvani to saddle his charge ARISTOS in the 6th race,  at his (Trainer J.S.Dhariwal’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer S Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer M Narredu to saddle his charge SPRINT STAR in the 6th race, at his (Trainer S Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer CD Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges STAR OF VENUS and MOON STAR in the 5th and 7th race respectively, at his (Trainer CD Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Bezan Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer NB Chenoy to saddle his charge ARES in the 4th race, at his (Trainer Bezan Chenoy’s) risk and responsibility.

 

RACE NO.1 (17) - THE  GRAND PASSION PLATE :   (About) 1200 Metres, Runners – 7

At the start, APPALINA (Shrikant Kamble) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and tightened DREAM TO LEAD (Towfeeq R Shaikh) who in turn made contact with GAMBA (S.Sunil). Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount..

In the final 200 metres, TZIGANE (Vikram Jodha) shifted ground inwards under the use of the whip and inconvenienced APPALINA (Shrikant Kamble). Jockey Vikram Jodha has been fined Rs. 2000/- for improper use of the whip.

After the race, SAFFRON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race, FORTUNER was observed to be trotting sore due to a cut injury on the right hind tendon. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, STEELY DAN was found to be sound.

RACE NO.2 (18)  - THE SIR H.M.MEHTA TROPHY:   (About) 1600 Metres, Runners - 4

On questioning, Jockey Dashrath Singh (SHOWSTOPPER) stated that his mount was very keen after the start and APACHE INDIAN was in front whereby he was unable to control his mount. Further, the filly held on to the bit and he found it difficult to control her and his mount travelled wide. Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned for travelling wide while negotiating the bend.

After the race, SU CHALIYO was observed to have an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks.

 

RACE NO.3 (19) – THE SHANTIDAS ASKURAN TROPHY :(About) 1000 Metres - Runners - 6

 

Soon on entering the straight, DEAR LIZA (T.S.Jodha) shifted in and hampered the running of LAGO MEDIO (S.Sunil). Jockey T.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

HIGHLAND FLAME (C. Rajendra) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

After the race,  DEAR LIZA and HIGHLAND FLAME were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (20) – THE SETH RAMNATH DAGA ATROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres, Runners - 4

 

App.A.Sandesh (EL TROPICO) has been fined Rs.1000/- for improper use of the whip wherein he has persisted with the use of whip and aggravated the outward shift of his mount.

RACE NO.5  (21) – THE JOSS GOURMET SPRINT:  (About) 1200 Metres,  Runners - 8

 

BRUNELLO (Malcolm Kharadi) lost 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey Towfeeq R Shaikh (SET AFIRE) has been fined Rs.1000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

After the race, SET AFIRE was observed to have lost its left fore plate. ANGELS PURSUIT was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (22) – THE A.C.ARDESHIR TROPHY (GR.3):  (About) 1600 Metres, Runners - 7

 

Trainer S Narredu (SPRINT STAR) has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to produce the registered colours in respect of his charge SPRINT STAR. Trainer S Narredu had not provided the Deputizing Trainer with the registered colours.

Approaching 200 metres, DIEGO RIVERA (C.Rajendra) shifted in on to WEIZHOU (Dashrath Singh) who in turn shifted in and caused interference to JUVENTUS (S.A. De Sousa). Jockey C.Rajendra has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

After the race, CELESTIAL WAY was observed to have an abrasion at right hind fetlock, ARISTOS had an abrasion at left hind bulb of heel and  JUVENTUS was found to be sound, having an abrasion at right hind bulb of heel.

RACE NO.7 (23) – THE FORBES INDIA MILLION: (About) 1600 Metres -  Runners - 4

 

Jockeys David Allan (MOON STAR) and SA De Sousa (CAMACHO) have been fined Rs.1000/- each for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on their respective mounts. Further Jockey S.A. De Sousa has been cautioned for using the whip with excessive frequency.

After the race, ZAFAYONA was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.8 (24) – THE STAR ADMIRAL PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres -  Runners - 8

 

At the request of Trainer Subhag Singh, PARIS HILTON was examined at 1020 hours on 21/11/2010 and was found to have fever and was off-feed as such the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to obtain a fitness certificate from the Club’s VO before next accepting to race the mare. 

 

WELLS FARGO (N.S.Parmar) lost 2 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, MEDTIAS PRIDE (C.S.Jodha) .shifted out with the Rider making no effort to control the outward movement of his mount and went across ARABIAN EMPIRE (T.S.Jodha) causing the latter to be checked by its Rider. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs. 2000/ -for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

MEDTIAS PRIDE was inclined to lug out throughout the race. Trainer  Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, ASHWA PRAHAR  and MEDTIAS PRIDE were found to be sound.

The urine sample of winner of  1st, 4th, 6th & 7th race  viz.  TZIGANE, FOREST FLAIR, ARISTOS & MOON STAR as also that of CELESTIAL WAY & DIEGO RIVERA (6th race) and CAMACHO & STARDOM BOUND (7th race) and the special sample of STEELY DAN & SAFFRON (1st race) and JUVENTUS (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
