RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 1 METRE AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1000 METRES , 2 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 3 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 5.5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Aravind G. permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge PLAY SAFE in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer Aravind G.’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(94) –  THE MENORAH PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Trainer Zadmal Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/- for putting in late declaration in respect of his charge CLASSICUS.

 

At the start, NIGHTFALL (Neeraj Rawal dr.1) jumped outwards on to SYLVESTER (Santosh G. dr.2).

 

Passing the 600 metres, ADONIJAH (N. S. Parmar) who was racing between POWER OF THOR (A. Sandesh) and AURORA AUSTRALIS (Amyn Merchant) was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, ADONIJAH (N.S.Parmar) was held up for room and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, SYLVESTER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PILATUS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(95) –  THE B.PRAKASH TROPHY : (About) 2000 Metres – 9 Runners

 

GOSHAWK (N.S.Parmar) jumped out slow, losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

There was a dual declaration of Jockey Akshay Kumar by Trainer P.Shroff on WIZARD OF STOCKS and by Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait on JUSTIFIED. On questioning, Jockey Akshay Kumar said that he had confirmed the ride with Tr.P.Shroff. As such, Trainer P.Shroff was permitted to declare Jockey Akshay Kumar on WIZARD OF STOCKS and Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait declared Jockey Neeraj Rawal on JUSTIFIED.  In this connection, Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declarding a Jockey without confirming the ride.

 

After the race, WESTERN FRONT was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ARROWFIELD and WIZARD OF STOCKS had right eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, GDANSK was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.3(96) –  THE CHANGE OF LUCK PLATE  : (About) 1000 Metres –  11 Runners

 

On arrival at the start, TWINSPIRE (App.Raghuveer Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified the filly fit to race.

 

At the start, GABRIEL (Amyn Merchant) was observed to have jumped inwards and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 600 metres, CHEPHIRAH (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening CIPHER (Neeraj Rawal) along the rails. Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GALLOPING STAR had injuries to both eyes (sore eye, lacrimation) and STORM EAGLE had injuries to both eyes (sore eye, lacrimation, corneal ulcer in  the left eye).

 

After the race, PRINCESS AVIKA was observed to have a gum injury. DEL MAR (examined on 22/09/2019) was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(97) –  THE PUNE CITY GOLD CUP (GR.3) : (About) 1600 Metres – 5 Runners

 

GOVERNOR GENERAL (N.S.Parmar) took a fly jump thus losing about a length at the start.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that AWESOME ONE had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation).

 

After the race, AWESOME ONE and NEW ENGLAND were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(98) –  THE AMAZING GRACE PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

In the process of stalling, GODSWORD (C.S.Jodha) kicked the front gates. The filly was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, SACHERTORTE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) ducked inwards thereby bumping OFFICER IN COMMAND (App. D. R. Shubham, dr.2) causing the latter to lose ground. On being questioned after the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount had ducked in immediately after the start thus he did not have sufficient time to correct his mount..  As such, Trainer M.Narredu has asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Soon after the start, HIGHLAND WOODS (App. M. Ayyar, dr.7) shifted out and carried BELENUS (A. Sandesh, dr.8) outwards. After the race, App. M. Ayyar reported that his mount was inclined outwards and had to be steadied. Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Passing the 800 metres, HIGHLAND WOODS (App. M. Ayyar) shifted in and went across IMPROVISSO (Akshay) causing the latter to be checked. App. M. Ayyar has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 800 metres, CABELLERO (App. P. Vinod) shifted in thereby tightening CHOSEN ONE (App. A. S. Peter) along the rails who had to be checked and dropped back. After questioning App.P.Vinod and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs,2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, SACHERTORTE (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby inconveniencing IMPROVISSO (Akshay) causing the latter to be checked and change course, due to which OFFICER IN COMMAND (App. D. R. Shubham) was inconvenienced. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race, LOIRE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SACHERTORTE had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation).

 

After the race, SACHERTORTE and CABELLERO were trotted and found to be sound. SACHERTORTE had lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.6(99) –  THE  PENNYWISE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 15 Runners

 

GRAND EYES (App.S.A.Amit) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

On arrival at the start, Jockey Amyn Merchant (ARABIAN MUKTAR) reported that his saddle’s tree had broken, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order.

 

SOLO MISSION (App.A.Prakash) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start AME (A.Sandesh dr.1) jumped outwards on to CRAY CRAY (Akshay, dr.2).

 

Approaching the 300 metres, ANNIVERSARY GIRL (S.Sunil) shifted out under urgings and went across LILIBETH (App.K.Nazil) who had to be steadied. Jockey S.Sunil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, MANDRAKE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GRAND EYES had left eye injury (eye injury with slight opacity).

 

After the race, ADAMS BEGINNING, GRAND EYES and WABI SABI (examined on 22/09/2019) were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd and 6th race viz. AURORA AUSTRALIS, CIPHER and AME and the Urine and Blood Samples of LA RONDINE & BRONX (Winner & Second Placed – 4th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : APPEAL FROM TRAINER ADHIRAJSINGH JODHA IN RESPECT OF THE FINE OF RS.10,000/- IMPOSED ON HIM BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS – ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “IN IT TO WIN IT” (A.SANDESH) IN RACE NO.47 – THE RAJARAM CHHATRAPATI TROPHY (1800 METRES) RUN ON 24TH AUGUST, 2019  WHICH THE GELDING WON AS COMPARED TO HIS PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO.17 – THE J.E.HUGHES TROPHY (APP.D.R.SHUBHAM) (1400 METRES) – RUN ON 3RD AUGUST,  2019 WHERE HE WAS UNPLACED:

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 21st September, 2019 considered appeal dated 18th September, 2019 from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha in the above connection.

 

The Stewards of the Club considered all papers, documents and proceedings and having heard Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, having viewed the video recording of both the races and having deliberated the matter, decided to allow the appeal.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “FELIX FELICIS” (AMYN MERCHANT) IN RACE NO.75 – THE LAGO MEDIO PLATE (DIV.II) - RUN ON SATURDAY, 7TH SEPTEMBER, 2019

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Vijay Kasbekar and Jockey Amyn Merchant in the above connection.  Trainer Vijay Kasbekar said that he had instructed the Jockey to sit in 3rd/4th position and to do his best.  Jockey Amyn Merchant confirmed the instructions and added that soon after the start THEA O THEA (App.K.Nazil) had interfered with his horse. Also, his mount was leaning outward and he had behaved in a similar manner in the previous start. He said that he was again interfered with in the straight and the horse had a clip injury.

 

Trainer Vijay Kasbekar confirmed that the horse had returned with a tendon cut injury which had to be sutured.

 

Having heard the submissions made, viewing the video recording of the race and scrutinizing the betting sheets, the explanation tendered by the Trainer and Jockey was noted.

RE : MR.SHAIKH MOHD.HUSSAIN – REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB FOR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS THE OFFICIALS OF THE CLUB AND NOT CO-OPERATING WITH THEM WHILE THEY WERE CONDUCTING THEIR DUTIES :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 14th September, 2019 interviewed Mr.Shaikh Mohd. Hussain in reference to the captioned subject matter.

 

The Stewards of the Club having heard Mr.Shaikh Mohd. Hussain, the Chief Stipendiary Steward as also the Security-cum-Vigilance Officer of the Club, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Mr.Shaikh Mohd. Hussain and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/- for inappropriate behaviour towards the Officials of the Club who were carrying out their duties.

 

Further, he was requested to make himself available and co-operate in the enquiry to be conducted by the Stipendiary Stewards as and when requested.
