RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES WIDE FROM 2400 METRES TILL 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 4 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor to saddle his charge GOTTAWEARSHADES in the 9th race, at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(157) – THE ALEXANDRESS PLATE : (About) 2000 Metres – 4 Runners

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (HOLY BULL) reported loss of his whip near 50 metres from the Wining Post.

 

After the race, ZLATO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(158) – THE NATIONALISTIC PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 4 Runners

 

After the race, RUNNING SUN was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the left fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.3(159) – THE  ENAKSI PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

                                      

Approaching 1400 metres, ARABIAN FIGHTER (App.Prabhu Naidu) was tightened as LORELEI (P.Trevor) shifted in due to WINNING DESTINY (A.Sandesh) shifting in at that stage. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.  

 

After the race, TELL ME MORE and SOUND OF RIVER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(160) – THE SECRET MEMORY TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – 5 Runners

 

RAZEENAA (C.S.Jodha) was slow in the strides, losing about 3 lengths at the start

 

After the race, RAZEENAA was observed to have an upper gum injury.

 

RACE NO.5(161)  – THE INGLENOOK PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, TO THE MOON was examined at 0800 hours on 21/09/2013 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

After jump, ARABIAN CROWN (Vikram Jodha) veered to t he outside, thereby losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Robert D.Mellow has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing his charge HIGH RETURNS with bandages for which prior permission was not sought from the Club’s V.O.

 

Near 700 metres, PRINCE ARIUS (T.S.Jodha) was inconvenienced as SCARLET OF HOPE (App.Prabhu Naidu) shifted in. App.Prabhu Naidu has been cautioned.

 

Near 1000 metres, MIDNIGHT WIND (S.Zervan) shifted in and caused severe interference to OCEAN OF FAITH (App.Sandeep Jadhav). Jockey S.Zervan was reported to the Stewards for Careless Riding. Consideration of the matter was deferred to the next meeting of the Stewards.

 

After the running of this race, a Stewards Meeting was convened in view of the riotous situation following the poor performance of MIDNIGHT WIND, trained by Trainer H.J.Antia and ridden by Jockey S Zervan. After considering all submissions, the Stewards decided to initiate an Inquiry into the running of this race. Trainer Antia opted to have MODNIGHT WIND scoped.

 

Subsequently, the Sr.V.O reported that MIDNIGHT WIND was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and was found to have suffered EIPH (Gr.III). The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, WINCHESTER was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ARMEL, MIDNIGHT WIND and HIGH RETURNS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(162) – THE  HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – 5 Runners –

NO REPORT

 

RACE NO.7(163) – THE  TATTERSALLS MILLION: (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the Start, REMEMBER ME (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly and then was tightened as the gelding was converged upon as PANTHERA (B.Sreekanth, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and STILETTO (P.Trevor, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards.

 

Soon on entering the straight, REMEMBER ME (Neeraj Rawal) was inconvenienced as REKINDLE (C.S.Jodha) shifted in. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Jockey B.Sreekanth (PANTHERA) reported that he lost his left stirrup in the concluding stages of the race.

 

Jockey P.Trevor (STILETTO) reported that his mount lugged-out during the race, as such Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.  

 

After the race, DEEP DIVER was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left thigh on the inside and had also lost its right fore plate. STILETTO was found to be sound. 

 

WAR HORSE (S.Sunil) was placed fifth and STILETTO (P.Trevor) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.8(164) – THE  JAIDEV PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

LAKE PARADISE (S.P.Ranjane) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the Start, RELIC HUNTER (Akash Agarwal) jumped out awkwardly and was then eased off the heels of WINGS OF GLORY (Akshay).   

 

After the race, HOME ADVANTAGE, RELIC HUNTER and PETITE FLEUR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(165) – THE  INGLENOOK PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

ELECTRA (App.Prabhu Naidu) lost 3 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, MIRACLE OF MERCY (C.S.Jodha) and YARDSTICK (D.K.Ashish) made contact with each other.

 

Soon after the start, ACE OF HEART (A.Sandesh) shifted in and inconvenienced YARDSTICK (D.K.Ashish) who in turn inconvenienced MIRACLE OF MERCY (C.S.Jodha). Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

App.Sandeep Jadhav (WINDS OF CHANGE, dr.11) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (YARDSTICK) reported that his mount raced keen and near 800 metres his left rein slipped momentarily. 

 

Passing 800 metres, WINDS OF CHANGE (App.Sandeep Jadhav) shifted in and hampered the running of ALWAYS SMILE (S.P.Ranjane). App.Sandeep Jadhav has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

After the race, ACE OF HEART, ELECTRA, ZARAR, GOTTAWEARSHADES, YARDSTICK and WINDS OF CHANGE were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th race viz. NEATH, LORELEI, ROCKING REKINDLE and DANCING SPLENDOUR, as also that of REMEMBER ME and DEEP DIVER (7th race),  and the special sample of MIDNIGHT WIND (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “CAPITANO” IN RACE NO.133 - FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANECKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY (1000 METRES) RUN ON SUNDAY, 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2013 :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Narendra Lagad and Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh in the above connection.

 

Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh, the matter was reported to the Stewards.  

 

Since Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh failed to appear before the Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 21st September, 2013 the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license with immediate effect until he appears before the Stewards.

 

ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “MATRIOSHKA” IN RACE NO.137 - THE  COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.II) (1200 METRES) RUN ON SUNDAY, 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2013 :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Faisal A.Abbas and Jockey J.Pradeep in the above  connection. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas said that MATRIOSHKA has the habit of missing the kick, therefore, he had told the Jockey that in case she misses the kick this time also, try and get her into momentum and ride his race from there and if by chance she loses too much ground then not to hurry and push her too much but gradually nurse her or else she will come to a stand still towards the end. He said that the filly jumped out a bit slow as usual and as the race progressed, the Jockey kept a wide course instead of taking the inner route and in the straight the filly started moving but by then the race was over. When asked whether he was  satisfied with the Jockey’s riding in the straight, Tr.Faisal A.Abbas said that MATRIOSHKA is a high strung temperamental filly and even in this race she did not allow the Jockey to mount and had to be led  to the start and the Jockey was probably a bit shaken up. He said that after the race the Jockey had informed him that initially the filly was not holding the bit and thereafter there was too much kick back on the inside, hence he came from the outside.  Tr.Faisal A.Abbas said that he has tried the filly over different distances but she was still a maiden and keeping all this factors in mind he took no exception to the Jockey’s riding in this race. He said that he had fancied the filly for Place.

 

Jockey J.Pradeep confirmed the instructions. He said that the filly jumped out slow and thereafter he tried to improve his position but the filly was not holding the bit and there was too much kick back on the inside and the filly was not coming in, therefore he kept the filly on the outside and he started pushing the filly from the two furlongs when she caught hold of the bit and started responding but by then the race was over and he told the Trainer to try her over longer trips.

 

The video recording of Race No.137 was viewed and it was pointed out to Jockey J.Pradeep that he had unnecessarily travelled wide all through the race and he was very feeble in his riding effort in the straight. Jockey J.Pradeep reiterated that he had done his best.

 

Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer Faisal A.Abbas and Jockey J.Pradeep, both were fined Rs.5,000/- each.

 

RE : MERCY PETITION FROM 1) JOCKEY MANSOOR KHAN AND 2) JOCKEY HANUMANT SINGH IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF THEIR JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 05/05/2013 TILL 28/10/2013 (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE)   - ENQUIRY INTO IMPROPER PRACTICE I.E. WAGERING BETS WHICH IS AGAINST THE RULES

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 21st September, 2013 considered two Mercy Petitions, both dated 11th September, 2013 from Jockey Mansoor Khan and Jockey Hanumant Singh in the above connection and having considered all papers and proceedings before them and having deliberated the matter, decided to reject the same.

 

RE : REQUEST FROM JOCKEY DASHRATH SINGH TO CONVERT THE SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE ON 29/09/2013 IMPOSED ON HIM BY THE STEWARDS FOR CARELESS RIDING ON “DARK KNIGHT” IN RACE NO.144 RUN ON 14/09/2013, TO A FINE :

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 21st September, 2013 considered undated letter from Jockey Dashrath Singh in the above connection and having deliberated the matter, regretted their inability to accede to the request.
