RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge STAR ROMANCE in the 9th race, at his own (Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi’s) risk and responsibility.

 

RACE NO.1 (89) – THE CAPRISCA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey S. J. Sunil, his mount TALKING POINT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey C. Umesh the saddle used on his mount MADISON was checked and re-adjusted.

 

At the start, LEO THE LION (A. Prakash, dr.5) jumped out brushing the gates.

 

At the start, MADISON (C. Umesh, dr.2) jumped outwards onto NORTHBOUND (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.3) and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, YULETIDE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NORTHBOUND was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its left hind bulb of heel.

 

After the race, MADISON was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.

 

After the race, TALKING POINT was trotted and found to be sound. 

 

RACE NO.2 (90) – THE NOBLE PRINCE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.500/- for failing to put in a request to use a Red Hood on his charge COIN EMPRESS before the race day.

 

SUPERLUMINAL (R. Shelar, dr.8) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, ARIYANA STAR (P. Trevor, dr.2) jumped outwards and went across EKLA CHOLO (S. Mosin, dr.3) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 300 metres, SAMSON (Prashant P. Dhebe) was held up for room and had to be steadied.

 

In the final stages of the race, WE STILL BELIEVE (K. Pranil) leaned in under pressure thereby forcing COIN EMPRESS (K. Nazil) inwards and at the same time IMPULSIVE (Bhawani Singh) leaned out thereby tightening and inconveniencing SAMSON (Prashant P. Dhebe) racing between them. Jockey K. Pranil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Prakash (FLASHMAN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (IMPULSIVE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, COIN EMPRESS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by left fore. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR OF ASIA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, EKLA CHOLO was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

After the race, FLASHMAN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (91) – THE MYSTIC MOMERY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the start, SCARAMOUCHE (T. S. Jodha, dr.2) jumped inwards and brushed the haunches of LIAM (Antony Raj S., dr.1)

 

At the start, KAVYA (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with ARIES (D. R. Shubham, dr.4) thereby unbalancing its rider.

 

Soon after the start, SHIRSA (S. G. Prasad) shifted in under urgings and went across ARIES (D. R. Shubham) causing the latter to be steadied. As such, Jockey S. G. Prasad has been fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in before the red maker.

 

Passing the 700 metres, KAVYA (N. S. Parmar) leaned out onto SCARAMOUCHE (T. S. Jodha).

 

Approaching the 200 metres, KAVYA (N. S. Parmar) shifted in under pressure and went across CHARDIKALA (A. Sandesh) causing the latter to check and change course. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been fined Rs. 1,000/-.

 

After the race, ARIES & CHARDIKALA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (92) – THE AMAZING GRACE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

SINGER SARGENT (C. Umesh, dr.3) lost about four lengths at the start. As such, Trainer Fasial A. Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SIR BAFFERT (Imran Chisty, dr.1) lost about two lengths at the start. As such, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SIR BAFFERT (Imran Chisty, dr.1) jumped outwards and went across SINGER SARGENT (C. Umesh dr.3) who was slow to begin.

 

It was observed that App. Avinash Paswan (ALPINE STAR) had failed to wear his goggles during the race. As such, he has been fined Rs.1,000/-.for his lapse.

 

Jockey Imran Chisty (SIR BAFFERT) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner on his mount. As such, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Kirtish Bhagat (CHRISTOFLE) reported that the saddle used on his mount shifted forward and thereby he was not able to ride out his mount to full advantage. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Pune Meeting 2025, Trainer P. Shroff has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

RACE NO.5 (93) – THE SURAIYA & MASOOM MASTER CUP: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

As the start was affected, DIVINE INTUITION (Vivek G., dr.4) rushed the front gate, reared up and fell in the stall. Subsequently, the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be bleeding from its left nostril. After first aid the gelding was sent to the Equine Hospital for further treatment. Considering the behavior of the gelding, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, SOCIAL BUTTERFLY (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in under urgings and went across QUICKER (App. Bharat Singh) causing the later to be checked. App. Aditya Waydande has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, SOCIAL BUTTERFLY (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing WESTERN STAR (Antony Raj S.) along rails causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Aditya Waydande has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

In the final stages of the race, WESTERN STAR (Antony Raj S.) was observed to have drifted out under pressure, despite the rider’s effort. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SOCIAL BUTTERFLY was trotted and found to be sound. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, an endoscopy was performed on the filly at the saddling enclosure and was found to have EIPH (Gr. I).

 

After the race, QUICKER was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that BEE MAGICAL had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.6 (94) – THE WARSW PACT TROPHY – DIVISION - II: (ABOUT) 1100 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

At the start, NORTHERN SINGER (N. Bhosale, dr.8) brushed the gates and lost about a length.

 

At the start, LION KING (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.1) jumped outwards on to JOHNNY MAC (Vivek G., dr.2) who in turn shifted out and went across AR FIRST STAR (App. Sonu Chouhan, dr.3) and made contact with MOJO (App. Ritesh Gochhi, dr.4).

 

After the race, App. Aditya Waydande (LION KING) reported that his mount lugged-in in the early part of the race, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ASHWA GYPSY was observed to have an injury on its right fore cannon.

 

RACE NO.7 (95) – THE DCN MILLION: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

At the start, AZALEA (Vivek G., dr.2) jumped outwards onto VIENNOISE (T. S. Jodha, dr.3).

 

Approaching the 1200 metres, TYRANNUS (Antony Raj S.) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening the field on its inside due to which DREAMER (N. S. Parmar) racing along the rails had to be checked. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, CARADOC (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing CONJURER (Imran Chisty) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Jockey Imran Chisty (CONJURER) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner. As such, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Imran Chisty (CONJURER) reported that he was denied a clear passage approaching the 300 metres thereafter denied for room in the final stages of the race. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, HAZEL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, VIENNOISE was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

After the race, DIEGO GARCIA was observed to have lost its right fore shoe

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

HAZEL had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

AZALEA had left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.8 (96) – THE INDIAN ST. LEGER (GRADE 1): (ABOUT) 2800 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

On a request from Trainer P. Shroff, ARKADIAN was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 08:30 a.m. on 19th September 2025 at the stables and reported that the colt was unable to bear weight on its  right fore (sore right fore) and  had a swelling on its left fore fetlock. As such, the colt was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request of Jockey P. Trevor (DUKE OF TUSCANY) the stirrup used on his saddle was checked and re-adjusted.

 

At the start, DOCTOR DOLLY (C. Umesh, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby bumping and forcing TIEPOLO (A. Prakash, dr.4)  inwards onto PYRITE (Mukesh Kumar, dr.3) causing them to jostle.

 

Soon after the start, DUKE OF TUSCANY (P. Trevor) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, POSITANO (Akshay Kumar) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing GOLDEN THUNDER (Antony Raj S.) who had to be checked. Jockey Akshay Kumar has been cautioned.

 

After the race, DUKE OF TUSCANY was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, TIEPOLO was observed to have lost its both fore shoes.

 

After the race, PYRITE was observed to have an injury on its right hind pastern and lost its left fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.9 (97) – THE WARSAW PACT TROPHY- DIVIDION – I: (ABOUT) 1100 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

STAR ROMANCE (S. J. Sunal, dr.8) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, RED MERLOT (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.10) jumped out throwing its head up.

 

Passing the 300 metres, FOUJITA (Vivek G.) shifted out under the use of whip thereby carrying CINDERELLA’S DREAM (A. Sandesh) outwards thereafter passing the 250 metres, FOUJITA further shifted out at the same time CINDERELLA’S DREAM shifted in and they made contact. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

In the final stages of the race, ABHICANDRA (App. Aditya Waydande) was observed to have drifted in under pressure. After the race, App. Aditya Waydande (ABHICANDRA) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, it was pointed out to him that considering the colt was lugging-in in the straight, he should have changed his whip hand and taken corrective measures. App. Aditya Waydande has been cautioned.

 

After the race, JOONDALUP was observed to have an injury on its right fore cannon and left hind fetlock.

 

After the race, FOUJITA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

ABHICANDRA had right eye injury (sore).

 

FOUJITA had left eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.10 (98) – THE BAY OF TREASURE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, ARLINGTON HEIGHTS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:00 a.m. on 19th September 2025 at the stables and found to be sore by right fore. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race

 

On a request from Trainer Behram Cama, JAGGER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:00 a.m. on 21st September 2025 at the stables and found to be sore by left fore. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race, was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SIMOLA (App. Ritesh Gochhi, dr.3) jumped out brushing the gates.

 

At the start, STORM (T. S. Jodha, dr.11) jumped, whipped around and stopped galloping. As such, Trainer Behram Cama been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in two mock races, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GIANT GOLD (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) jumped inwards at the same time DESERT CLASSIC (K. Pranil, dr.5) jumped outwards thereby bumping and forcing GAINT GOLD outwards onto SASEKA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.7). Trainer P. S. Chouhan asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 1400 metres, SIMOLA (App. Ritesh Gochhi) leaned out and carried APPLAUSE (App. Bharat Singh) outwards. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Ritesh Gochhi has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, GIANT GOLD (App. Aditya Waydande) was observed to have lost his footing and stumble.

 

After the race, Jockey Ritesh Gochhi (SIMOLA) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently. The gelding was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

MARCUS had right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

LA DOLCE VITA had left eye injury (sore).

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the ARIYANA STAR (Winner - 2nd race), SCARAMOUCHE (Winner – 3rd race), WESTERN STAR (Winner – 5th race), TYRANNUS (Winner – 7th race), ODYSSEUS (Winner – 8th race), PYRITE (2nd place – 8th race), THALASSA (3rd place – 8th race), GIANT GOLD (Winner – 10th race), and the special samples of YULETIDE (1st race) & SOCIAL BUTTERFLY (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
