RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT 4 METRES WIDE AT 2000 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES,7 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES 8 METRES WIDE AT 600 METRES, THEREAFTER 9 METRES WIDE UPTO WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, permission was granted to Trainer M. K. Jadhav to saddle his charge MAJESTIC WARRIOR in the 3rd race, MICHIGAN in the 4th race, DESERT FIRE in the 5th race, MIRAE in the 7th race and REMY RED & C’EST L’AMOUR in the 8th race at his own (Trainer Naredra Lagad’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer Aravind G., permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge QUEEN REGNANT in the 1st race, FAITH OF SUCCESS in the 2nd race and MUSTERION in the 3rd race at his own (Trainer Aravind G.’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1(39) – THE EVATINA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8
Jockey P. Trevor (SINNER) reported that the Tongue Strap on his mount had come off as such the same was fixed on the arrival at the start.
MYSTERIOUS GIRL (K. Nazil, dr.2) jumped out slowly throwing its head thereby losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, TAIL EVENT (App. A. S. Peter) shifted out and made contact with QUEEN REGNANT (Bhawani Singh) who had to be steadied. App. A. S. Peter has been cautioned.
Soon after the start, MOUNT SINAI (App. Mustakim Alam) was inclined outwards and had to be steadied.
After the race, App. M. S. Deora (SANDMAN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. As such Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, SANDMAN was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(40) – THE MARIINSKY TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 6
FAITH OF SUCCESS (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) jumped out awkwardly slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Aravind G. has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, FAITH OF SUCCESS & CAPRISCA were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(41) – THE WAVES OF GLORY PLATE - DIVISION II: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8
At the request of Trainer S. K. Sunderji, INTENSE APPROACH was examined at 1015 hours on 20/08/2022 and found to have injury on left shank and was lame by left hind, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
TREASURE GOLD (App. P. Shinde, dr.3) jumped out slowly losing about 4 lengths at the start. As such, Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, SOUP AND SANDWICH (D. R. Shubham, dr.5) jumped inwards onto LADY SANTANA (App. M. S. Deora, dr.4) who in turn shifted in and went across TREASURE GOLD (App. P. Shinde, dr.3) who was slow to begin.
Passing the 300 metres, LORD AND MASTER (P. S. Chouhan) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing MAJESTIC WARRIOR (J. Chinoy) thereafter LORD AND MASTER further shifted in and went across SOUP AND SANDWITCH (D. R. Shubham) causing the latter to check and change course. After the race on questioning, Jockey P. S. Chouhan stated that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. He also mentioned that the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in his previous starts. It was pointed out to him that since he was well aware of the geldings behavior he should have been more alert and made more efforts. As such Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, App. M. S. Deora (LADY SANTANA, dr.4) reported that this mount was restless in the stall and was not allowing him to settle. As such, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been ask to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, LORD AND MASTER was examined and fond to have a gum injury and MAJESTIC WARRIOR a injury on left hind coronet.
App. M. S. Deora (LADY SANTANA) was observed that have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Pune Meeting 2022, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
RACE NO.4(42) – THE MAYOR'S TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres –Runners- 8
After the race Jockey P S Chouhan (VENUS) reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race. Further to a question he stated that the bit on his mount had shifted to one side in his effort to control the filly. As such, the filly was subjected to Veterinary examination including scoping. Subsequently, the Sr. V.O. reported that the filly was scoped and was found to have (Gr.2 EIPH).
After the race Jockey Bhawani Singh (DAIANNE) reported that approaching the 700 metres his mount shied outwards. After watching the replay it was pointed out to him that the filly had not shied but had reacted to the use of whip around the turn. As such Jockey Bhawani Singh has been severely cautioned.
After the race, GIMME was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(43) – THE WAVES OF GLORY PLATE - DIVISION I: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9
NOLAN (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) took a fly jump at the start.
At the start, DALI SWIRL (App. Haridas Gore, dr.5) jumped inwards thereby bumping and forcing EMPOWER (App. P. Shinde, dr.4) inwards onto BABY BAZOOKA (K. Nazil, dr.3). App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.
Approaching the 1200 metres, NOLAN (R. Ajinkya) racing between BABY BAZOOKA (K. Nazil) and JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe) was tightened for room and had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe reported that his mount hung-in throughout the race despite his efforts. As such, Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 300 metres, BABY BAZOOKA (K. Nazil) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing THUNDERCLAP (P. S. Chouhan) outwards thereafter BABY BAZOOKA further shifted out thereby inconveniencing THUNDERCLAP. As such, Jockey K. Nazil has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
After the race, JETFIRE was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(44) – THE F. D. WADIA TROPHY (GRADE 3): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 4
At the start, SNOWFALL (P. Trevor, dr.3) jumped inwards onto LADY CADET (Santosh G., dr.2) who was slow to begin.
Soon after the start, SNOWFALL (P. Trevor), LADY CADET (Santosh G.) & LIAM (N. S. Parmar) were observed to have jostled.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (SNOWFALL) reported that his instruction were not to go to the front however despite his efforts he found himself in front and rode from there.
RACE NO.7(45) – THE SEA RULER PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11
After being stall, RISTERETTO (App. P. Shinde, dr.3) tried to duck the gates momentarily resulting in the App. P. Shinde sliding down over the neck of his mount.
At the start, DISTINCTION (P. S. Chouhan, dr.10) jumped outwards at the same time BETTER HALF (S. J. Sunil, dr.11) leaned inwards and they made contact.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (GOLDIVA) reported that his mount was lethargic in the early part of the race.
After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (BETTER HALF) reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped back during the race as such he was unable to ride his mount at his full advantage. As such Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling, this being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022.
After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (DISTINCTION) reported that his mount was inclined to run outwards throughout the race despite his efforts. In view of above and a similar behavior of the filly in her last start, Trainer P Shroff has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Steward, before next accepting to race.
After the race, DISTINCTION was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8(46) – THE SECRET ROMEO PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14
After being stall, EXPEDITION (App. A. S. Peter, dr.2) reared up and flipped over in the stall dislodged its rider and came out underneath the rear gate as such was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Thereafter the Club’s Sr. V.O. examined the filly and reported that she had injured her right shank and thereafter was sent in the horse ambulance to the Equine hospital for further treatment.
DEMETRIUS (App. Haridas Gore, dr.5) refused to stall despite substantial efforts as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’ order. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, COMMANDMENT (P. Trevor, dr.7) jumped inwards on to TRISTAR (S. Zervan, dr.6) thereby forcing it inwards due to which AME (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.4) had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, SONISHA (K. Nazil) shifted in and bumped SHADOWS (App. P. S. Kaviraj) thereafter SONISHA shifted out thereby inconveniencing MURWARA PRINCESS (T. S. Jodha). Jockey. K. Nazil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 900 meteres, REMY RED (J. Chinoy) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing SONISHA (K. Nazil) outwards.
Approaching the 800 metres, AME (Prashant P. Dhebe) shied outwards onto SHADOWS (App P. S. Kaviraj) thereafter SHADOWS racing between AME and REMY RED (J. Chinoy) was tightened for room and had to be steadied. After questioning all concerned, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
In the final stages of the race, VIKRAMADITYA (App. M. S. Deora) leaned outwards onto REMY RED (J. Chinoy). App. M. S. Deora has been cautioned.
App. M. S. Deora (VIKRAMADITYA) was observed to have persisted with the whip from the right despite his mount shifting out and going across TRISTAR (S. Zervan) who had to be steadied and further shifted out onto REMY RED (J. Chinoy). After questioning, App. M. S. Deora has been fined Rs.2,000/- for persisting with the whip despite his mount shifting out.
After the race, App. M. S. Deora reported that Jockey S. Zervan had used unparliamentary language after the race. Jockey S. Zervan was spoken to and has been severely reprimanded and he was further informed that repetition of such incident will entail severe disciplinary action.
After the race, VIKRAMADITYA had a gum injury.

The urine samples of the RAFFAELLO (Winner – 5th race) & COMMANDMENT (Winner – 8th race) race, and the special sample of VENUS (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
The urine and blood samples of the WORDSMITH (Winner – 6th race) & SNOWFALL (Second – 6th race) race, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

MOCK RACE HELD ON 21ST AUGUST 2022.
Soon after the start, STAR (S. J. Sunil) and SUPER KING (App. A. S. Peter) stopped galloping. As such, Trainer Deepesh Narredu & M. Narredu have been asked to show their charges in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race
It was observed that approaching the 200 metres, Jockey J. Chinoy (HOUSE OF LORDS) have used the whip in the fore hand position down the shoulder. On questioning, Jockey J. Chinoy stated that his mount was hanging-in badly and he had used the whip to correct the same and he was extremely apologetic for the same. As such he has been severely reprimanded.
After the mock race, HOUSE OF LORDS had lost its right fore shoe.
