RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charges FANCY NANCY in the 2^nd race, FLYING VISIT & TRULY EPIC in the 3^rd race, SUPREME SPIRIT in the 4^th race, PYRRHUS in the 6^th race, ENDURANCE in the 7^th race and FLYING HALO in the 9^th race, at his own (Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(1) – THE BEYOND EXPECTATION PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

On the arrival at the start, at the request of App. N. Bhosale (DIVINE SOUL), the saddle on his mount was adjusted.

At the start, PRINCE IGOR (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time ZIP ALONG (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.8) jumped inwards and made contact with LADY DI (S. A. Amit, dr.7).

Soon after the start, RECIPROCITY (P. Vinod) shifted in at the same time NAIROBI (S. G. Prasad) leaned outwards and they made contact. Jockey P. Vinod has been cautioned.

Approaching the 1000 metres, Jockey N. S. Parmar (PRINCE O’ WAR) was observed to have shifted in thereby inconveniencing NAIROBI (S. G. Prasad) who had to be steadied. Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.

Approaching the 900 metres, RECIPROCITY (P. Vinod) racing between NAIROBI (S. G. Prasad) and TARZAN (Bhawani Singh) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

Approaching the 400 metres, SILVER STEPS (T. S. Jodha) shifted out and went across LIGHTNING BLAZE (App. A. K. Aniket) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning, Jockey T. S. Jodha has been severely reprimanded.

It was observed that the saddle used on HABIBI (S. Saqlain) shifted forward during the race. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, Jockey P. Vinod (RECIPROCITY) reported loss of whip approaching the 200 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2023, no action has been initiated. However, he has been instructed to practice the use of whip under the supervision of the Riding Instructor.

After the race, LIGHTNING BLAZE was trotted and found to be sound and ANOUSHKA was found to have a gum injury.

The Equine Hospital reported that LADY DI had left eye injury (sore) and ZIP ALONG had both eye injuries (sore).

RACE NO.2(2) – THE SEASON OPENER PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

In the process of saddling FANCY NANCY (App. Haridas Gore) reared up and flipped over, as such, the filly was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., in the saddling enclosure and also on the arrival at the start and was certified fit to race.

FANCY NANCY (App. Haridas Gore) was reluctant to reach the starting gates thereby delaying the start of the race. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to school his charge in a mock race before next accepting with it. Thereafter on the arrival at the start, at the request of App. Haridas Gore, the saddle on his mount was adjusted.

At the start, SMILES OF FORTUNE (Yash Narredu, dr.7) jumped outwards onto AMEERAH (Neeraj Rawal, dr.8) who in turn shifted out and made contact with ATTAINED (App. P. Shinde, dr.9).

DIVINE INTUITION (Lalkar Singh, dr.4) reared up as the start was affected thereby losing 3 lengths.

Passing the 1200 metres DIVINE INTUTION (Lalkar Singh) shifted out thereby forcing SMILES OF FORTUNE (Yash Narredu) outwards. Jockey Lalkar Singh has been cautioned.

Approaching the 200 metres, SMILES OF FORTUNE (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby bumping and inconveniencing FLOYD (T. S. Jodha) who in turn shifted in and made contact with CHARMING STAR (App. Mustakim Alam). After the race on questioning, Jockey Yash Narredu stated that his mount hung-in and that he had immediately taken corrective measures, as the same was borne out, no action was initiated against the Jockey. However, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race

After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (GOLDIVA) reported loss of whip passing the 300 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2023, no action has been initiated.

After the race, App. Haridas Gore (FANCY NANCY) reported that his saddle had slipped during the race, considering that the saddle was adjusted at the gates no action has been initiated against the Trainer. However, the Starter has been asked to be more cautious in the future.

After the race, FANCY NANCY was trotted and found to be sound but found to have bruises on both hock.

After the race, STREET SENSE was trotted and found to be sound.

The equine hospital reported that GOLDIVA had left eye injury (sore).

RACE NO.3(3) – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

At the start, EUPHORIC (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.7) jumped outwards and made contact with FLYING VISIT (K. Nazil, dr.8).

The Equine Hospital reported that IN CONTENTION had right eye injury (sore).

RACE NO.4(4) – THE SEASON OPENER PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES –RUNNERS- 11

TREASURE GOLD (S. Mosin) jumped out slowly thereby losing about 2 lengths at the start.

Soon after the start, FLASHING FAMOUS (S. G. Prasad) leaned inwards and went across TREASURE GOLD (S. Mosin) who was marginally slow to begin and made contact with SUPREME SPIRIT (Bhawani Singh). Jockey S. G. Prasad has been cautioned.

Approaching the 800 metres, MALAKHI (T. S. Jodha) shifted in onto WALTER (S. P. Ranjane) who in turn in shifted in onto KARIENA (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be checked thereafter MALAKHI further shifted in as a result tightening WALTER and KAREINA. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey T. S. Jodha has been fined a sum of Rs.3,000/-.

Passing the 350 metres, EATON SQUARE (S. J. Sunil) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing MY PRINCESS (H. M. Akshay) along the rails. After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil reported that his mount hung-in, despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

Passing the 200 metres, MY PRINCESS (H. M. Akshay) shifted out under urgings thereby tightening and inconveniencing WALTER (S. P. Ranjane) who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey H. M. Akshay has been fined a sum of Rs.2,000/-.

In the final stages of the race, TYRONE BLACK (H. G. Rathod) shifted in under the whip thereby tightening EATON SQUARE (S. J. Sunil) along the rails. Jockey H. G. Rathod has been severely reprimanded.

After the race, EATON SQUARE was trotted and found to be sound.

The Equine Hospital reported that WALTER had left eye injury (sore) and ALPHA GENE had both eye injuries (sore).

RACE NO.5(5) – THE D. K. ASHISH TROPHY - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

At the request of Trainer Dallas Todywalla, MI ARION was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area at 08:00 pm on 20/07/2023 and was found to have colic, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

An objection was lodged by Jockey P. S. Chouhan, rider of DEMOCRACY placed third by the Judge against Jockey Bhawani Singh, rider of THE GENERAL placed first by the Judge, reason being in the last 200 metres, Jockey Bhawani Singh hit on his whip due to which Jockey P. S. Chouhan lost his whip at a crucial stage, thereafter in the last 50 metres, the winner came onto him and tightened him thereby taking his ground which cost him a certain race and if he wouldn’t have stopped riding, he could have fallen.

After reviewing the race from various angles and considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with the views of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their own judgment, the Stewards decided to uphold the objection and revised the order of placing as under:-

ATHENIAN - FIRST; THE GENERAL - THIRD;

DEMOCRACY - SECOND; VIJAYA - FOURTH

At the start, KOENIG (R. Shelar, dr.8) jumped inwards at the same time VIJAYA (C. S. Jodha, dr.7) jumped outwards and they made contact

Soon after the start, THE GENERAL (Bhawani Singh) shifted in and made contact with ATHENIAN (App. M. S. Deora) who had to be steadied thereafter SHE’S A TEASER (K. Nazil) shifted out and made contact with THE GENERAL (Bhawani Singh). Both the Jockeys Bhawani Singh and K. Nazil have been cautioned.

Passing the 600 metres, ALOYSIA (Neeraj Rawal) racing on the haunches of VIJAYA (C. S. Jodha) had to be steadied.

WARRIOR PRINCE (Vivek G.) was observed to have drifted out and raced on the extreme outside.

After the race, DEMOCRACY was found to have a cut injury on right hind cannon and VIJAYA was observed to have lost its right hind shoe.

The Equine Hospital reported that MAYSARA had right eye injury (sore), ALOYSIA had both eye injuries (sore) and BUBBLY BOY had left eye injury (sore).

RACE NO.6(6) – THE ALLEY CAT PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

GALLOPING GLORY (N. Nadeem) was reluctant to reach the starting gates. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

GALLOPING GLORY (N. Nadeem) took a fly jump resulting in Jockey N. Nadeem losing his reins momentarily, as a result, made contact with DOWSABEL (Amyn Merchant) who also jumped out awkwardly.

Passing the 150 metres, QUEENS PRIDE (App. Haridas Gore) was observed to have shifted in under the whip and went across INISHMORE (App. P. Shinde) causing the latter to change course. App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.

After the race, INISHMORE was observed to have injury on right fore bulb of heel.

After the race, QUEENS PRIDE & NELSON RIVER were trotted and found to be sound.

After the race, GENEROSITY was found to have gum injury and injury on right fore bulb of heel.

After the race, PYRRHUS was trotted and found to be sound but found to have injury on right nostril.

The Equine Hospital reported that NELSON RIVER had left eye injury (sore) and INISHMORE had right eye injury (sore).

RACE NO.7(7) – THE D. K. ASHISH TROPHY - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

On the arrival at the start, CYRENAICA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

At the start, TESS (C. Umesh, dr.11) was observed to have lost its footings and stumbled.

Passing the 400 metres, ENABLER (Yash Narredu) shifted out and went across LIGHT OF LIFE (R. Shelar) who had to be steadied. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

Passing the 100 metres, ROLL THE DICE (App. Mustakim Alam) leaned-in thereby tightening BRAHMOS (Dashrath Singh) along the rails. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

The Equine Hospital reported that CYRENAICA had left eye injury (sore), PURE FOR SURE had right eye injury (sore) and MULTIVERSE had right eye injury (sore).

RACE NO.8(8) – THE DOUBLE BULL PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

Soon after the start, it was observed that Jockey K. Nazil (RAMBLER) lost his right stirrup thereby losing his balance resulting in him being dislodged.

Soon after the start, MAJORELLA BLUE (T. S. Jodh) shifted in at the same time LORD VADER (Bhawani Singh) shifted out thereby tightening BUCKLEY (Dashrath Singh) racing between them.

Soon after the start, riderless RAMBLER (K. Nazil) brushed the haunches of LIAM (App. P. Shinde) causing it outwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing LORD VADER (Bhawani Singh).

Passing the 1000 metres, Jockey S. Saqlain (IRISH GOLD) lost his left stirrup which he regained after a few strides. As such, he has been asked to be more careful in the future.

Approaching the 300 metres, SNOWFALL (Suraj Narredu) leaned inwards and made contact with IRISH GOLD (S. Saqlain) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing DIVINE THOUGTHS (Lalkar Singh) along the rails. Jockey Suraj Narredu has been cautioned.

Passing the 300 metres, DALI SWIRL (Amyn Merchant) was denied a clear passage as a result had to change course.

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (BUCKLEY) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

After the race, BUCKLEY & DILBAR were trotted and found to be sound.

After the race, LORD VADER was examined at the stable area and was found to have abrasion at right hock.

The Equine Hospital reported that BUCKLEY had both eye injuries (sore) and IRISH GOLD had left eye injury (sore).

RACE NO.9(9) – THE BEYOND EXPECTATION PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

Approaching the 900 metres, HIGH SPIRIT (App. Mustakim Alam) was observed to have maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing SUSSING (D. R. Shubham) thereafter ADAMAS (S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across HIGH SPIRIT (App. Mustakim Alam) causing the latter to check and change course. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (SUPERIMPOSE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures

After the race, HIGH SPIRIT & HISTORIC were trotted and found to be sound.

The equine hospital reported that FLYING HALO had both eye injuries (sore).

The urine samples of the winner of the 6^th & 7^th race, viz. GENEROSITY & HALL OF GRACE, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

RE: MATTER REMANDED BACK TO THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB BY THE BOARD OF APPEAL-ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF DREAM ALLIANCE IN RACE NO.172-THE BOMBAY CLUB MULTI MILLION (DIST.1400 METRES RUN ON 2 APRIL 2023- DE-NOVO ENQUIRY – JOCKEY A. SANDESH:

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Monday, 15^th May 2023, having considered all submissions made by Jockey A. Sandesh and his spokesperson Mr. Geoffrey Nagpal and Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait. The Stewards also provided him with the opportunity to bring in witnesses, namely Mr. P. S. Chouhan and Mr. S. Zervan. Additionally, the Stewards also took note of the email dated 15 May 2023, from Mr. P. Trevor, who had expressed his inability to attend the meeting but provided his observations.

Furthermore, the Stewards reviewed the races as requested by his spokesperson i.e. race numbers 44, 94, 126 and 172 (Runs of DREAM ALLIANCE) and race numbers 38,141,166 and 176. After thoroughly investigating the matter and carefully considering all the facts, circumstances, papers, proceedings, reports, records, evidence and annexures, the Stewards had concluded that they were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey A. Sandesh. Consequently, they found him guilty of not permitting his mount (DREAM ALLIANCE) to run on its merits.

The Stewards decided to Suspend his Jockey's Licence for a period of one year i.e. from 30^th May 2023 to 30^th April 2024 and further, should he apply for grant of ‘A’ Jockey's licence for the Racing Season 2024/25, the same shall not be granted to him upto and inclusive of 29^th May 2024. Also to impose on him a suspended sentence of 6 months over the next three years ie. if he is found guilty of a similar offence within the next three years, commencing from 30^th May 2024 i.e. after the expiry of the suspension of his Jockey's License, then the aforesaid suspended sentence of 6 months would immediately come into force and effect and which aforesaid punishment would be in addition to any other punishment which the Stewards may impose on him for any subsequent act of yours as regards the aforesaid Please note that during the period of his suspension i.e. upto 29^th May 2024, he shall not be permitted to:-

a) Ride work;

b) Attend racing, on course or off course;

c) Enter the stable area at Mumbai and Pune

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SNOWFALL” (DRAWN 13) IN RACE NO. 170 – THE STAR FORTUNE MILLION (DIST. 1200 MTRS.) RUN ON 2^ND APRIL 2023 :

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Wednesday, 12^th July 2023, having considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Jockey A. Sandesh and Trainer Altaf Hussain as also the Stipendiary Stewards and having viewed the video recording of race in question as also Race Nos. 61, 110 and 176 run during the Mumbai Meeting 2022/23 of the filly, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey A. Sandesh and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on his mount SNOWFALL in the above race.

As such, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s Licence for a period of 8 race days for unsatisfactory riding. Since his appeal in respect of the running and riding of DREAM ALLIANCE in Race No. 172 run on 2^nd April 2023 is pending with the Board of Appeal, the dates of his suspension will be intimated after his appeal has been heard and disposed of by the Board.

RE: APPEAL AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF JOCKEY’S LICENCE FOR TWO RACE DAYS FOR CARELESS RIDING ON “ALPINE STAR” (DRAWN 2) IN RACE NO. 163 – THE ACT IN TIME MILLION RUN ON 1^ST APRIL 2023 INTO A FINE – APP. MUSTAKIM ALAM

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Wednesday, 12^th July 2023 having considered all the papers and proceedings before them. The Stewards also viewed the video recording of the incident in Race No. 163 and heard the submissions made by App. Mustakim Alam and his Master Trainer Narendra Lagad as also the Stipendiary Stewards.

The Stewards having deliberated in the matter and without setting a precedent for the future, decided to modify the punishment and accordingly fined App. Mustakim Alam a sum of Rs.20,000/- instead of the suspension imposed on him by the Stipendiary Stewards.
