RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 13 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywalla to saddle his charges OCTOPAUL, ST BARTS & HOLY BULL in the 2^nd, 4^th & 5^th race respectively, at his (Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Sanjay Kolse, permission was granted to Trainer Rehanullah Khan to saddle his charge BAYBLUES in the 6^th race, at his (Trainer Sanjay Kolse’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge PTOLEMY in the 3^rd race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(211) – THE HOMI MODY TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 3

After the race, AMBROSIA, CLARION CALL and OKAVANGO were found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(212) – THE FLYING BRAVE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6

At the start, GLOWING STAR (S.Sunil) jumped awkwardly and tried to drift outwards.

Near 250 metres, GLOWING STAR (S.Sunil) was inconvenienced while racing behind NUSH (A Sandesh) who kept an erratic course.

After the race, ACT OF WAR, OCTOPAUL (examined on 22/02/2013) and GLOWING STAR (examined on 22/02/2013) were found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(213) – THE FEDORA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 11

LIGHT MY WAY (Amyn Merchant) prematurely charged the front gates as the start was effected.

At the start, DAUGHTEROFDESTINY (Nirmal Jodha, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards. SPEED UP (App.Prasad, dr.4) also jumped awkwardly outwards and caused a chain reaction wherein SPEED UP went on to ELECTRA (P.Trevor, dr.5) who went on to MYSTIC REWARD (D.K.Ashish, dr.6) who went on to BEER HAND (App.Nikhil Bhujbal, dr.7) who was awkwardly placed behind the heels of BELLA FIGURA (Neeraj Rawal, dr.8) who had also shifted ground inwards at that stage.

Passing 1000 metres, BEER HAND (App.Nikhil Bhujbal) stumbled on its own.

After the race, SIZZLING LOVE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, BEER HAND was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore fetlock, LIGHT MY WAY had a gum injury and DAUGHTEROFDESTINY had lost its right hind plate. LIGHT MY WAY, BELLA FIGURA and MYSTIC REWARD were found to be sound.

Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not obtaining permission to discontinue the use of bandages on his charge VICTOIRE.

RACE NO.4(214) –THE RED BUTTONS PLATE (DIV.II):(About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8

On arrival at the start, WILLTELL (Amyn Merchant) was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before under the Starter’s Order. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the start, IZARRA (App.Prasad, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and caused WIND CRAFT (R.Shelar, dr.2) who itself had jumped out awkwardly, to shift out.

Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi (ST BARTS) has been cautioned for inept handling of his mount.

After the race, PORT BLAIR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SUPER SATIN was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore cannon. ALKAZI, IZARRA, ST BARTS and WALK OF LIFE were found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(215) – THE M.D.MEHTA TROPHY:(About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 9

At the request of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha, UMARKOT was examined at 1715 hours on 20/02/2013 and was found to have capped elbow on right fore leg with painful swelling, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

At the request of Trainer Bezan Chenoy, MINISTER was examined at 1015 hours on 21/02/2013 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

Passing 800 metres, DIVINE SOLITAIRE (P.Trevor) was hampered for a run as SULTAN OF SWING (Malcolm Kharadi), who was running green, shifted inwards.

COSMIC DANCER (S.Zervan) lugged-in in the straight and near 300 metres shifted in and inconvenienced OVERTIME MAGIC (M.A.Roushan) who scrapped the rails. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the colt and he reported that COSMIC DANCER was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left fore fetlock and left hind pastern. The colt had wolf tooth on either side. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

RACE NO.6(216) – THE RED BUTTONS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9

BAYBLUES (P.Trevor) was fractious whilst being stalled. The Trainer has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

Approaching 600 metres, FESTIVAL NIGHT (T.S.Jodha) was inconvenienced and steadied while racing on the inside of AIGAION (D.K.Ashish).

Passing 200 metres, DREAMLINER (R.Shelar) was hampered for a run as FOXTROT (Akshay) shifted in. Jockey Akshay has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

UNKNOWN REBEL (Kavraj Singh) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, PLAN B was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SUN HOT was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, CALYPSO QUEEN was observed to have a cut injury at the left hock. UNKNOWN REBEL, FOXTROT and AIGAION were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3^rd, 5^th and 6^th race viz.., ELECTRA, BOMBARDIER and AIGAION, and the special sample of ACT OF WAR (2^nd race), BELLA FIGURA (3^rd race), PORT BLAIR (4^th race) and PLAN B (6^th race),were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: HORSES OBSERVED TO HAVE BROKEN A BLOOD VESSEL DURING MORNING TRACK WORK :

The Sr.V.O. reported that the SORRENTO was observed to have broken a blood vessel after morning track work on 21/02/2013 and is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.
