RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED  5 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES. 

On a request from Trainer P. Shroff, permission was granted to Trainer Vishal to saddle his charges SANS PEUR (5th race) and KHAYYAM (6th race), at his (Trainer P. Shroff’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(205) – THE RED BUTTONS PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5 

 

At the start, STAR COMRADE (A. Sandesh. dr.2) shifted in on to ROMAN GOLD (S. Mosin, dr.1).

 

Passing 400 metres, RIDGEWOOD STAR (P. Trevor) shifted out due to which EIGER’S TIGER (Dashrath Singh) shied and went on to HIMALAYA (S. Zervan).

 

Jockey S. Zervan (HIMALAYA) reported the loss of his whip at about 250 metres from the winning post.

 

After the race, RIDGEWOOD STAR and STAR COMRADE were found to be sound. RIDGEWOOD STAR had lost its right fore plate.

 

RACE NO.2(206) – THE SPANIARDS INN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

 

At the start, SUGAR BAY (P. Trevor, dr. 4) shifted out and at the same time JOLEENE (S. Sunil, dr. 7) jumped awkwardly and shifted in, due to which CANNONBALL RUN (Dashrath Singh, dr. 5) and TINOGONA (App. D. M. Ayyar, dr. 6) were tightened for room.

 

Approaching 800 metres, HEART OF THE CITY (App. S. Joseph) shifted in on to JOLEENE (S. Sunil), who in turn went on to YOU’RE THE BOSS (H. G. Rathod) who had to be checked. Apprentice S. Joseph has been cautioned.

 

At about 150 metres, JOLEENE (S. Sunil) shifted in on to CANNONBALL RUN (Dashrath Singh) who was inconvenienced.

 

Jockey S. Zervan (ENTHRALLING) was observed to have dropped his hands before passing the Winning Post. On questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that the filly was hanging out, as such, to avoid any incident he had collected the filly. The explanation was noted.

 

After the race, ENTHRALLING was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ENTHRALLING, YOU’RE THE BOSS, TINOGONA and NIRBHAYA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(207)  – THE REVELATION DOUBLE STAKES:(About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 7

 

Soon after the start, JOSHUA (App. Santosh. G, dr.3) shifted in due to which EGYPTIANA (App. S. J. Sunil, dr.2) and WILD WAVES (T. S. Jodha, dr.1) were inconvenienced.

 

Passing 1000 metres, PHOENIX CAT (Dashrath Singh) shifted in on to HIMALAYAN QUEEN (Suraj Narredu).

 

Passing 300 metres, JOSHUA (App. Santosh G.) who racing on the haunches of PHOENIX CAT (Dashrath Singh) and ITSCARO (A. Sandesh), tried to force a passage between them and bumped PHOENIX CAT (Dashrath Singh) who was unbalanced. Subsequently, as there was insufficient room, App. Santosh. G (JOSHUA) had to check his mount and shift out.  App. Santosh G. has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Passing 200 metres, PHOENIX CAT (Dashrath Singh) shifted out on to JOSHUA (App. Santosh G.), who was tightened. Thereafter, JOSHUA (App. Santosh G.) shifted in on to PHOENIX CAT (Dashrath Singh), who in turn went on to ITSCARO (A. Sandesh) who was tightened along the rails. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

After the race, PHOENIX CAT was found to be sound, but having a gum injury. LA TRAVIATA and ITSCARO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(208) – THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  13

 

At the start, ICE AFFAIR (S. P. Ranjane, dr. 8) shifted in and at the same time WAY AHEAD (Amyn Merchant, dr. 6) shifted out, due to which VENI VIDI VICI (App. D. S. Daman, dr. 7) was tightened and dropped back.

 

Soon after the start, BLITZKRIEG (P. S. Chouhan, dr.4) shifted out and PHOENIX KNIGHT (S. Zervan, dr.12) shifted in and cut across the field, as a result the field between them was crowded due to which ICE AFFAIR (S. P. Ranjane, dr.8) ALIBOXER (A. Sandesh, dr.9) and MARCUS AURELIUS (S. Sunil, dr.10) were inconvenienced. On questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that his mount was hanging in and despite his effort to maintain a straight course the gelding had shifted in. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Approaching 800 metres, PHEONIX KNIGHT (S. Zervan) shifted in on to BLITZKRIEG (P. S. Chouhan) who was inconvenienced. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.

 

Jockey S. Sunil (MARCUS AURELIUS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence with regard to the use of the whip during the Mumbai Meeting, his Jockey’s license has been suspended with effect from 12th March, 2016 to 13th March, 2016 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, MONZA, PHOENIX KNIGHT and DANCING DAE’MON were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(209) – THE RUNNING FLAME DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 11

 

In the process of stalling the racing gear of MIDNIGHT ROMANCE came off. The mare was taken out and the gear was fixed. All the other horses were also unloaded as it took time to fix the racing gear.

 

At the start, MIDNIGHT ROMANCE (T. S. Jodha, dr. 9) shifted in and bumped AEOLUS MAXIMUS (J. Chinoy, dr. 8).

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (JAZZMYN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, JAZZMYN, VERBIER and SEVERUS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(210 )– THE DR.GOVIND R.GURBAXANI MEMORIAL TROPHY:(About) 1600 Metres –Runners - 8 

 

At the start, KHAYYAM (P. S. Chouhan) jumped out awkwardly.

 

At the start, JUST BY CHANCE (R. Vaibhav, dr. 6) shifted in thereby tightening HIS HIGHNESS (P. Trevor, dr. 5) and GLORIOUS OPINION (App. S. J. Sunil, dr. 4). Jockey R. Vaibhav has been cautioned.

 

After the race, NOSTALGIC MEMORIES, KHAYYAM and HIS HIGHNESS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(211) – THE SPANIARDS INN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 10

 

After the race, SHIVALIK STORY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR and EL WONDER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(212) – THE AUDI JUVENILE MULTI-MILLION : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 8

 

Tr. Vinesh has been fined Rs.5,000/- for accepting with his charge ALPINE EXPRESS whilst the filly was under medication and the filly was permitted to be withdrawn.

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, SPARKLING EYES was examined on 19/02/2016 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. 

 

Soon after the start, KRIEGER (A. Sandesh, dr.8) shifted in and went across ETERNAL SUNSHINE (P. S. Chouhan, dr.7). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

At about 900 metres, LADY DANEHILL (S. Zervan) shifted in, due to which MAKINO (J. Chinoy) had to be checked and SERENITA (P. Trevor) was tightened along the rails .  Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

Jockey P. S. Chouhan (ETERNAL SUNSHINE) reported the loss of his whip, passing the 200 metres.

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (SILKEN EYES) reported that his mount was hesitant to take the gaps and also shying away from horses on her outside.

 

DOMINATION (App. Yash Narredu) was placed fifth and MAKINO (J.Chinoy) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.9(213) –THE COLE GOLD TROPHY (DIV.II):(About) 1000 Metres–Runners–12

 

THERE SHE GOES (App. D. M. Ayyar) lost about a length at the start.

 

At the start, ELEKTRA KING (Amyn Merchant, dr.7) jumped out inwards on to SPEED OF SOUND (P. S. Chouhan, dr.6).

 

At the start, CHOTE NAWAB (T. S. Jodha, dr.8) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time ROYAL SAPPHIRE (J. Chinoy, dr.10) jumped out inwards, due to which WINDS OF CHANGE (Vikram Jodha, dr.9) was tightened.

 

Soon after the start, SPEED OF SOUND (P. S. Chouhan, dr.6) shifted in and went across STRIDES AHEAD (S. Sunil, dr.5) who had to be checked. Thereafter, SPEED OF SOUND further shifted in and bumped THEN AND NOW (S. P. Ranjane). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

Passing 300 metres, KHALEEFA (Altaf Sayyed) shifted in on to WINDS OF CHANGE (Vikram Jodha) who was tightened along the rails and had to be checked.

 

Approaching 200 metres, STELLENBOSCH (Akshay) shifted out and in the process took THERE SHE GOES (App. D. M. Ayyar) outwards.

 

After the race, ROYAL SAPPHIRE was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. HIMALAYA (1st race), HEART OF THE CITY (2nd race), EGYPTIANA (3rd race), DANCING PRINCE (4th race), SEVERUS (5th race), CHA CHA CHA (6th race), SHIVALIK STORY (7th race), KRIEGER (8th race) and ALTUS (9th race), and the special sample of STAR COMRADE (1st race) and ENTRALLING (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

Trainer C. Rajendra has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge PRICELESS GIRL in the Cole Gold Trophy (21/02/2016) while the filly was on Veterinary Ban. The filly was struck out at the acceptance stage.
