RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION.  RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

RACE NO.1(38) –THE SHIVALIK SHOWERS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  14   

 

CAESAR (P. S. Chouhan) was restless in the stall. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GOLD MAGIC (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 4) jumped inwards on to SAFFRON FLOWER (Santosh G., dr. 3) who had to be checked.

 

Approaching 800 metres, GANDALF (S. Joseph) shifted out and went across WHISPERING QUEEN (App. A. S. Peter) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. Joseph has been cautioned.

 

After the race, NAVIGATOR was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ETERNAL DANCER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(39) –THE CLINTON PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 6     

 

Passing 900 metres, NOTORIETY (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and inconveniencing BOSTONIA (S. Zervan). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Approaching 500 metres, PARISIAN (P. Trevor) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and taking the ground of MORISEIKI (N. S. Parmar). Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race PARISIAN was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.3(40) –THE POLISH PATRIOT PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  14    

 

SEASONS GREETINGS (P. S. Chouhan) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give the filly more gate practice before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 600 metres, SPRING GROVE (N. S. Parmar) was held up for room due to a tightly packed field and had to be checked.

 

Approaching 200 metres, DILBAR (M. Ayyar) veered in under the use of whip on to SEASONS GREETINGS (P. S. Chouhan) who had to be steadied. After questioning, Jockey M. Ayyar has been fined Rs.2,000/- .

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that KALINA collapsed after the winning post. The mare did not respond to symptomatic treatment and died due to cardiac shock.

 

After the race DILBAR was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind fetlock. OFFICER IN COMMAND had lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.4(41) –THE ONASSIS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12     

 

AEGON (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, LA PEREGRINA (J. Chinoy) leaned outwards and at the same time EL CAPITAN (P. Trevor) shifted in and they made contact.

 

Passing 300 metres, DEFIANCE (P. S. Chouhan) was inclined outward despite the rider’s efforts, as a result went across WILLOWS (Yash Naredu) who had to be checked and change course. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race TWINKLING STAR was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore coronet.

 

RACE NO.5(42) –THE EDGAR DeSYLVA TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  9     

 

ANATEVKA (App. Kirtish Bhagat) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to school the mare to proceed to the start, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 900 metres, due to a tightly packed field, JOAQUIN (P. S. Chouhan) was held for room and had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 200 metres, MOUNT MORIAH (P. Trevor) leaned outwards under pressure onto QUESTINA (A. Sandesh) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, JOAQUIN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(43) –THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 8   

 

WIZARD OF STOCKS (Neeraj Rawal) took a fly jump thus losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, CAPRISCA (P.S. Chouhan, dr. 4) jumped inwards and went across TRULY EPIC (C. S. Jodha, dr. 3) who was marginally slow to begin causing it to be checked.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, JULIETTE (A. Sandesh) hung-in despite the rider’s efforts and went across TROUVAILLE (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied.  Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

RACE NO.7(44) –THE MASEEHA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  14     

 

SOCRATES (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give the colt more gate practice before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the Red Marker, IMMORTALITY (P. S. Chouhan) was observed to have clipped the heels of FLAMEOFTHEFOREST (Yash Narredu) and stumbled.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (VIRASAT) reported that his mount hung out passing the 300 metres and thereafter in his effort to correct the same had shifted in more than anticipated causing WHO DARES WINS (A. Sandesh) to be steadied along the rails. In view of the above, Trainer Vishal Gikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu reported the loss of whip passing the 100 metres, this being his first instance of whip loss during the current Mumbai Meeting 2020-21’ no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, GOLD MEDALIST was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FLAMEOFTHEFOREST was observed to have an injury at the left hind hock. WHO DARES WINS and VIRASAT were sound in the trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd and 5th race, viz. PARISIAN & MOUNT MORIAH, and the urine and blood sample of JULIETTE & WIZARD OF STOCKS (Winner & Second Placed – 6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
