RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT IN THE 1200 METRES CHUTE
On a request from Trainer S. K. Sunderji, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charge TRUE GRIT in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer S. K. Sunderji’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Mansoor Shah, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi to saddle his charges WINDFALL (1st race), LOCARNO (2nd race), DOMINATION (3rd race) and ROYSTON ROCK (5th race), at his own (Trainer Mansoor Shah’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 – THE GOLDEN EDITION PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 15 Runners
CUPIDO (Yash Narredu) jumped out slow and shifted out and was steadied, thus losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, BIDSTONE HILL (S. S. Baria, dr.5) shifted in thereby inconveniencing EMOTIONLESS (P. S. Chouhan, dr.4).
Soon after the start, QUEENS BEST (A. Imran Khan, dr.1) shifted out on to SMART CHOICE (N. S. Parmar, dr.2), who in turn shifted out on to TRUE GRIT (R. Ajinkya, dr.3). Jockey A. Imran Khan has been cautioned.
Passing 300 metres, ABERLOUR (S. Jaykumar) shifted out under pressure and carried SASSY LASS (Neeraj Rawal) outwards. Jockey S. Jaykumar has been cautioned.
Passing 200 metres, ABERLOUR (S. Jaykumar) shifted out and at the same time CUPIDO (Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby inconveniencing ARRECIFE (Bhawani Singh).
After the race, ABERLOUR and ARRECIFE were trotted and found to be sound. ABERLOUR had a cut injury at the left fore bulb of heel and TRUE GRIT had an abrasion at the left hind coronet.
RACE NO.2 – THE HURRICANE PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners
Jockey A. Sandesh was declared to ride WISE CHILD in this race. However, Jockey A. Sandesh was suspended under Mysore Race Club rules of racing and had appealed against the same. The appeal in question was heard on the day of the declaration and was rejected. As such, Trainer M. K. Jadhav was permitted to declare Jockey P. Trevor.
As App. S. Joseph (WIND CRAFT) was unable to draw the proper weight on being weighed out, Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi was permitted to declare App. Raj Pawar on his mount WIND CRAFT. Further, after questioning App. S. Joseph, he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for having accepted the ride when he was unable to do the weight.
Soon after the start, DICTATOR (Santosh G., dr.10) shifted out on to STALLONE (G. Amit, dr.11).
Soon after the start, BENEFICIAL (R. Ajinkya, dr.5) shifted in thereby clipping the heels of WIND CRAFT (App. Raj Pawar, dr.4) and stumbled unbalancing its rider.
Passing 100 metres, HEROINE (Yash Narredu) shifted in and brushed the haunches of JUGGERNAUT (Raghuveer Singh) and had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, GLORIOUS LAND and HEROINE (examined on 21/07/2018) were trotted and found to be sound. GLORIOUS LAND had an abrasion at the right hind bulb of heel.
RACE NO.3 – THE HURRICANE PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners
JIMBO (S. Mosin) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to take remedial measures and ensure that the gelding reaches the starting point on time in the future.
WILD FIRE (Dashrath Singh, dr.4) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head thus losing about 2 lengths at the start. After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that his filly was standing with her head up and as such not ready when the start was effected. The Stipendiary Stewards would be looking into the incident and a report will be submitted shortly.
At the start, ARC SHINE (App. M. Ayyar, dr. 10) who was drawn between CLASSICUS (Bhawani Singh, dr. 9) and JIMBO (S. Mosin, dr. 11) was tightened. Thereafter, PRINCES P (P. Trevor, dr.8) shifted out and made contact with CLASSICUS (Bhawani Singh, dr.9).
Soon after the start, ARC SHINE (App. M. Ayyar) shifted out and carried JIMBO (S. Mosin) outwards. App M. Ayyar has been cautioned.
After the race, WILD FIRE was trotted and found to be sound. GOD’S OWN had a gum injury.
RACE NO.4 – THE GAMBLE FOR LOVE TROPHY : (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners
SUPER SUNSHINE (S. A. Amit) planted in the stall and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
REMEMBER ME (Raghuveer Singh) jumped out awkwardly and lost about 2 lengths at the start.
Soon after the start, CONGRESSIONAL (Santosh G.) shifted out on to HOLY SMOKE (K. Nazil).
Soon after the start, due to a tightly packed field, EXCELLENT GOLD (Dashrath Singh) shifted in brushing the haunches of SUMMER RAYS (S. Zervan) and thereafter shifted out and made contact with CONGRESSIONAL (Santosh G.).
Passing 1100 metres, BRYNHILL (N. B. Kuldeep) shifted in and went across EXCELLENT GOLD (Dashrath Singh) forcing the latter to be checked. Jockey N. B. Kuldeep has been cautioned.
Passing 600 metres, SUMMER RAYS (S. Zervan) shifted in thereby tightening MYGRATOR (P. S. Chouhan) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. After questioning Jockey S. Zervan, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 400 metres, MYGRATOR (P. S. Chouhan) was held for room due to a tightly packed field and had to be checked.
Approaching 200 metres, TRAHERNE (A. Imran Khan) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled thereby dislodging the rider and due to this incident, REMEMBER ME (Raghuveer Singh) who was racing on its haunches, collided into TRAHERNE and dislodged its rider.
The Sr. V.O. reported that TRAHERNE (A. Imran Khan) stopped at the 200 metres, then walked 50 metres ahead and fell on the lateral side. On examination, it was found that the gelding had broken its right shoulder. The gelding was euthanized on humane grounds after obtaining consent of the Trainer.
After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (EXCELLENT GOLD) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, SUMMER RAYS was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon. EXCELLENT GOLD was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.5 – THE GOLDEN EDITION PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 15 Runners
Soon after the start, ISINIT (S. Joseph) shifted out and carried ROYSTON ROCK (App. Raj Pawar) outwards, who in turn shifted out and inconvenienced RAIN DANCE (D. R. Shubham).
Approaching the Red Marker, ROYSTON ROCK (App. Raj Pawar) shifted in and sharply cut across ISINIT (S. Joseph) forcing the latter to be checked. After questioning App. Raj Pawar, he has been fined Rs. 2,000/-. Further, he has been referred to the Riding Instructor to improve his riding skills.
Approaching 200 metres, DANCE THE DREAM (P. Trevor) shifted in and went across MAKE IT SHINE (R. Ajinkya) who had to be steadied and also tightened MINE THAT BIRD (S. A. Amit) forcing the latter to drop back thereby inconveniencing MAJESTICAL (Bhawani Singh). Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs. 2,000/-.
Jockey N. S. Parmar (ASTRAL FLARE) reported the loss of whip passing 200 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Pune Meeting 2018, no action has been initiated.
After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (TILL END OF TIME) reported that soon after the start, he was momentarily unbalanced due to which he lost his stirrup which he regained immediately.
After the race Jockey C. S. Jodha (DIVINE POWER) reported that his mount was shying outwards from 400 metres onwards. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ROYSTON ROCK was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind coronet. DANCE THE DREAM and ASTRAL FLARE were found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.6 – THE DR.S.R.CAPTAIN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners
Jockey A. Sandesh was declared to ride ENCHANTED in this race. However, Jockey A. Sandesh was suspended under Mysore Race Club rules of racing and had appealed against the same. The appeal in question was heard on the day of the declaration and was rejected. As such, Trainer M. Narredu was permitted to declare Jockey S. Zervan.
At the start, AUGURY (M. A. Roushan, dr.12) jumped outwards brushing against its starting stall. Thereafter, the filly veered outwards, crashed into the outer railing and raced on the extreme outside. Due to the above incident, Jockey M. A. Roushan was observed to have lost his stirrups. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race before next accepting with her to race.
At the start, BAYMAX (P. Trevor, dr.1) jumped outwards thereby inconveniencing and taking the ground of SANCERRE (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) and WINDSOR FORTUNE (Bhawani Singh, dr.3). Thereafter, ENCHANTED (S. Zervan, dr.6) shifted in thereby tightening IMPROVISSO (D. A. Naik, dr.4).
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (BAYMAX) reported that his mount ran green throughout the race.
After the race, Jockey S. Zervan (ENCHANTED) reported that his whip got entangled with the neck strap whereby he lost his whip in the final 100 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Pune Meeting, no action has been initiated.
After the race, IMPROVISSO was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind coronet
RACE NO.7 – THE SEVERRIANO PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 13 Runners
Jockey A. Sandesh was declared to ride ARASHI in this race. However, Jockey A. Sandesh was suspended under Mysore Race Club rules of racing and had appealed against the same. The appeal in question was heard on the day of the declaration and was rejected. As such, Trainer Vishal Gaikwad was permitted to declare Jockey P. Trevor.
At the start, HOPEILICIOUS (T. S. Jodha, dr.3) jumped outwards on to CRISTO BOSS (N. S. Parmar, dr.4), who in turn shifted out on to IMPERIAL HERITAGE (C. Umesh, dr.5).
At the start, ANGELS HARMONY (G. Amit, dr.7) jumped outwards thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which ANDALUCIA (S. Zervan, dr.8) shifted out on to HUZZAH’S GRACE (C. S. Jodha, dr.9), who in turn shifted out inconveniencing ASPEN (Bhawani Singh, dr.10).
Passing 1000 metres, due to a tightly packed field, HOPEILICIOUS (T. S. Jodha) was tightened for room and dropped back on to SMART N NOBLE (A. Imran Khan), forcing the latter to be checked and change course thereby inconveniencing ANDALUCIA (S. Zervan) who was racing on his outside.
Passing 150 metres, ANGELS HARMONY (G. Amit) was observed to have shifted out and made contact with ARASHI (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied. Jockey G.A mit has been fined Rs.2,000/- for falling to change his whip hand despite his mount shifting out.
After the race, LUCKY LUCIANO and ARASHI (examined on 21/07/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.8 – THE CLASSIC TALK PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 15 Runners
At the request of Trainer C. Rajendra, NAME OF THE GAME was examined at the stables at 1300 hours on 20/07/2018 and was found to have swelling on the left fore tendon, as such the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.
Soon after the start ADAMS BIGNING (App. D. S. Daman) who was racing between BEWITCHED (P. Trevor) and PADMAKOSA (T. S. Jodha), was tightened for room and had to be steadied. Jockeys P. Trevor and T. S. Jodha have been cautioned.
After the race, PADMAKOSA was trotted and found to be sound but having an abrasion at the right hind fetlock.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th race, viz. COLOMBIANAPRINCESS, HOUSE OF COMMONS, TIMELESS and ENCHANTED, and the special sample of DANCE THE DREAM (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th April, 2018 considered Appeal dated 14th April, 2018 from Jockey Amyn Merchant in the above connection.
The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted including Jockey Amyn Merchant’s grounds of appeal and heard the submissions made by him as also Trainer Asad Siddiqui and having viewed the video tape recording of Race No. 256 (including the blow up picture - in normal and slow motion) as also the video recording of Race No.154 (ARC SHINE - Winner), deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds, decided to reject his appeal and forfeit the deposit. Accordingly, the decision of the Stewards of the Club stands.
In view of the stay granted to Jockey Amyn Merchant, his punishment will now read as under :
Should he apply for a Jockey’s license for the Season 2018/19, the same will be granted to him, however, his license will stand suspended w.e.f. 20th July, 2018 to 4th August, 2018 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).
