METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE
CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES, 3 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY
UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH,
RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES
AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer P.
Shroff, permission was granted to Trainer Vishal to saddle his charge MINE
FOREVER in the 2nd race, at his (Trainer P. Shroff’s) risk and
responsibility.

Vinesh, permission was granted to Trainer Nina M. Lalvani to saddle his charges
SHIVALIK ROSE (4th race) and RAPID GIRL (10th race),
at his (Trainer P. Shroff’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(195) – THE BOMBAY
GYMKHANATROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -

At
the request of Trainer Vijay Kasbekar, CUT DIAMOND was examined at 1130 hours
on 20/02/2016 and was found to be suffering from diarrhoea. As such, the mare
was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds.
At the start, PRETTY IN PATPONG (S. P.
Ranjane, dr.2) shifted out thereby inconveniencing MAGIC VISION (Altaf Sayyed,
dr.3).
Soon after the start, ROYAL CLASSIC
(App. Parbat Singh, dr.4) shifted in and made contact with PRETTY IN PATPONG (S.
P. Ranjane, dr.2).
Soon after the start, App. Santosh G.
(ALFREDO), in an effort to settle his mount, shifted in thereby inconveniencing
ROYAL CLASSIC (App. Parbat Singh).
Approaching 500 metres, ROYAL CLASSIC
(App. Parbat Singh) shifted out on to MR MORRISON (App. S. J. Sunil) who had to
be steadied.
After the race, App. S. J. Sunil (MR
MORRISON) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight.
An enquiry has been initiated into the
running and riding of MR MORRISON and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, ROCK THE TURF, MR
MORRISON, SEVEN SEAS and PRETTY IN PATPONG were found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(196) – THE OTTERS
CLUB TROPHY:
(About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 3
Passing 500 metres, ZANDER (App. Yash Narredu)
shifted out and went on to DEEP DIVER (Dashrath Singh). On questioning, App.
Yash Narredu stated that despite his efforts the gelding had suddenly shifted
out. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that
ZANDER was found to be sound, but having a wolf tooth on the right side.
Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measures before next
accepting to race the gelding.
RACE NO.3(197) – THE
BOMBAY PRESIDENCY RADIO CLUB TROPHY:(About) 2000 Metres – Runners –

At the start, ZABROK (J. Chinoy dr. 5)
shifted in and made contact with SECRET FLAME (Kishore Kadam dr.4).
At the start, RUNNING CLOUD (Shrikant
Kamble dr. 7) shifted in and made contact with PRACS (App. S. J. Sunil dr. 6).
Passing 1200 metres, JESTER (Sandeep
Jadhav) who was racing between RUNNING CLOUD (Shrikant Kamble) and ZABROK (J.
Chinoy), was tightened for room and dropped back.
Passing 300 metres, JESTER (Sandeep
Jadhav) shifted out on to RUNNING CLOUD (Shrikant Kamble) and at the same time
ZABROK (J. Chinoy) shifted in, due to which MOVE IN TIME (R. Vaibhav) was
tightened and held up for a clear run.
Apprentice S. J. Sunil (PRACS) was
observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
This being his third offence with regard to the use of the whip during
the Mumbai Meeting, his Apprentice Jockey’s license has been suspended with
effect from 12th March, 2016 to 13th March, 2016 (both
days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).
After the race, MOVE IN TIME was found
to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right hind cannon. ZABROK and YODHA
SHAKTI were found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(198) – THE MALABAR
HILL CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11
Soon after the start, RAJASTHAN
ROYALTY (R. S. Deora, dr.5) shifted out and made contact with LAKSH (App.
Parbat Singh, dr.6), who in turn went on to GUNGA DIN (J. Chinoy, dr.7).
Approaching 1200 metres, in an effort
to settle his mount, App. Parbat Singh (LAKSH) shifted in and bumped RAJASTHAN
ROYALTY (R. S. Deora). Thereafter, LAKSH (App. Parbat Singh) further shifted
in, forcing RAJASTHAN ROYALTY (R. S. Deora) to be checked and drop back. App.
Parbat Singh has been cautioned.
Passing 350 metres, TONTERIA (S.
Zervan) shifted out and inconvenienced GUNGA DIN (J. Chinoy). Thereafter,
TONTERIA shifted out under the use of the whip and went on to QUATRO (App. Yash
Narredu). Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing 100 metres, FRINGE BENEFIT
(App. S. Joseph) shifted out and went across TONTERIA (S. Zervan). App. S.
Joseph has been cautioned.
After the race, RAJASTHAN ROYALTY,
TONTERIA and FRINGE BENEFIT were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(199) – THE AMATEUR
RIDERS’ CLUB TROPHY (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 7
At the start, LAVENDER BLUE (P. S.
Chouhan, dr. 4) shifted out on to PHENOMENAL MEMORY (S. Zervan, dr. 5), who in
turn went on to JOSS (Dashrath Singh, dr. 6).
RACE
NO.6(200)– THE ROYAL BOMBAY YACHT CLUB TROPHY:(About) 1400
Metres –Runners-15
Passing 150 metres, MASTERSTRIKE (J.
Chinoy) shifted out on to LAS SALINAS (Zameer Sayyed).
After
the race, SHIVALIK SKIES was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not
to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed
fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, SHIVALIK SKIES, ARMEL
and TERRIFIC were found to be sound.
RACE NO.7(201) – THE WILLINGDON
SPORTS CLUB TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 8
After being stalled, FOREVER FREE (App.
S. J. Sunil) played up and flipped over in the stall and cast herself
underneath the stall. As such, all the horses were unloaded along with the
filly. In view of the above, FOREVER FREE was withdrawn on veterinary
grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order and its Starting Stall
Certificate has been revoked.
Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been
fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge CHILY CHILY in the paddock without a
Tongue Strap, a declared equipment on the gelding. The Tongue Strap was put on
before the gelding left the paddock.
After the race, App. Yash Narredu
(MISS ARAZAN) reported that his mount was hanging out throughout the race.
Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next
accepting to race the filly.
After the race, Jockey Sandeep Jadhav
(CHILY CHILY) reported that his mount was running green.
After the race, MISS ARAZAN was
observed to have a cut injury on the poll. BE BOLD and CHILY CHILY were found
to be sound.
RACE NO.8(202) – THE CRICKET
CLUB OF INDIA TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 19
FAIRFARREN (J.Chinoy) jumped out slow
and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop. Trainer Nina M. Lalvani has
been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the
satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting
to race.
At the start, BIG BRO (App. G. Amit,
dr.7) shifted out on to EMERALD FORTUNE (Altaf Sayyed, dr.8) who had to be
checked.
At the start, VICTORY DANCER (S. P.
Ranjane, dr. 14) shifted out and at the same time AZALEA (App. S. J. Sunil, dr.
16) shifted in, due to which SPEEDO (App. D. S. Daman, dr. 15) was tightened
for room.
Soon after the start, ACKER BILK (P.
Trevor) under urgings shifted in before passing the Red Marker thereby bumping
DESERT LILY (App. Raghuveer Singh) who in turn shifted in and went across BIG
BRO (App. G. Amit).
Passing 900 metres, KISS THE STAR
(App. D. M. Ayyar) shifted in thereby tightening BIG BRO (App. G. Amit) who had
to be checked.
Passing 900 metres, ACKER BILK (P.
Trevor) shifted in on to DESERT LILY (App. Raghuveer Singh) who in turn shifted
in thereby tightening GOLD STREAK (App. N. B. Kuldeep) and AME (Vikram Walkar).
Jockey P.Trevor has been cautioned.
An objection was lodged by Mr. H. J.
Antia, trainer of BIG BRO (App. G. Amit, Placed Second) against ACKER BILK (P.
Trevor, Placed First). The reason being, Jockey P. Trevor (ACKER BILK, dr.13)
jumped out and although he had a clear run, he still shifted in with total
disregard to the other runners and knocked a horse on his inside, who in turn
knocked his horse BIG BRO who lost position, despite which he was the fastest
moving horse in the end and finished a good second.
After considering the submissions made
by the Jockeys concerned as also Tr. H. J. Antia, in conjunction with that of
the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to
over-rule the objection.
The Stewards after the last race
interviewed Jockey P. Trevor for careless riding on his mount ACKER BILK and
having heard him and having viewed the video of the race, were not satisfied
with the explanation tendered by him. However, keeping in mind that he had
admitted his guilt and apologized for the same, the Stewards took a lenient
view and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 12th March,
2016 for careless riding. Further, he was warned that on a repetition of a
similar offence, severe action would be initiated against him.
An enquiry has been initiated into the
running and riding of AME and NIZHONI and a report will be submitted shortly.
After
the race, VICTORY DANCER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not
to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed
fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.9(203)–THE NATIONAL
SPORTS CLUB OF INDIA TROPHY (DIV.I):(About) 1400
Metres–Runners–11
ARMANDO (Dashrath Singh) hung out in
the straight and went across ADRENO (I. Pasha) and LHOTSE (S. G. Prasad).
Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next
accepting to race the gelding.
An enquiry has been initiated into the
running and riding of LHOTSE and a report will be submitted shortly.
The Sr. V.O. reported that JAPANESE (P.
S. Chouhan) stopped galloping about 200 metres from the winning post. On
examination, the gelding was found to be sore by the right fore leg. First Aid
treatment was given on the track and the gelding was sent to the Equine
Hospital in the Horse Ambulance for further management. The gelding has to be
passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, ARMANDO was found to
be sound.
RACE NO.10(204)–THE BOMBAY
GYMKHANA TROPHY(DIV.I):(About)1200 Metres–Runners–10
At the start, SEACRETS (P. S. Chouhan,
dr.6) shifted out and at the same time NOBLE LADY (A. Sandesh, dr.9) shifted
in, due to which ASAHI (Kishore Kadam, dr.7) and DELTIN (App. Yash Narredu,
dr.8) were tightened.
An enquiry has been initiated into the
running and riding of WINGS OF GLORY and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, SEACRETS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The
gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, BROWN DYNAMITE, ASAHI and WINGS OF GLORY (examined on
21/02/2016) were found to be sound.

THE OTHER SONG (6th race), ONE AIM (7th race), ACKER
BILK (8th race), EXCELONCE (9th race) and SEACRETS (10th
race), and the special sample of MR MORRISON (1st race), WINGS OF
GLORY (10th race) and ALPINE EXPRESS (Not declared to start in the 8th
race on 21/02/2016), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
