RACE NO.1(145)  – THE  SATINELLO TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10

BONGANI (Shrikant Kamble) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Soon after the start, ILLUSTRIOUS (Dashrath Singh) shifted ground inwards as the mare lugged in and in the process hampered the running of APOCALYPSE (S.Zervan). Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

Near 300 metres, ENCORE (P.S.Chouhan) was held up for a run and near 200 metres, shifted out and in the process went on to MOUNTAIN SONG (S.P.Ranjane), who in turn went on to GOOD LOOKING (Imran Chisty). Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

While straightening for home, ILLUSTRIOUS (Dashrath Singh) shifted out across ENCORE (P.S.Chouhan) who changed course inwards. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

Trainer Bezan Chenoy was questioned with regard to the comparative performance of ENCORE in this race where she ran second as compared to her earlier run in Race no 79 where she was unplaced. The Trainer stated that the mare had travelled 200 metres less this time and considering that the mare was in contention till about 200 metres from home, the shortened trip has helped her. He added that on the previous occasion App.Prasad rode her and had not handled her well. Also, today’s race was restricted to horses 5 years old and over and the mare was available at longer odds. The explanation has been noted.

An Enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of GOOD LOOKING and also into the comparative performance of ILLUSTRIOUS and a report will be submitted shortly.

BONGANI (Shrikant Kamble) lugged-in in the straight.  Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

An objection was lodged by Jockey A.Sandesh, rider of  IMPRESSIVE TOUCH (Placed Second) against BONOBO (C.S.Jodha, Placed First). The reason being, at the 300 metres marker Jockey C.S.Jodha hit him on the hand and again at 200 metres he hit his hand and in the process he lost the whip when he was gaining ground and he had to momentarily stop riding, otherwise he would have won the race.
