RACE DAY REPORTS

THERE WERE NO FALSE RAILS.

 

On a request from Trainer Ivor Fernandes, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge VICTORIOUS CAUSE in the 1st race, at his (Trainer Ivor Fernandes‘) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer M.Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Damodaran D.Pillai to saddle his charges CORNELIAN, OPEN OFFER, PRINCESS LOVE and OKAVANGO  in the 4th, 6th, 9th and 10th race respectively, at his (Trainer M.Narredu‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(231) – THE CLASSIC ROCK PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

YARDSTICK (Ishwar Pardeshi, dr.5) shifted in before the Red Marker and went across the field on his inside and caused interference to ZOE (Dharmendar) who in turn inconvenienced ASHWA YODHAA (Nirmal Jodha). Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Near 500 meters, OVERTIME MAGIC (Satish Nayak) shifted in and hampered the running of ZOE (Dharmendar). Jockey Satish Nayak has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

After the race, ONLY WHITE and SONG OF AFRICA were found to be sound. ONLY WHITE had an abrasion at the right hind fetlock, SONG OF AFRICA had a gum injury and VICTORIOUS CAUSE had an abrasion at the left hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.29(232) – THE  D.N.ZODGE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Jockey S.Shinde (VENUS MARINA) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of whip, while straightening for home.

 

After the race, DEMONIC and WAR PRINCESS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(233) – THE  ROAD RUNNER PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

                                       

After the race, AWESOME SMILE was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel.  IN THE LIMELIGHT, GLORIA and TITLEIST were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(234) – THE KOJAGIRI PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

After the race, PUMBA was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind tendon. AMAYA, TARA and CAESARS WIFE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(235)  – THE  NITROUS PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the start FIRST GLANCE (Vikram Jodha) tried to veer outside thereby losing ground.

 

Near 500 meters FIRST GLANCE (Vikram Jodha) lugged-in and hampered the running of ZORRO (Shrikant Kamble). Trainer H.J. Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

RACE NO.6(236) – THE  PARTY WHIP PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

After the race, ZEDA was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.7(237) – THE  NITROUS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the starting gate, before loading, EARTH ORBIT reared up and suffered a cut injury just above the right hind fetlock. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (GIANT LUCK) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for coming late into the paddock.

 

ALLSTAR (C.S.Jodha) lugged out soon after entering the straight. Since the filly was reported to be sore by the left fore leg, no further action has been initiated into the matter.

 

Near 200 meters ALLSTAR (C S Jodha) and ADVANCE TO CONTACT (Nirmal Jodha) made contact with each other.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after completion of the race,  Jockey C.S.Jodha dismounted from his mount ALL STAR near 2200 metres. On examination, the filly was observed to be sore from the left fore leg. First Aid Treatment was given and the filly was sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance for further management. Subsequently, the Equine Hospital reported that ALL STAR had broken her left knee, as such, the filly was euthanized on humane grounds the same evening.

 

RACE NO.8(238) – THE  PUNE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 13 Runners

 

ACE JET (N.S.Parmar) jumped out slow, losing about 6 lengths at the start. Trainer  Altaf Husain has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been fined Rs.1,000/- for presenting his charge HAY DAY without Tongue Strap, the equipment for the use of which prior permission was obtained. The gelding ran with a Tongue Strap.

 

At the start, BURGUNDY ROSE (A.Sandesh, dr.12) shifted in as the filly was being settled and in the process went across the field.

 

After the race, GIBRAN was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.9(239) – THE  CLASSIC ROCK PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Approaching 300 meters, TAJ E SHAHI (App.Sandeep Jadhav) shifted out and hampered the running of ROCK THE TURF (Vikram Walkar). App.Sandeep Jadhav has been cautioned.

 

PRINCESS LOVE (J.E.Pereira) lugged out while negotiating the bend. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Near 200 meters PADMAKOSA (N.S.Parmar) appeared to be in distress and was pulled up by its rider. Subsequently, the Sr. VO reported that the filly was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of PADMAKOSA even though the filly bled and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, PRINCESS LOVE was found to be sound, but having a cut injury above the left hind hock and ROCK THE TURF had a cut injury at the right fore pastern. PADMAKOSA was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(240)  – THE  SURESH MAHINDRA TROPHY: (About) 3200 Metres – 4 Runners

 

Jockey P.Trevor (NATIVE KNIGHT) was observed to have used the whip used in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence with regard to the use of whip, the matter was reported to the Stewards.

 

The Stewards interviewed Jockey P.Trevor and having heard the submissions made by him and having viewed the video recording of the race, decided to suspect his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 17th November, 2013 to 21st November, 2013 for using the whip in excessive of the prescribed limit on his mount NATIVE KNIGHT (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, MASEEHA was found to be sore by the left fore leg and also had a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel and a saddle mark on the right side. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NATIVE KNIGHT and OKAVANGO were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th race viz. DREAMS OF YOU, PUMBA, ZEDA and HAY DAY, and the special sample of PLAYER (8th race) and PADMAKOSA (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : MOCK RACE HELD ON 19/10/2013 :

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that LAZOR RAZOR was observed after the mock race to be sore by the left hind leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
