FLASE RAILS WERE PLACED 2.5 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST.

RACE NO.1 (69) – THE STAR WISH PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners
ALLEGIANCE (Shrikant Kamble) was slowly out and ROMANTIC BEAUTY (Amyn Merchant) reared up as the start was affected, both the horses losing 4 lengths each at the start. Trainers Narendra Lagad and C.D.Katrak have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey Dashrath Singh (BAT YAM) reported that his mount ran unsettled during the race.
ALLEGIANCE (Shrikant Kamble) lugged-in in the straight and near 300 metres, shifted in and made contact with BAT YAM (Dashrath Singh). Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Jockey Amyn Merchant (ROMANTIC BEAUTY) reported that his mount reared up as the start was affected and thereafter did not respond to his urgings. A Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.
After the race, TWITTILLATOR was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. SOLI DEO GLORIA, LOLA, BAT YAM, ROMANTIC BEAUTY and ALLEGIANCE (examined at the stables) were found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 (70) – THE WAVES OF GLORY PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, TELL ME MORE (Shrikant Kamble) reared up and fly jumped losing ground.
Passing 400 metres, PERSIAN (S.Sunil), who lugged in during the race, shifted in and tightened PEZZONOVANTE (App.Nikhil Bhujbal), who, while dropping back, inconvenienced MOUNTAIN PRINCE (Kavraj Singh). Jockey S.Sunil has been cautioned for making insufficient effort to control his mount.
Approaching 200 metres, PERSIAN (S.Sunil) was hampered for a run while racing on the inside of JACQUELINE SMILE (A.Ashhad Asbar).
After the race, POLAR ZONE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern. PERSIAN and JACQUELINE SMILE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(71) – THE HER MAJESTY TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – 5 Runners
After the race, ENLIGHTENMENT was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, OCEAN AND BEYOND was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.
RACE NO.4(72) – THE EVATINA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners
TAJ E SHAHI was permitted to be withdrawn on compassionate grounds.
HOT PEPPER (T.S.Jodha) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. GATES OF HEAVEN (S.S.Baria) was restless in the stall and sat momentarily on its haunches and had to be corrected. Trainers S.S.Shah and Mansoor Shah have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
GATES OF HEAVEN (S.S.Baria, dr.1), after an awkward jump out drifted out and caused a chain reaction, in which THREE ROSES (Dashrath Singh, dr.2), STARSONBOARD (Imran Chisty, dr.4), LADY WILLINGDON (P Kamlesh, dr.5) and ZANTHOS (Nirmal Jodha, dr.6) were forced outwards.
Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait and Jockey Nirmal Jodha were questioned regarding the running and riding of ZANTHOS and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Nirmal Jodha, he has been fined Rs.5000/- for riding an Injudicious race and Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been cautioned.
After the race, HOT PEPPER, ZANTHOS, GATES OF HEAVEN and STARSONBOARD were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(73) – THE DR.K.VASUDEVAN TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners
Trainer N.B.Chenoy has been fined Rs.1000/- for bringing her charge KNIGHTON in the Paddock with Pacifiers instead of Pacifier Blinkers, for the use of which prior permission was obtained. The horse left the paddock with Pacifier Blinkers.
JACQUES (Nirmal Jodha) whipped around after jump out and dropped the rider. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a mock race, before next accepting to race.
After the race, ETESIAN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, SECRET SERVICE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind bulb of heel. KNIGHTON was found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(74) – THE EVATINA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
ZOE (J.Chinoy), PAPAKURA (T.S.Jodha) and IL MORAN (I.Pasha) were reluctant to be stalled. ICE AGE (V.Phadke) was restless in the stall. Trainers Altaf Hussain, S.S.Shah, M.Narredu and C.D.Katrak have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey J.Chinoy (ZOE) reported that his right shoulder brushed the gate as the filly jumped out.
Jockey V.Phadke (ICE AGE) has been cautioned for failing to ride out his mount to complete advantage before passing the Post.
After the race, ALKAZI was observed to have an abrasion at the left fore fetlock, SHAM SUNDER had an abrasion at the left hind coronet and PAPAKURA had two broken upper incisor tooth.
RACE NO.7(75) – THE F.D.WADIA TROPHY (GR.2): (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners
MANYATTA (Suraj Narredu) lugged out briefly near 400 metres. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
After the race, SILVER BIRCH was found to be sound but having a cut injury at the left hock, and HALLE had an abrasion at both hind fetlocks.
SUPREME MINSTREL (B.Sreekanth) was placed fifth and HALLE (P.Trevor) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.8 (76) – THE WAVES OF GLORY PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners
BONOBO (C.S.Jodha) hesitated at jump out, losing about 4 lengths. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, HOUDINI (A.J.Nilesh, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to MAGDALENA (App.Tushar Nemane, dr.5) who went out on to REINSTATE (Shrikant Kamble, dr.6).
Near 1200 metres, SENOR HILL (T.S.Jodha) lost position.
Near 1200 metres, CHINGARI (Akash Agarwal) stumbled and dropped the rider.
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that soon after the start, HOUDINI (A.J.Nilesh) shifted out and hampered the running of SADDLERS RULE (Amyn Merchant) and near 800 metres bumped and bored SADDLERS RULE on a few occasions despite the Jockey’s efforts, forcing the latter to travel wide. Also, HOUDINI hung out throughout the race whereby the gelding could not be ridden out satisfactorily. Trainer Faisal A Abbas was asked to show the gelding in a Mock race to the satisfaction of Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting to race the gelding.
The Stewards considered the above report and held the view that the behavior of HOUDINI was a danger to the other horses in a race and hence decided to ban him from racing in Western India.
Near 200 metres, SNOW BALL ((S.N.Chavan) shifted in and tightened SENOR HILL (T.S.Jodha). Jockey S.N.Chavan has been cautioned.
Jockey Amyn Merchant (SADDLERS RULE) reported loss of his whip between 150 and 100 metres from the Winning Post.
After the race, SENOR HILL was observed to have a cut injury at both hind pastern and REINSTATE had lost its right fore plate. THEOLOGY and MAGDALENA were found to be sound.
RACE NO.9 (77) – THE SEA RULER PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, ACT OF WAR (A.Sandesh) jumped awkwardly outwards.
Jockey D.K.Ashish (ANGEL CROWN) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount and a further sum of Rs.2000/- for improper use of the whip, wherein he has used the whip with excessive frequency.
After the race, GRANDE DAME was observed to have lost its right fore shoe. SWEARING IN and HISTORICA were found to be sound.
RACE NO.10 (78) – THE AURORA AUREALIS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners
At the start, VICTOIRE (App.Nikhil Bhujbal) jumped out awkwardly. TAPOCOCHA (Imran Chisty, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to SONG OF PRAISE (Amyn Merchant, dr.2).
At the start, PURPLE MOON (Akshay) lugged outwards and went on to BEEMER (App.S.Mosin), who went onto BLESSED (C.S.Jodha), who in turn went on to ALEJANDRA (A.M.Tograllu). Further, PURPLE MOON was inclined to lug-in in the final stages of the races. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, BLESSED was observed to have an abrasion at both fore coronet and SWEATY BETTY had a cut injury at the right nostril.
The post race urine sample of the winners of the 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th race, viz. TELL ME MORE, RED BARON, NEONA and ADMIRALS STRIDE, as also that of ANAHI & SUN SALUTATION (7th race) and the special sample of STARSONBOARD (4th race), ETESIAN & KNIGHTON (5th race) and THEOLOGY (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
