RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1000 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST, WIDTH ABOUT 1 METRE.

On a request from Trainer JS Dhariwal, permission was granted to Trainer P Shroff to saddle his charge CECIL in the 8th race, at his (Trainer JS Dhariwal’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (11) – THE STORM PLATE  (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that STELLA played up in the saddling enclosure and sustained injury on both hocks. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

FAJR (R.Shelar) was restless in the stall. ASHWA YODHAA (J.E.Pereira) played up in the stall and hooked one of its fore legs on the side platform. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainers Faisal A.Abbas and Sangramsinh N.Joshi have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

FAJR (R.Shelar) kept a wide course in the early part of the race. 

 

Jockey P.Trevor (MOON RAKER) when questioned, stated that his Instructions were to be in good position and ride his race. He added that the gelding relaxed in its Stall and was slow and thereafter he had ridden the gelding throughout the race.

 

In the final 100 metres, MOON RAKER (P.Trevor) was inconvenienced as WINDS OF LUCK (Vivek) shifted out from its line of running.

 

After the race, ASHWA YODHAA was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore bulb of heel. MOON RAKER and FAJR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (12) – THE GREY AREA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

PEZZONOVANTE (App.Nikhil Bhujbal) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. WIND AND RAIN (Vivek) tried to duck the front gates. Trainers Vinay Lagad and H.J.Antia have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, PEZZONOVANTE (App.Nikhil Bhujbal) jumped awkwardly inwards. SPEEDING (Shrikant Kamble) was slowly out and jumped awkwardly. BINZZ (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to WIND AND RAIN (Vivek, dr.5). MERCK (C.S.Jodha) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Jockey R Vaibhav (QUEEN) reported the loss of his whip at about 100 metres.

 

After the race, SPEEDING was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PEZZONOVANTE was observed to have a gum injury. CASINO JACK & MERCK (both examined on 20/07/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (13) – THE SPECIALIST PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

                                      

After being loaded, INTESAR (S.P.Ranjane) reared up and flipped over backward and further fell down inside the stall. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore from the right hind leg and also suffered cut injuries at the right fore arm and inside of right stifle area. As such, INTESAR was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. Further, Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

MONTREAL (P. Kamlesh) lugged-in in the early part of the race and inconvenienced THUNDER STAR (R.Shelar) on a few occasions. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked t take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

ACE JET (App.S.Mosin) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, ACE JET was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind coronet and WASABI had an abrasion at the left hind coronet and right hind fetlock. MAHAAKAUSHAL (examined on 20/07/2013) was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (14)  – THE SPECIALIST PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

IMPRESSIVE DUDE (Neeraj Rawal) was restless in the stall.  Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, BEAU ROYALE (I.Pasha, dr.3) shifted in as the gelding was steadied and went on to PRECIOUS OPINION (C.S.Jodha, dr.2) who in turn went on to SANTA BARBARA (App.S.Mosin, dr.1). SKY LANTERN (R.Shelar) jumped out awkwardly.

 

IMPRESSIVE DUDE (Neeraj Rawal) lugged-in in the final 150 metres and carried SANTA BARBARA (App.S.Mosin) inwards and later inconvenienced the latter. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.  

 

After the race, PRECIOUS OPINION was observed to have a cut injury at the right knee and SKY LANTERN had a cut injury at the right fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.5 (15) – THE ELEGANCE TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 13 Runners

 

At the start, FALCO NERO (A.Sandesh, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time MALKIA (C.S.Jodha, dr.5) shifted inwards as Jockey C.S.Jodha tapped the filly, due to which MEGA STAR (I.Pasha, dr.3) and ALWAYS THERE (J.Chinoy, dr.4) were tightened. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned. 

 

At the start, ZORRO (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.7) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to FABULOUS FLORENCE (Abhishek Habbu, dr.8) who in turn went on to ONLY ONE (P.Trevor, dr.9), who in turn made contact with INDICATION (Imran Chisty, dr.10).  

 

After the race, ZORRO and MALKIA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (16)  – THE VICTORIA FALLS PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 21 Runners

 

COLOURFUL PRINCE (P.Trevor) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

At the start, BE COOL (M.A.Roushan, dr.1) shifted out and went on to WILLTELL (A Ashhad Asbar, dr.2). STAR FIRE BOY (S.Sunil) jumped out awkwardly. SNOW KING (Kishore Kadam) jumped out awkwardly and was steadied soon after the start. ICE AGE (Vivek) fly jumped.

 

Soon after the start, SPEED BABY (App.S.Mosin) shifted out and carried COQUETTE (N.S.Parmar) outwards, who in turn carried GIBRAN (Kavraj Singh) further out. App.S.Mosin has been cautioned.

 

After the race, COLOURFUL PRINCE and SNOW KING were found to be sound. COLOURFUL PRINCE had an abrasion at the left fore fetlock and SNOW KING had a cut injury at the left fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.7 (17) – THE VICTORIA FALLS PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1000 Metres – 21 Runners

 

DEMONIC (Abhishek Habhu) played up in the stall and hooked one of its fore legs in the adjoining stall. As such, both the horses, DEMONIC & AMSTERDAM who was in the adjoining stall were taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O.  and AMSTERDAM was certified fit to race. However, DEMONIC was found to be sore from the left fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order.  The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race. Further, Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to give DEMONIC more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

WINDSOR QUEEN (N.S.Parmar) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Also, on start, the filly lost a couple of lengths at the start.  Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in her previous outings, Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter in two mock races, before next accepting to race her.

 

At the start, CELTIC KING (P.Kamlesh) began awkwardly. WIND CRAFT (App.Prasad) lugged out and carried SEA PEARL (Towfeeq R.Shaikh) outwards. ICE EMPIRE (S.P.Ranjane) shifted out and carried MOUNTAIN TREASURE (Shrikant Kamble) outwards. ICE AFFAIR (Shammi Khan) was steadied as NEGREDO (App.S.Mosin) shifted inwards and at the same time MOUNTAIN TREASURE (Shrikant Kamble) shifted out.

 

Soon after the start, SILSILA (R.Vaibhav) lugged out and carried ICE SKATER (Vivek) outward, who in turn carried BASIC LIFE (App.Sandeep Jadhav) outwards.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (AMSTERDAM) reported that his mount ran erratic throughout the race.

 

TAJ E SHAHI (C.S.Jodha) lugged out during the race. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly. 

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of LA TRAVIATA and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, SILSILA was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind coronet and TAJ E SHAHI had a cut injury at the right hind cannon. AMSTERDAM  (examined on 20/07/2013) was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (18) – THE PUNE MONSOON MILLION: (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

Near 1000 metres, TURF LIGHTNING (Imran Chisty) suddenly ducked in without giving the Jockey a chance to react and jostled with WEIZHOU (CS Jodha) who in turn went in on to ANAHI (PS Chouhan).

 

Near 900 metres, TURF LIGHTNING (Imran Chisty) shifted in and went across WEIZHOU (C.S.Jodha) who was checked and then went across ANAHI (P.S.Chouhan). Jockey Imran Chisty has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching 200 metres, ANAHI (P.S.Chouhan) shifted out to progress in the race and in the process forced his way thus causing severe interference to VISIONIST (A.Ashhad Asbar) who in turn hampered the running of MANYATTA (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey P.S.Chouhan was reported to the Stewards.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey P.S.Chouhan and having heard him and having viewed the video recording of the race held him guilty of careless riding. However, since Jockey P.S.Chouhan had admitted his guilt and apologized for the same, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and suspended his Jockey’s license for 3rd August, 2013.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (MANYATTA) reported that his mount did not get a clear run on a few occasions from 500 metres onwards till about 200 metres.  

 

After the race, ISHPINGO was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. CECIL was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9 (19) – THE FINE ARROW PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (FORTUNE HUNTER) has been reprimanded for feeble riding in the final 300 metres and further he has been cautioned for his future rides.

 

After the race, PURPLE PATCH, SHABDEEZ and SAN RAFAEL were found to be sound. FORTUNE HUNTER had lost its left hind plate.

 

RACE NO.10 (20) – THE STORM PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, MAGIC MELODY (P.Trevor) began awkwardly. JOCELYN (R.Vaibhav) jumped awkwardly inwards.

 

After the race, TOPTRICK was found to be sound, but having a gum injury. ARMEL, MIDNIGHT LADY and MIDNIGHT WIND were found to be sound. COURTESY CALL had lost its left fore shoe.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th race, viz.  TRUMP CARD, WIND OF THE HILLS, MONTREAL, ROSIE SUNSHINE and WEIZHOU as also that of TURF LIGHTNING & ORITO (8th race) and the special sample of SPEEDING (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
