RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT AN AVERAGE WIDTH OF ABOUT 2 METRES FROM 1200 METRES UPTO 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Magansingh P Jodha to saddle his charge MYPETHONEY in the 2nd race, at his (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1. (10) THE NYAYO PLATE (About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 8

URUJ (TS Jodha) and RODRIGO (Towfeeq R Shaikh) were slowly out losing about 5 lengths each at the start. Trainers SS Shah and Jayantilal K Gor have been asked to give their respective charges more Gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race. 

MOON GAZER (Vikram Jodha) was tightened for room and lost position while racing between URUJ (TS Jodha) and WINNING TREAT (J Chinoy).

Jockey Dashrath Singh (REINSTATE) reported that soon after the start his mount threw its head up due to which he lost his left stirrup and lost control over his mount and subsequently his mount drifted outwards and took no part in the race. The Jockey further stated that while going to the Starting Gates also his mount was trying to go towards the exit. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been asked to be more alert in the Gates and Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Trainer Suresh Chavan and Jockey DS Rathore were questioned regarding the running and riding of SADDLERS RULE. The instructions were to be in 3rd, 4th or 5th position and ride out in the last 400 metres but not to allow the other horses to take a big break which was confirmed by the Trainer. It was observed that Jockey DS Rathore had made his move late after entering the straight and allowed EQUALITY to take a break which may have cost SADDLERS RULE the race. The matter was referred to the Stewards and after viewing the race decided to give the Jockey benefit of doubt and had been asked to be more careful in future.

After the race, RODRIGO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. FLYING SPIRIT was found to be sore by the left fore leg and also had an abrasion on the right hind bulb of heel. Both the horses have to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SADDLERS RULE and REINSTATE were found to be sound.

RACE NO 2. (11) THE ROMANTIC CHAMP PLATE (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 6

At the request of Trainer Magansingh P Jodha, who had deputized for Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, RAN BANKA was examined at 0730 hours on 18/11/2010 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

RACE NO 3. (12) THE GATEWAY OF INDIA PLATE (About) 1200 Metres Runners – 8

NATURELLE (Shrikant Kamble) dislodged its Rider on the way to the Starting Gates. The filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Orders as the Jockey was hurt and was unable to ride.

ENDLESS HORIZON (S Zervan) and MARUDHARA RATAN (Ishwar Pardeshi) lost 2 lengths each at the start.

After the race, LYRICAL SYMPHONY was found to be sound having an abrasion on the right hind pastern. FIRE SPARK was found to have abrasion above the left hind fetlock and pastern. NATURELLE was found to be sound.

RACE NO 4. (13) THE J.V. SHUKLA - ASHWAMITRA TROPHY (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 7

DANTE ROSETTI (NS Parmar) was reluctant to proceed to the Starting Gates thereby delaying the start of the race. Trainer Shyam S Habbu has been asked to school his charge to proceed to the Starting Gates before next accepting to race.

RACE NO 5. (14) THE SIR CHARLES FORBES TROPHY (About) 1400 Metres.Runners-6

Near 1000 metres, ELOISE (C Rajendra) shifted in as the filly was being tried to be settle and hampered the running of GOT TO GO Neeraj Rawal). Jockey C Rajendra has been fined Rs.1000/- and cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over hi mount.

Approaching 200 metres, LIVING THE DREAM (Dashrath Snigh) shifted in under the use of the whip and jostled with STAR WARRIOR (Suraj Narredu) turning the colt sideways. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.3000/- for improper use of the whip.

After the race, LIVING THE DREAM was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SUPERIOR QUEST was found to have abrasion on the left hind bulb of heel. STAR WARRIOR was found to be sound.

RACE NO 6. (15) THE RHAPSIDION SNOW PLATE (About) 1200 Metres. Runners -8

AFSANEH (PS Chouhan) after jump out did not raise an effective gallop after the start.

After a slow start, Jockey J Chinoy (MARTINIQUE) took evasive action and shifted out as the Jockey found AFSANEH (PS Chouhan) in front of him who had shifted out and did not raise an effective gallop.

After the race, LAKE COMO was found to have a cut injury on the neck. HIAWATHA was found to be sound.

RACE NO 7. (16) THE PROLETARIAN PLATE (About) 1400 Metres. Runners -7

On arrival at the Starting Gates, EYE OF THE STORM (PS Chouhan) was examined by the Club’s VO and was found to be sore by the right fore leg as such the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Orders. The filly has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi (VISIONAIRE) reported that soon after the jump out  his mount ducked in due to which DRAMA QUEEN (App A Sandesh) was inconvenienced who was steadied by its Rider. Trainer SK Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding, nevertheless the Jockey has been asked to be more alert at the Gates.

Jockey Suraj Narredu (LEGIONNAIRE) reported that his mount was trying to run out in the straight. Trainer CD Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, ENCHANTED was found to have abrasion on the left hind bulb of heel and right hock and pastern. SATYAMEV JAYATE was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2nd and 7th race viz. TATTENHOE and LEGIONNAIRE and the special sample of LYRICAL SYMPHONY (3rd race), STAR WARRIOR (5th race), HIAWATHA (6th race) and SATYAMEV JAYATE (7th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
