RACE DAY REPORTS
FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1000 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST, WIDTH ABOUT 1 METRE.
On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge CLINTON in the 8th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 – THE BUD ROYALE PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners
After the race, SIZZLING LOVE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, RISING ANGEL was found to be sound, but having a bruise at the left hind fetlock. WINCHESTER was found to be sound.
RACE NO.2 – THE HUGO PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners
At the start, PLAN B (Abhishek Habbu, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to PRINCESS KHATOUM (A.Sandesh, dr.3).
Near 1100 metres, ALWAYS SMILE (App.Prasad) shifted in and went across the field on his inside and in the process caused PRIZE FIGHTER (Altaf Sayyed) to be checked. App.Prasad has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Jockey P.Trevor (MATTER OF HEART) when questioned, stated that his Instructions were to be in 3rd, 4th or 5th position and to improve from 600 metres. He stated that the gelding was sluggish in the early part of the race and did not respond during those stages of the race. He added that the gelding responded as the race progressed. The Sr. VO was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected.
PRIZE FIGHTER (Altaf Sayyed) lugged out during the race. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, PRIZE FIGHTER was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at both hock. FLYING KISS and MATTER OF HEART (examined on 19/07/2013) were found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 – THE MUSIC MAN PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1400 Metres – 13 Runners
ICE PICK (S.P.Ranjane) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start, ROMANTIC BEAUTY (P.Kamlesh) jumped out awkwardly.
Passing 400 metres, ROMANTIC BEAUTY (P.Kamlesh) shifted ground outwards and inconvenienced NIGELLA (Zameer Sayyed).
Passing 200 metres, BLUE KNIGHT (App.S.Mosin) shifted out and inconvenienced ROMANTIC BEAUTY (P.Kamlesh).
ANTONIUS MAXIMUS (S.Sunil) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, DIVINE INSPIRATION was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, BALINGA was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. ANTONIUS MAXIMUS was found to be sound.
RACE NO.4 – THE MUSIC MAN PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1400 Metres – 13 Runners
Trainer H.J.Antia presented his charge WIND CHIME with an incorrect Saddle cloth number, as such he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for his negligence.
WAR HORSE (P.Trevor) and GRAND DUKE (A.Sandesh) were reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainers Dallas Todywalla and M.K.Jadhav have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.
SAVAGE GARDEN (I.Pasha) was leaning in the stall and not allowing its rider to mount. PURPLE MOKARA (App.Prasad) was slow in the strides, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainers Narendra Lagad and Sangramsinh N.Joshi have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
ORIENTAL SAPPHIRE (R.Shelar) and GRAND DUKE (A.Sandesh) lost about 2 lengths each, at the start.
At the start, SAVAGE GARDEN (I.Pasha) jumped awkwardly.
After the race, HOME ADVANTAGE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, WIND CHIME was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel. HOME ADVANTAGE and GRAND DUKE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 – THE GIRONDE PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners
BIZARRO (R.Rupesh) was slow in the strides and then swerved inwards, losing about 3 lengths at the start.
Approaching 200 metres, BARRINGO (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards on to CATHARSIS (C.S.Jodha) possibly due to the presence of SET TO FLY (Ishwar Pardeshi) on its outside. Soon afterwards SET TO FLY (Ishwar Pardeshi), who was inclined to lug-in, shifted inwards and caused BARRINGO to shift in, who tightened CATHARSIS on to SHARAARAT (A.Sandesh), who was unbalanced and shifted out and tightened CATHRASIS on to BARRINGO. Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been fined Rs.3,000/- for not making sufficient effort to control his mount. Further, Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race his charge SET TO FLY.
The Sr.V.O. reported that SET TO FLY was examined at the stables in the morning on 19/07/2013 and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 – THE HUGO PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners
At the start, CROWNED PRINCESS (P.Trevor, dr.1) lugged out and at the same time IN THE LIMELIGHT (Ishwar Pardeshi, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards, due to which CALYPSO QUEEN (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2) and SCARAMOUCHE (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.3) were tightened.
At the start, STARRY OCEAN (Vivek) was tightened due to lack of room. GOTTAWEARSHADES (Zameer Sayyed, dr.10) was also inconvenienced as JEN’S GLORY (Towfeeq R.Shaikh, dr.11) shifted in. Jockey Towfeeq R.Shaikh has been advised to be more careful.
Approaching 1000 metres, DIAMONDZIP (Nirmal Jodha) shifted out and inconvenienced WARRIOR PRINCE (S.P.Ranjane) who took MOUNTAIN WIND (App.Prasad) outwards.
After the race, CALYPSO QUEEN was observed to have cut injuries at the left hock. IN THE LIMELIGHT, G0TTAWEARSHADES and DIAMONDZIP were found to be sound. DIAMONDZIP had lost its left hind shoe.
RACE NO.7 – THE CAPRICORN TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners
Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for presenting his charge EARTH TAMER (S.P.Ranjane) with Pacifier Blinkers instead of only Pacifiers. The Blinkers were removed before the gelding left the Paddock.
Soon after the start, YOU’RE THE BOSS (Dashrath Singh) was inconvenienced as FOREST VISION (Imran Chisty) shifted ground outwards.
Soon on straightening for home, GHAZAL KING (R.Vaibhav) was steadied due to lack of room as OVERTIME MAGIC (Vikram Jodha) weakened and dropped back.
After the race, RIO was found to be sore by the left fore leg and also had a bruise on the left hind fetlock. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.8 – THE FAIR HAVEN TROPHY : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
After being loaded, MAXIMUS (Neeraj Rawal) played up and got his right fore leg and head stuck on the bars of the gate in a very awkward position. The rear gates were opened and the gelding was taken out. MAXIMUS was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. In view of the above, Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the Start, MIGHTY CRUSADER (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and DEMONSTRATOR (C.S.Jodha, dr.3) also jumped outwards and at the same time SPIRIT OF MERCY (P.Trevor, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards, as a result SPIRIT OF MERCY and DEMONSTRATOR jostled with each other.
Shortly after the start, SPIRIT OF MERCY (P.Trevor) was tightened and lost position while racing between NEONA (N.S.Parmar) and DEMONSTRATOR (C.S.Jodha).
Jockey Imran Chisty (VITTORIA) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.
BLUE ACE (S.Sunil) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, MIGHTY CRUSADER was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, BLUE ACE was found to be sound.
RACE NO.9 – THE CAPRICORN TROPHY (DIV.I) : (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners
After the race, FOUR STAR GENERAL was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind coronet, SATINGO had a cut injury at the left fore cannon, ACE ANGELFIRE had a cut injury at the right hock and ZAAGROS had an abrasion at the left hind bulb of heel. HUNT FOR HEADS was found to be sound.
RACE NO.10 – THE ALOUETTE PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 15 Runners
Jockey A.Sandesh (EMPEROR OF FRANCE) stated that his Instructions were to go to the front. He said that the horse was tired from 600 metres and had nothing in him in the last 200 metres. An enquiry has been opened into the poor performance of EMPEROR OF FRANCE and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race EMPEROR OF FRANCE was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the right fore fetlock. ZIDAAN had lost its right hind plate.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 6th, 9th and 10th race, viz. DOMAIN ANNA, JOSEPHINE, ACE ANGELFIRE and PANTHERA, and the special sample of HOME ADVANTAGE (4th race) and EMPEROR OF FRANCE (10th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
