RACE NO.1 (27) – THE KOREA RACING AUTHORITY TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  13

 

On the way to the start, OLYMPIA (App. S Saba) reared up and dislodged its rider, since the rider was hurt and was unable to ride, hence, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order.

 

After being stalled, MILLI (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.12) rushed the front gates and came out, hence, all the horses were taken out. The starting gates were tested and thereafter all the horses were re-stalled.

 

At the start, SWEET EMOTION (App. N. Bhosale, dr.9) threw its head up and had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 250 metres, MILLI (Vishal N. Bunde) shied inwards and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, SERRANO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MILLI & PHANTA were trotted and found to be sound and SONIC BOOM was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (28) – THE R. J. KOLAH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

 

After the race, CHAMONIX was found to have an injury on its right hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.3 (29) – THE MAHALAKSHMI SPRINT MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  4

 

At the start, O HANSINI (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.3) lost its footing and stumbled.

 

RACE NO.4 (30) – THE M. N. NAZIR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES –RUNNERS- 9

 

BRAVE BEAUTY (K. Nazil, dr.8) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, REGAL COMMAND (Bhawani Singh, dr.2) jumped outwards onto ASHWA MAGADHEERA (Amyn Merchant, dr.3) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 1500 metres, ASHWA MAGADHEERA (Amyn Merchant) leaned inwards thereby tightening REGAL COMMAND (Bhawani Singh) along the rails. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (BRAVE BEAUTY) reported that he was tightened for room in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, SCARAMANGA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (31) – THE SATINELLO TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS – 9

 

At the request of Trainer P. Shroff, FIORENTINI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area at 11.00 a.m. on 16th December 2023 and was found to be sore by its right fore, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

On the arrival at the start, BALTHAZAR (Bhawani Singh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V. O., who certified him fit to race.

 

BALTHAZAR (Bhawani Singh, dr.3) was reluctant to reach the starting gate. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

CONNEXION (S. J. Moulin, dr.10) took an awkward fly jump thereby losing about two lengths at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (BALTHAZAR) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (EARTH) reported that his mount drifted out in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TRILLIONAIRE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by its right fore, as such, the colt has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BALTHAZAR was observed to have an injury on its left hind coronet.

 

After the race, CONNEXION was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, MOTHER’S GRACE was found to have an injury on its left hind pastern.

 

After the race, the mouth of EARTH was examined and no abnormality was found.

 

RACE NO.6 (32) –  THE TRILEGAL INDIAN 1000 GUINEAS  (Grade 1): (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS – 8

 

Approaching the 1400 metres, in the rider’s efforts to settle his mount, JENDAYI (Oisin Murphy) leaned outwards onto WAIKIKI (P. Trevor) and AZRINAZ (Neeraj Rawal).

 

RACE NO.7 (33) –  THE KUSUMBEN DHIRUBHAI SHAH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -10

 

SONG SONG BLUE (S. G. Prasad, dr.7) lost about a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 900 metres, TOOFAN (K. Nazil) shifted in thereby tightening ZACAPA (Shrikant Kamble) causing him to check and change course due to which RUBIK STAR (Bhawani Singh) racing on its haunches was inconvenienced and had to be steadied. Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Vishal N. Bunde (SPIRITUAL ROCK) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Himmat Singh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ANOUSHKA was found to have an injury on its right fore coronet.

 

RACE NO.8 (34) –  THE KOREA RACING AUTHORITY TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 14

 

PHENOM (N. S. Parmar, dr.4) lost about four lengths at the start. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, DAULAT MAI (J. Chinoy, dr.8) jumped outwards at the same time MIGHTY THUNDER (Dashrath Singh, dr.10) jumped inwards due to which MISTY (P. Trevor, dr.9) drawn between them was tightened for room and had to be checked thereafter FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.12) shifted in under urgings and went across ADAMAS (S. J. Sunil, dr.11), MIGHTY THUNDER and MISTY resulting in them to jostle, be checked and drop back. After questioning and not being satisfied App. Mustakim Alam has been fined Rs.3,000/- and has been severely reprimanded for the future.

 

After the race, HILMA KLINT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by its right fore, as such, the mare has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, FIDATO was trotted and found to be sound.

 

On 18th December 2023, PORTOFINO BAY and SENTINEL were trotted at the stables and were found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st & 2nd race, viz. NEW DIMENSION & CHAMONIX, and the special sample of SERRANO (1st race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of the MARKET KING (3rd race), JENDAYI (Winner – 6th race), DEMOCRACY (2nd place – 6th race) & AMEERAH (3rd place – 6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:

 

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “CORDELIA” (DRAWN 5) IN RACE NO. 3 – THE A. HOYT PLATE (DIST. 1400 MTRS.) RUN ON 23RD NOVEMBER 2023:

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 17th December 2023, considered all the papers and proceedings before them, heard the submissions made by Jockey C. Umesh, Trainer P. Shroff, as also the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the video recording of the race in question and previous races of the filly and having deliberated in the matter at length, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey C. Umesh.

 

In that, it was pointed out to Jockey C. Umesh that he could have improved the position despite having missed the kick. Further, It was also pointed out to him that the Jockey who fell i.e. Neeraj Rawal was also riding vigorously in the same race, so his explanation of being stressed was not acceptable especially considering his seniority, experience and ability and in any case if he was not in a frame of mind to ride he should have informed the Stipendiary Stewards or the Trainer before the race. Also keeping in mind that the Trainer was not happy with his riding, the Stewards of the Club held Jockey C. Umesh guilty of incompetent riding on his mount CORDELIA in the above race and decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence for 2 race days i.e. on 4th & 11th January 2024, (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not producing the registered Racing Colors in respect of his charge  FIERY RED (M. S. Deora). The filly raced in emergency colors i.e. “ALL BLACK”.
