RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  5 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE)  TO 1000 METRES, AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(61) – THE BEAUTIFUL STRANGER PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5 

 

GREY FLANNEL (P. Trevor) and SAFFIRE SONG (Neeraj Rawal) were observed to have hung out in the straight.

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (HURRICANE STORM) reported that his mount was running green.

 

After the race, App Yash Narredu SHIVALIK SHINE reported that as his mount was fading out as such he had dropped his hands before passing the post. The Apprentice was informed to ride out past the post in future.

 

After the race, GREY FLANNEL was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(62) – THE ALMA MATER PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11

 

At the start, LAS SALINAS (Altaf Sayyed dr. 4) was tightened for room due to ROCKING (S. P. Ranjane dr. 5) and THE OTHER SONG (App. Bhawani Singh, dr. 3) shifting in and out respectively.


At the start, WILD VENTURE (App. Parbat Singh) was observed to have ducked inwards.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, ACKER BILK (C. S. Jodha) shifted inwards, tightening GYAHANA (App. S. J. Sunil). Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 800 metres ARMEL (Hanumant Singh), due to a tightly packed field was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 300 metres, ENSIGN (P. S. Chauhan) shifted out and made contact with ACKER BILK (C. S. Jodha).

 

Jockey P. S. Chouhan (ENSIGN) was questioned regarding the riding of his mount. He stated that he was asked to ride his own race, as such he went to the front and on turning for home his horse was leaning out and gave up. The explanation has been noted.

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that after crossing the Sampling Yard, ACKER BILK was observed to be in distress and was treated accordingly. The gelding was examined at the stables in the morning on 18/12/2015 and found to be sound.

 

After the race, ENSIGN, WILD VENTURE and OCEAN SPARKLE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(63)  – THE MURIOI PLATE(DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 10 

 

Tr. Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.2,000/- for accepting with his charge CLOUDS OF GLORY in two races i.e. The Bourbon King Plate and The Muroio Plate.  As per the General Conditions published in the Prospectus, CLOUDS OF GLORY was struck out from this race.

 

Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge  CICITALIA  (S. G. Prasad) into the paddock without a Tongue Strap. The same was put on the filly before she left the paddock.

 

Tr. Adhirajsingh Jodha was questioned in connection with his charge SEACRETS being brought late into the paddock. Trainer stated that saddling of his charge was delayed as the Jockey failed to send the saddle on time. Jockey J. Chinoy confirmed the same and further added that as he had a ride in the previous race and was using the same saddle, he was unable to send the saddle on time. However the Jockey was apologetic and assured that he would not repeat this in future. No action has been initiated.

 

In the process of stalling, GENEROUS LADY (App.D.R.Shubham) rushed the front gate and went through. The filly was examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, ASPEN (P.S.Chouhan, dr. 9) shifted out and made contact with MISS USA (Colm O’Donoghue, dr.10).

 

Turning for home CHOTE NAWAB (D. S. Rathore) shifted out on to TOP WIZARD (Dashrath Singh) who in turn went on to BAY OF LOVE (App. N. Nadeem)

 

Approaching the 400 metres BAY OF LOVE (App.N.Nadeem) shifted in onto RAPID GIRL (Neeraj Rawal), who had to be steadied. App.N.Nadeem has been cautioned.

 

After the race, ASPEN was found to be sound, but having a gum injury. CHOTE NAWAB and SEACRETS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(64) – THE BOURBON KING PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12

 

Tr. C.Rajendra has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to declare his charge SHIVALIK ROSE in this race.

 

At the request of Trainer Karthik G. SWEEPING MOVE was examined on 16/12/2015 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

DEMARCHE (Shrikant Kamble) lost about a length at the start.

 

EVIDENCE (P.Trevor, dr. 8) was observed to have shifted in before passing the Red Marker. Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 800 metres, SPEED MAGIC (App. S. Joseph) shifted in under urgings and hampered SILK BABY (Amyn Merchant). App.S.Joseph has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

On turning for home, SPEED MAGIC (App.S.Joseph) was observed to have shifted out. On questioning, App.S.Joseph stated that his mount hung out despite his efforts. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (AAMERICAN AGATTA) reported that his mount kept shying away from the other horses throughout the race and as a result was running on to the inner rail. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ALTUS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MAKE IT SHINE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SPEED MAGIC and AAMERICAN AGATTA (examined on 18/12/2015) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(65) – THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

 

HOLY BULL (Akshay) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Approaching 600 metres, ICE CUBE BABY (App.Yash Narredu), who was racing between SAIL PAST (Dashrath Singh) and BACKSTREET BAY (R. Shelar), was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

Turning for home , ICE CUBE BABY (App. Yash Narredu) drifted out and finished the race on the outer rails. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Passing 200 metres,  CEZANNE (App.Bhawani Singh) shifted out and raced in the middle of the course. Trainer A.M. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, SAIL PAST and ICE CUBE BABY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(66) – THE EDGAR DeSYLVA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 9

 

At the start, JOSHUA (Dashrath Singh, dr. 9) shifted in on to MALEFICENT (P.S.Chouhan, dr.8) causing the latter to drop back.

 

Passing 1100 metres, HIDDEN ASSET (App.N.B.Kuldeep, dr. 3) shifted in and made contact with PEPITO (C.S.Jodha, dr.1). App.N.B.Kuldeep has been cautioned.

 

Passing 1000 metres, ANOTHER CONQUEST (App.Yash Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening HIDDEN ASSET (App. N. B. Kuldeep) and forcing him to check and drop back. Thereafter, ANOTHER CONQUEST (App.Yash Narredu) further shifted in and went on to PEPITO (C.S.Jodha ) who was tightened for room. App. Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 1000 metres, JOSHUA (Dashrath Singh) leaned in onto RULE DOWNUNDER (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (JOSHUA) reported that his mount was hanging in. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

App. Santosh G. (DICTATOR) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race. Turning for home, in an effort to correct the same, The gelding suddenly shifted out. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Passing the 350 metres HIDDEN ASSET (App. N. B. Kuldeep) was observed to have broken down due to which DICTATOR (App. Santosh G.), was inconvenienced and had to be steadied.

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that HIDDEN ASSET stopped galloping at about 250 metres before the winning post. On examination, it was found that the mare had a complete rupture of the right fore fetlock joint. After obtaining consent of the trainer, HIDDEN ASSET was euthanized on humane grounds on the track.

 

After the race, PEPITO and JOSHUA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(67)– THE AUTUMN BLUE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners -  13

 

ETERNAL (App.S.J.Sunil) took an awkward fly jump and RUNNING CLOUD (J.Chinoy) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey R.Vaibhav (YODHA SHAKTI) reported that on turning for home, DEM SAO (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out on to him.

 

After the race, ETERNAL and ALLEGIANCE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(68)–THE  MURIOI PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres– Runners -  11

 

At the start RUNNING STORM (App. S. J. Sunil dr. 11) shifted in and made contact with FORTUNA (App.Santosh G, dr.10)

 

At the start, FAST FUTURE (Dashrath Singh, dr.9) shifted in onto PERSONIFY (R.Vaibhav, dr.8). At the same point FORTUNA (App.Santosh G, dr.10) also shifted in, as a result FAST FUTURE was hampered for room and dropped back.

 

At the start MAJESTIC LIGHT (Amyn Merchant dr. 7) shifted in and made contact with JUDICIOUS (Neeraj Rawal dr. 6) Thereafter JUDICIOUS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and went across the field. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, GOLD DREAM (Kishore Kadam) jostled with MARCOS (T. S. Jodha) and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 600 metres, RELENTLESS PURSUIT (P. Trevor) was observed to have ducked in onto SIMPLY SHINNING, who was forced to check. On questioning Jockey P. Trevor stated that his mount was hanging in and thereafter kept changing legs throughout the straight.

 

Turning for home, SIMPLY SHINING (J.Chinoy) suddenly shied out and made contact with FORTUNA (App. Santosh G.), who in turn went on to FAST FUTURE (Dashrath Singh).

 

After the race, RELENTLESS PURSUIT was found to be sound. The gelding was scoped after the race by Dr.Prashant Wandhare and found to be EIPH (Gr.I).

 

After the race, PERSONIFY and FAST FUTURE were found to be sound.

 

 

RACE NO.9(69)– THE BOURBON KING PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  14

 

Passing the 900 metres ZAHRAZAN (S. Zervan) shifted in onto DANCING DAE’MON (App. Bhawani Singh) who further shifted in onto ZADORA (App. Jaykumar) forcing him to brush the haunches of PRETTY IN PATPONG (Hanumant Singh) thereby causing him to shift in, tightening CLOUDS OF GLORY (App. S. J. Sunil). Jockey S. Zervan has been fined Rs. 2000/-.

 

Passing the 500 metres NOBLE LADY (App. Raghuveer Singh) drifted out, and went across SO GOOD (J. E. Pereira) causing him to check and shift out onto ANGEL IN THE SKY (Altaf Sayyed). App Raghuveer Singh has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 250 metres, BLITZKRIEG (App. S. A. Amit) in an effort to get a clear run, shifted out sharply, as there were no interferences no action has been initiated.  However App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned for the same.

 

After the race, BARKAT was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ZADORA was observed to have lost its left fore plate.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. SAFFIRE SONG (1st race), SPANISH SAGA (2nd race), RAPID GIRL (3rd race), SHIVALIK STORY (4th race), PERSIAN PRINCE (5th race), RULE DOWNUNDER (6th race), ROMANTIC BEAUTY (7th race), JUDICIOUS (8th race) and CAPTAIN COURAGE (9th race), and the special sample of ALTUS (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT :

 

SUBJECT: APPEAL FROM P.SHROFF AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB - ENQUIRY INTO THE POSITIVE FINDINGS OF “O-DESMETHYL-VENLAFAXINE” IN THE URINE SAMPLE OF 1) ch f “MAISHA” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.17 – THE MAHARAJA OF MORVI TROPHY RUN ON 23RD NOVEMBER, 2014 & 2) ch f “ARRIVEDERCI” (PLACED THIRD) IN RACE NO.79 – THE N.M.IRANI TROPHY (DIV.II) RUN ON 25TH DECEMBER, 2014 – MATTER REMANDED BACK TO THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB BY THE BOARD OF APPEAL – DE-NOVO ENQUIRY – TRAINER P.SHROFF WAS GRANTED A STAY ON THE PUNISHMENT:

The meeting of the Board of Appeal held on 11th December 2015 having heard Tr.P.Shroff/his Spokesman had adjourned the meeting and had reserved its decision whether the documents submitted vide his letters dated 8th December 2015 and 9th December 2015 constituted fresh evidence or not. The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 15th December 2015 resolved, by majority, that the documents accompanied with Tr.P.Shroff’s two letters under reference did not constitute fresh evidence and therefore decided not to remand the case back to the Stewards of the Club and proceeded with the hearing of his appeal in the captioned subject matter.  

The Board of Appeal considered all documents, papers and proceedings that were submitted in the matter and heard Tr.P.Shroff and his Spokesman. The Board of Appeal having deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire case and its facts, did not accept his plea for mitigating circumstances pertaining to his vicarious liability and decided by majority, to reject his Appeal with regard to the positive finding of O-Desmethylvenlafaxine in the urine sample of his two horses and confirmed the order of the Stewards of the Club passed in this regard. Accordingly, the decision of the Stewards of the Club in this regard stands.

 

In view of the Stay granted on his punishment, his Trainer’s License now stands suspended w.e.f. 21st December 2015 to 18th February 2016. (Both days inclusive).

 

As regards Tr.P.Shroff’s Appeal against the decision of the Stewards of the Club regarding maintenance of the Log Book, the Board of Appeal has, without prejudice to the aforesaid decision, decided to waive the fine imposed on him by the Stewards of the Club. His Deposit for the Appeal was refunded.

The Stewards of the Club had suspended Mr.P.Shroff’s Trainer’s License for a period of 30 days and fined him Rs.10,000/- for the positive finding of CAPSAICIN in the urine sample of RAMESSES in Race no 77 run on 21st December 2014 for which he had not appealed to the Board of Appeal. This punishment will now take effect from 19th February 2015 i.e. his Trainer’s License will stand further suspended for 30 days for RAMESSES i.e. from 19th February 2016 to 19th March 2016 (both days inclusive).
