RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT

On a request from Trainer Vinesh, permission was granted to Trainer Nirad Karanjawala to saddle his charges RAPID GIRL (1^st race) and BROTHERSOFTHEWIND (7^th race), at his own (Trainer Vinesh’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Zadmal Singh, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge CLASSICUS in the 2^nd race, at his own (Trainer Zadmal Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer S.Ganapathy, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge SOUTHERN RULER in the 6^th race, at his own (Trainer S.Ganapathy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(191) –THE LAHINCH PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12

The Club’s V.O. reported that ARABIAN MUKTAR (Amyn Merchant) lost his left hind shoe plate on the way to the starting gate. The gelding was examined after removing the right hind shoe plate and found to be sore by the left hind leg. As such, ARABIAN MUKTAR was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

GRAND PASSAGE (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

There was a dual declaration of App. Vishal N. Bunde by Trainer A. M. Jadhav on CRAY CRAY and by Trainer Vinesh on RAPID GIRL. On questioning all concerned, App. Vishal N. Bunde stated that he wished to fulfill his engagement on CRAY CRAY. As such Tr. Vinesh was permitted to declare Jockey P. Trevor on RAPID GIRL and App. Vishal N. Bunde has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.

At the start, RICARDUS (App. S. A. Amit, dr.9) jumped outwards and at the same time TOP WIZARD (App. Aniket Karande, dr.10) jumped inwards and made contact.

Passing 300 metres, SUERTE (App. N. B. Kuldeep) shifted out and at the same time GRAND PASSAGE (Bhawani Singh) shifted in due to which GRAND PASSAGE was inconvenienced. After questioning the Jockeys concerned, App. N. B. Kuldeep has been cautioned.

LILIBETH (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted out under urgings in the straight. App. P. S .Kaviraj has been cautioned.

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of SILVER CAP and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, TRANSFORM was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(192) –THE RACING WORLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, FINDLERHOF was examined at 1025 hours on 17/03/2019 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the start, NOTTING HILL (P. S. Chouhan, dr.7) jumped inwards and at the same time REGAL SHOT (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.6) jumped outwards and made contact.

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (ARTICULATE) reported that his mount suddenly weakened in the straight and dropped back.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of AUGUSTUS CAESAR and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, ARTICULATE was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(193) –THE J.P.VAZIFDAR TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8

After being stalled, MINSTREL HEIGHTS (App. A. Prakash) sat on his haunches. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

After the race, LORRAINE, MINSTREL HEIGHTS and TIMELESS DEEDS were trotted and found to be sound. LORRAINE had a cut injury at the left fore pastern.

RACE NO.4(194) –THE FORBES BREEDERS’ JUVENILE FILLIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6

Passing 300 metres, FREE GOLD (Suraj Narredu) shifted out and carried THAILAND (P. S. Chouhan) outwards. After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu reported that his mount hung out despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

From the 200 metres, KARIEGA (P. Trevor) was observed to have been inclined outwards despite the Jockey’s efforts. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

RACE NO.5(195) –THE J.RUSTOMJI SOPARIVALA TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12

At the start, DADDY’S PRIDE (P. S. Chouhan, dr.11) and PERFECT SHINING (N. S. Parmar, dr.12) both jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

At the start, SUPREME BEING (App. S. A. Amit, dr.6) jumped outwards and at the same time THEA’S FIRE (Kishore Kadam, dr.8) jumped inwards thereby tightening SIR RAMON (App. K. Nazil, dr.7).

Approaching 600 metres, WARRIOR CLAN (Suraj Narredu) shifted in thereby tightening the field on his inside, due to which GOLDEN GUEST (A. Sandesh) and ISTANBUL (Amyn Merchant) were tightened and had to be checked. After questioning, Jockey Suraj Narredu has been suspended for 2 Race Days i.e. from 6^th to 7^th April, 2019 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Passing 400 metres, ISTANBUL (Amyn Merchant) shifted out thereby forcing DASHING IMAGE (S. J. Sunil) outwards and at the same time GOLDEN GUEST (A. Sandesh) shifted in, due to which SUPREME BEING (App. S. A. Amit) who was racing between them, was tightened for room and had to be checked. Thereafter, DADDY’S PRIDE (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in and went across PERFECT SHINING (N. S. Parmar) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back thereby causing interference to THEA’S FIRE (Kishore Kadam). After questioning all concerned, Jockey A. Sandesh and Jockey P. S. Chouhan have been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (ISTANBUL), Jockey N. S. Parmar (PERFECT SHINING) and Jockey Kishore Kadam (THEA’S FIRE) reported that their mounts were running green

On being questioned after the race, App. S. A. Amit (SUPREME BEING) reported that his mount was running green.

After the race, COURAGEOUS STAR and SUPREME BEING were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(196) – THE SHAPOORJI PALLONJI BREEDERS’ JUVENILE COLTS’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

At the start, MORISEIKI (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards on to SOUTHERN RULER (Bhawani Singh, dr.2) who had to be steadied.

At the start, GALLANTRY (Suraj Narredu, dr.3) jumped outwards on to TROUVAILLE (A. Sandesh, dr.4).

Soon after the start, BEEMER (David Allan) was observed to have veered outwards and had to be steadied. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

RACE NO.7(197) –THE LAHINCH PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14

There was a dual declaration of App. Vishal N. Bunde by Trainer Dallas Todywalla on WE MAKE THE RULES and by Trainer Vinesh on BROTHERSOFTHEWIND. On questioning all concerned, App. Vishal N. Bunde stated that he wished to fulfill his engagement on WE MAKE THE RULES. As such Tr. Vinesh was permitted to declare App. R. Ajinkya on BROTHERSOFTHEWIND. The Stipendiary Stewards will enquire into the matter and submit a report.

At the start, WE MAKE THE RULES (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.10) jumped inwards on to GOLDEN ECLIPSE (A. Sandesh, dr.9). Soon after FABERGE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.11) shifted in starting a chain reaction, due to which WE MAKE THE RULES and GOLDEN ECLIPSE were tightened thereby forcing BOURBON LEGEND (App. M. Ayyar, dr.8) inwards on to NIGHT WATCH (App. K. Nazil, dr.7). Due to this interference BOURBON LEGEND and GOLDEN ECLIPSE were observed to have lost position and dropped back. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been severely reprimanded.

Passing 200 metres, XOXO (N. S. Parmar) shifted in under urgings and went across WE MAKE THE RULES (App. Vishal N. Bunde) who had to be steadied.

Jockey N. S. Parmar (XOXO) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

After the race, BOURBON LEGEND and MANDRAKE were found to be sore by the left fore leg and left hind leg respectively. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1^st, 3^rd, 4^th, 5^th and 6^th race viz. TRANSFORM, FLYING VISIT, KARIEGA, , DADDY’S PRIDE and TROUVAILLE, as also that of MISHKA’S PRIDE (4^th race) and SOUTHERN RULER (6^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

Tr.Dallas Todywalla was fined Rs.1,000/- for running his charge DESPACITO in Emergency Colours i.e. All Black in the above mock race.

RE : JOCKEY S.ZERVAN – REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR DANGEROUS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT, “WHO’SYOURDADDY” IN RACE NO.184 – THE ANGELIQUE PLATE RUN ON SUNDAY, 10^TH MARCH, 2019 :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 17^th March, 2019 interviewed Jockey S.Zervan in the above connection. Jocke S.Zervan stated that his horse had suddenly ducked in, giving him no chance to correct the horse. Having heard Jockey S.Zervan and having viewed the video recording of the race (all angles) as also the previous race i.e. Race No.170, the Stewards of the Club decided to give Jockey S.Zervan the benefit of the doubt for dangerous riding and considered the incident as accidental. Tr.M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race his charge.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 17^th March, 2019 interviewed Jockey S.Zervan in the above connection and having heard him, regretted their inability to accede to his request.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 17^th March, 2019 interviewed App.S.A.Amit and his Spokesman, Mr.Altamaash A.Ahmed, in the above connection.

The Stewards of the Club considered all papers and proceedings before them and having heard App.S.A.Amit / his Spokesman, having viewed the video of Race No.183 (all angles) and having deliberated the matter, decided to reject his appeal.
