RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 10 METRES AWAY FROM 1100 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM 1200 METRES (CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charges LAS SALINAS (1st race) and NIGELLA (5th race), at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer M.Narredu, permission was granted to his Assistant, Mr.Vinesh Naik to saddle his charge KISS THE STAR in the 8th race, at his (Trainer M.Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(199) – THE D.N. ZODGE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed, GRAND GIBRALTAR was examined at 1015 hours on 16/10/2015 and was found to be sore from the left hind leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Soon after the start, LAS SALINAS (App.S.Joseph, dr.6) veered out despite the App. Jockey’s efforts, and went on to QUARTZ (App.Shahrukh Khan, dr.7) and then on to ZAMBIAN (T.S.Jodha, dr.8), as a result QUARTZ (App.Shahrukh Khan) was tightened for room and dropped back. On questioning, App.S.Joseph stated that his mount was inclined to run out throughout the race. The Trainer has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

ZAMBIAN (T.S.Jodha) hung in passing 400 metres. Tr.Rehanullah Khan has been advised to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SPEAR OF TRIUM was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon. ZAMBIAN and LAS SALINAS (examined on 17/10/2015) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(200) – THE CLARION CALL PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 4 Runners

 

After the race, DOMINGO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(201) – THE DOI MOI PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – 6 Runners

 

At the start, RICOCHET (App.S.A.Amit) and SAVAGE BEAUTY (Dashrath Singh) lost about 3 lengths and 5 lengths respectively. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give both the horses more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HIS HIGHNESS (D.K.Ashish) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, HIS HIGHNESS was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.4(202) – THE  ROAD RUNNER  PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

Approaching 600 metres, ABIGAIL (P.Trevor) shifted in and went across IN THE LIMELIGHT (App.S.J.Sunil). On questioning, Jockey P.Trevor stated that his mount shied away from FLYING SHOW (C.S.Jodha) who was racing on his outside.

 

In the last 100 metres, ARIZONA SUN (Dashrath Singh) shifted in on to ABIGAIL (P.Trevor) who was steadied. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of ABIGAIL (P.Trevor) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, STAR was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon and had lost its left hind plate. TOP TRAINER and WINGS OF GLORY were found to be sound.             

 

RACE NO.5(203) – THE  PUNE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Tr.Vinesh submitted a letter stating that he had erroneously accepted with his charge RAPID GIRL on both days and requested permission to run the filly on 17/10/2015 and not in this race. The said permission was granted and Trainer Vinesh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, B FIFTY TWO was examined at 0700 hours on 15/10/2015 and was found to be sore from the left hind leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

JUST BY CHANCE (App.R.Ajinkya) hung out in the last furlong. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ROXELANA was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the filly had a cut injury at the left hock. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VERBIER was found to be sound.

 

 RACE NO.6(204) – THE PEGASUS TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, WOVEN DREAMS was examined at 1000 hours on 16/10/2015 and was found to be sore from the right hind leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

In the process of stalling, BON VIVANT (D.K.Ashish) backed out and kicked SAIL PAST (Dashrath Singh) at the right stifle area. SAIL PAST was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore from the right hind leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

MOUSSAEIF (P.S.Chouhan) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

RASHUN (C.S.Jodha, dr.4) and FEW DOLLARS MORE (N.S.Parmar, dr.5) jumped out awkwardly and made contact.

 

Passing 400 metres, FEW DOLLARS MORE (N.S.Parmar) was observed to have brushed the rails. On questioning, the Jockey stated that his mount was hanging-in in the straight. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey P.Trevor (BRAHMACHARI) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence, his Jockey’s license has been suspended w.e.f.22nd November 2015 to 26th November 2015 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race)

 

On being questioned after the race, Jockey D.K.Ashish (BON VIVANT) stated that his instruction were to sit well up and if the filly goes to the front on her own then to go to the front. He further stated that as the filly did not show any initial speed, he settled her in 5th/6th position and did his best in the straight. The explanation was noted.

 

After the race, RASHUN was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(205) – THE FOURTH ESTATE TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

VOSHKIE (D.K.Ashish) was fractious and reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, PEARL SECRET (App.S.J.Sunil, dr. 5) jumped inwards and made contact with SWARAJ (C.S.Jodha, dr.4).

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of JUDICIOUS (P.Kamlesh) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, PEARL SECRET was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. ESPADA had a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel and at right nostril. JUDICIOUS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(206) – THE NITROUS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

HOME FACTOR (Shrikant Kamble) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, CARIBBEAN LEGEND (J.Chenoy, dr.3) jumped out awkwardly and went on to HOME FACTOR (Shrikant Kamble, dr.4)

 

At the start, ZAFIRAH (Dashrath Singh, dr.7) shifted in on to DAZZLING DANCER (App.S.J.Sunil, dr.6), who in turn went on to RAJPUTANA RIFLES (App.D.S.Daman, dr.5) forcing the latter to shift in and bump CARIBBEAN LEGEND (J.Chenoy dr.3). As Jockey Dashrath Singh had immediately steadied his mount, no action has been taken.

 

After the race, GOLD STREAK and KICKBOXER were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. SPEAR OF TRIUM (1st race), APACHE (2nd race), GLORIOUS OPINION (3rd race), FLYING SHOW (4th race), JUST BY CHANCE (5th race), BRAHMACHARI (6th race), ANGELIC ARIA (7th race) and DAZZLING DANCER (8th race), and the special sample of JUDICIOUS (7th race),  were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ERRATUM

 

RE : RACE NO.8(196) – THE NANOLI STUD PUNE DERBY (GR.1) RUN ON 11TH OCTOBER, 2015:

 

1. It was mentioned in the race day report that Jockey Suraj Narredu (CONTINENTAL) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Subsequently, it was decided not to fine the Jockey since the whip was used as a corrective measure.

 

2. Jockey P.Kamlesh (BULLRUN) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount and not Rs.3,000/- as erroneously mentioned in the race day reports.
