RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 MTRS WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, permission was granted to Trainer Sanjay Kolse to saddle his charge INTENSE BELIEF in the 1st race and CHAMPAGNE SMILE in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer Dallas Todywalla’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Zadmal Singh, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge TARZAN in the 8th race, at his own (Trainer Zadmal Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(109) – THE F. A. & K. A. IRANI CUP: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  10

 

At the start, MARIELLA (S. Zervan, dr.7), INTENSE BELIEF (C. S. Jodha, dr.8), TOOFAAN (S. Saqlain, dr.9) & ESFIR (Bhawani Singh, dr.10) were observed to have jostled in the process INTENSE BELIEF was tightened for room and drop back thereafter ESFIR continued to shift in thereby tightening the field on his inside due to which MARIELLA had to be steadied. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been severely reprimanded.

 

Passing the red marker, CAPRIFLA (Vishal N. Bunde) leaned inwards onto DIVINE SOUL (Akshay Kumar) who in turn shifted in onto SILENT KNIGHT (Akshay Gaikwad) causing both horses to be steadied. Jockey Vishal N. Bunde has been severely reprimanded.

 

Passing the 200 metres, Jockey S. Zervan (MARIELLA) was observed to have been unbalanced. After the race, on questioning, he stated that his filly had changed legs and leaned out due to which he lost his balance momentarily.

 

After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (TOOFAAN) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TOOFAAN & SILENT KNIGHT were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(110) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  10

 

At the start, TURECI (Dashrath Singh, dr.4) & CHAMPAGNE SMILE (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.3) jumped inwards thereby inconveniencing FANCY NANCY (Antony Raj S., dr.2) thereafter FANCY NANCY shifted out and went across TURECI causing the latter to clip its heels and stumble. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

KIMIKO (C. S. Jodha) jumped out slowly losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

From the 200 metres, CLAUDIUS (P. S. Chouhan) was inclined outwards. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (CLAUDIUS) reported the loss of whip at about 300 metres. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, PRINIA was subjected to Veterinary examination and scoping. Subsequently, the Sr. V.O. reported that the filly was trotted and found to be sound but had EIPH (Gr.II).

 

After the race, TURECI was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine hospital reported that the FANCY NANCY had both eye injuries.

RACE NO.3(111) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  10

 

Passing the 700 metres, MIGHTY THUNDER (App. Mustakim Alam) leaned inwards and brushed the haunches of TOUSSAINT (S. J. Sunil) thereafter MIGHTY THUNDER once again leaned at the 600 metres and brushed the haunches of TOUSSAINT who was inclined outwards. App. Mustakim Alam has been severely reprimanded.

 

Jockey Akshay Kumar (MY PRINCESS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Pune Meeting 2022, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, SPIRIT BAY was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(112) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 10

 

PRINCE IGOR (K Nazil, dr.9) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start.

 

Passing the 250 metres, AGOSTINO CARRACCI (P. Trevor) shifted out and bumped NARAKAMICIE (Dashrath Singh). Jockey P Trevor has been cautioned.

 

SILVER STEPS (App. N. K. Ashish) was observed to have trailed the field from 900 Metres for no apparent reason. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

After the race, EYES ON THE PRIZE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SILVER STEPS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(113) – THE NOSHIR & DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION (GRADE 3): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  6

 

At the start, MARKET KING (R. Ajinkya, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with FAST RAIN (N. S. Parmar, dr.3).

 

After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. (IRON AGE) reported the loss of whip at about 150 metres. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, SUPER GIRL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine hospital reported that the ENIGMA had left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.6(114) – BETWAY PUNE DERBY (GRADE 1): (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 8

 

Passing the 1800 metres, EMPEROR RODERIC (Suraj Narredu) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing DYF (P. Trevor) onto WALL STREET (Yash Narredu). After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu reported that his mount was keen and as a result inclined outwards, despite his efforts.

 

After the race, DYF was observed to have lost right hind shoe.

 

The Equine hospital reported that the COEUR DE LION had both eye injuries (sore).

 

RACE NO.7(115) – THE VINAYAK TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12

 

At the request of Trainer Shazaan Shah, HISTORIC was examined in the stable area at 10.35 a.m. on 15/10/2022 and was found to be lame by right fore, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Apprentice Jockey P. Shinde (POWER OF NEATH) placed 2nd by the Judge against Jockey Bhawani Singh (HELA) placed first by the Judge. The reason being, in the last 100 metres, rider of HELA hit him twice with the whip, first on his hand and second time on the Blinker of his horse which was damaged. Thereby his horse shied and it cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection. 

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards a Stewards enquiry was held in this race. The reason being that after the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (JET TYPHOON, dr.12) reported that his horse’s head was in the adjacent stall when the start was effected, as such he was not ready and the start was given thus causing him to lose ground and position.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockey Amyn Merchant and the Starter in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their own judgment, the Stewards decided to maintain the order of placing as declared by the Judge.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, CARLOS (S. J. Sunil) was inclined inwards onto EXPEDITION (H. M. Akshay) and had to be steadied. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JET TYPHOON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine hospital reported that the RED DUST had left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.8(116) – THE PLAY.RWITC.COM CUP  - DIVISION I: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  11

 

MIDAS TOUCH (Bhawani Singh, dr.7) played up after being stalled and casted herself underneath the stall as such the filly was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

JUICED (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.6) who was in the adjoining stall was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and the gelding was found to have bleeding injury on left fore cannon and was certified unfit to race as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, WILLY WONKAA (S. J. Sunil, dr.5) jumped inwards and had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, ANOUSHKA (S. Saqlain) shifted out and went across TARZAN (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing 400 metres, SHERA (S. G. Prasad) shifted out under the whip thereby forcing WILLY WONKAA (S. J. Sunil) outwards onto MYSTERIOUS GIRL (K. Nazil).  Jockey S. G. Prasad has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

In the final stages of the race, INDIAN CROWN (Antony Raj S.) drifted out under the whip thereby taking the ground of RUE ST HONORE’ (Neeraj Rawal). After questioning Jockey Antony Raj S. he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, INDIAN CROWN was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the CLAUDIUS (Winner – 2nd race) & MY PRINCESS (Winner – 3rd race), and the special samples of JET TYPHOON (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of the ENIGMA (Winner – 5th race), LEOPARD ROCK (2nd place – 5th race), KING’S RANSOM (Winner – 6th race), DANGEROUS (2nd place – 6th race) & DYF (3rd place – 6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
