RACE DAY REPORTS
FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ABOUT 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1400 METRES TILL 900 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4.5 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES, WIDTH ABOUT 3 METRES.

RACE NO 1 (9) - THE WIGGLES PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 8
Jockey I.Shaikh, the declared Rider for ASCLEPIEION, did not report at the Scales in time and hence a change of Rider was effected and Jockey Altaf Sayyed was permitted to ride ASCLEPIEION. Jockey I.Shaikh has been fined Rs.5000/- for failing to fulfill his riding engagement.
At the start, ASCLEPIEION (Altaf Sayyed) made contact with BRAVE GUN (R.Shelar) and became unbalanced.
Jockey S.P.Ranjane (LADY BLACK STAR) has been cautioned for travelling wide while negotiating the bend, for no apparent reason.
Jockey Altaf Sayyed (ASCLEPIEION) has been reprimanded for keeping a wide course while negotiating the bend, for no apparent reason.
After the race, POUND FOOLISH was found to be sound.
RACE NO 2 (10) - THE WIGGLES PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 9
DRAMA QUEEN (R.Shelar) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and to show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Relying on a report from the Sr. VO, Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been fined Rs.2000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing in respect of his charge THE RIGHT MAN, wherein the gelding was declared to have Steel plates but was found to have Aluminium Plates.
DRAMA QUEEN ( R.Shelar) threw her head up and was slow to begin.
SECRET TALK (M.Narredu, dr.7) was observed to shift in before the red marker. Although no interference was caused, Jockey M.Narredu has been advised to be more careful while shifting ground soon after the start.
Jockey D.K.Ashish (CALYPSO DANCER) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
TINTISA (S.S.Baria) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, CALYPSO DANCER, SECRET TALK and TINTISA were found to be sound.
RACE NO 3 (11) - THE NECTAR QUEEN PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 10
Jockey M.Narredu (ARIANE) reported that his mount jumped out awkwardly from the Gates.
Near 500 metres, KIMAYA (S.Zervan) was tightened when TYUMEN (S.Sunil) shifted out as ROMAN LEGION (A.Imran Khan) weakened and shifted outwards as the gelding was steadied.
Jockey A.Imran Khan (ROMAN LEGION) reported that he found his mount uncomfortable during the race and therefore had not ridden out in the straight. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that ROMAN LEGION had returned sore by the left hind leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
On questioning, Jockey C.Rajendra (WILNA) stated that his Instructions were to ride his own race and since he was drawn on the outside he could not brush up as he would have travelled wide, hence he had settled his mount where he found himself. The explanation was noted.
After the race, PRIME TIME was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
The Sr.V.O. reported that WILNA was examined after the race at the request of the Stipendiary Stewards and found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
RACE NO 4 (12) - THE SWEET MEMORIES TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 8
Soon after the start, SAN RAFAEL (S.Sunil, dr.8) shifted ground inwards as the Jockey used his whip once.
Trainer Adil Dajee has been fined Rs.1000/- for taking his Charge SUN LIGHT (R.Biramne, placed fourth) away from the paddock, before All Clear was given,
FIRE STREAK (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the straight. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that the filly had returned sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club/s V.O. before next accepting to race.
SUN ELEGANCE (Imran Chisty) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey Imran Chisty were questioned with regard to the running and riding of SUN ELEGNACE. The Jockey was instructed to be well up. The Jockey explained that soon after the start, due to the shifting in of HIGHLAND WARRIOR, he had to steady his mount and thereafter during the race his mount was cramped for room as FIRE STREAK lugged in and then his mount also commenced to lug-in and he had difficulty in keeping the filly on an even keel. It was put to the Jockey that he should have made his move earlier in the straight than he actually did. Trainer C.D.Katrak opined that the Jockey had ridden a feeble race. An enquiry has been initiated in the matter and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, SUN ELEGANCE was found to be sound.
RACE NO 5 (13) - THE SWEET MEMORIES TROPHY (DIV.I) : (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 9
At the start, ILLUMINATE (P.Kamlesh, dr.9) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and went on to BLUE THUNDER (N.S.Parmar, dr.8) who in turn went in and jostled with ALWAYS SMILE (Imran Chisty, dr.7) unbalancing the gelding and its Rider. Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Near 300 metres, KISS AWAY (L.Prashant) was tightened while taking an insufficient gap on the inside of CHECK HER OUT (S.Sunil).
Jockey Imran Chisty (ALWAYS SMILE) has been cautioned for travelling wide while negotiating the bend.
After the race, SEA VALUE was found to have an abrasion on both hind fetlocks and right hind bulb of heel. BLUE THUNDER was found to be sound.
RACE NO 6 (14) - THE ATOMIC PRINCE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 11
Near 100 metres, TSESEBE (App.D.Akkshay) clipped the hind heels of PRINCE LOCHINVA (App.Shrikant Kamble) and stumbled and fell.
Jockey B Prakash (DEMONSTRATOR) reported that near about 600 metres onwards he found his mount uncomfortable. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that DEMONSTRATOR was found to be sound, however, the gelding had lost its both fore plates. An enquiry has been initiated into the matter and a report will be submitted shortly.
Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey Suraj Narredu were questioned regarding the running and riding of FLAMING ARROW. The Trainer opined that the Jockey had made his move too early. It was put to the Jockey that he was feeble in his riding effort in the last 100 metres which may have cost him the race. An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of FLAMING ARROW and a report will be submitted shortly.
RACE NO 7 (15) – THE VELVET ROPE TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 13
On the way to the start, GLOWING STAR (S.Sunil) bolted riderless. The gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.
STAR VISION (J.E.Pereira) reared up and flipped over in the stall, in the process the Jockey was injured and unable to ride. As such, STAR VISION was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. MOON MAIDEN (App.Kavraj Singh) was reluctant to be stalled and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop. Trainers Adil Dajee and Karthik G. have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.
Jockey Imran Chisty (STAR OF
KILLARNEY) reported that his mount was inclined to lug-out in the straight.
Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next
accepting to race the colt.
After the race, STAR OF KILLARNEY and STAR VISION were found to be sound.
RACE NO 8 (16) - THE NECTAR QUEEN PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 9
At the request of Trainer Faisal A.Abbas, SECRET MAGIC was examined at 1900 hours on 15/07/2010 and found to have swelling on the right fore knee due to an injury. As such, the filly was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.
TINTORETTO (App.N.S.Parmar) jumped out awkwardly at the start.
Trainer Nana Raghunath has been fined Rs.500/- for making an error in the Declarations in respect of his charge FISH PILOT.
After the race, EQUALITY was found to be sound.
RACE NO 9 (17) - THE ORANGE FLAME PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 10
At the request of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha, SEPIA TONE was examined at 1930 hours on 15/07/2010 and found to be sore by the left fore and left hind leg. As such, the mare was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Jockey T.Atul (BLAZING SPEED) has been cautioned for shifting in and going across TOP ACTION (R.Shelar), passing the 800 metres.
DAFFODILS (B.Prakash) lugged-in in the final stages. Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.
After the race, STUD OF GOLD was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 9th race viz. BLUSH, UNTOUCHED and HIGHLAND BOUNTY and the special sample of PRIME TIME (3rd race) and DEMONSTRATOR (6th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : APPEAL FROM TRAINER H.J.ANTIA IN RESPECT OF THE FINE OF RS.5000/- IMPOSED ON HIM BY THE STEWARDS – ENQ. INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “ANY TIME MONEY” IN RACE NO.294 – THE ALCHEMY PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 4TH APRIL, 2010 WHICH THE GELDING WON AS COMPARED TO ITS PREVIOUS RUNS DURING THE MUMBAI MEETING 2009/10 WHERE THE GELDING WAS UNPLACED :
The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 16th July, 2010 considered all documents and papers that were submitted and having heard the submissions made by Tr.H.J.Antia, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds, decided to reject his Appeal and forfeit his deposit. The Board was not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer Antia and considering the gravity of the offence, the Board issued a show cause notice to Trainer Antia as to why the punishment should not be enhanced. Not receiving a satisfactory reply to the show cause notice and the details mentioned therein, the Board decided to enhance the fine from Rs.5000/- to Rs.15,000/-.
