RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 1 METRE AT 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AT 800 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer S. Padmanabhan, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charge SPLENDIDO in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer S. Padmanabhan’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Deepesh Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer M. Narredu to saddle his charge NOORIE in the 7th race, at his own (Trainer Deepesh Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

 

RACE NO.1 (110) – THE P. D. BOLTON TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 4

 

After the Race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (SPLENDIDO) reported loss of whip passing the 250 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, SINGER SARGENT & RAMBLER were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (111) – THE HOMI MODY TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2400 METRES – RUNNERS - 3

 

Passing the 300 metres, REGAL COMMAND (N. S. Parmar) leaned inwards and made contact with GOLDEN KINGDOM (C. S. Jodha) on more than one occasion.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (GOLDEN KINGDOM) reported that his mount hung-out in the straight and stated that due to close proximity of REGAL COMMAND (N. S. Parmar) and considering that the gelding was hanging out he was unable to use the whip to correct his mount. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RASPUTIN, GOLDEN KINGDOM & REGAL COMMAND were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (112) – THE GRAND PASSION PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

 

At the start, MAJOR SAAB (Amyn Merchant, dr.5) jumped outwards and made contact with LEO THE LION (App. Mustkim Alam, dr.6).

At the start, UZI (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with DAIANNE (Bhawani Singh, dr.3).

 

After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (MAJOR SAAB) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MAJOR SAAB was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, WILLY WONKAA was observed to have an injury on both hind pasterns.

 

RACE NO.4 (113) – THE M. D. MEHTA TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

On arrival in the paddock, it was observed that Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (EMBER TOWER) was sporting the incorrect racing colors, as such, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe was permitted to wear the emergency racing colors i.e. “ALL BLACK”.

 

DELSTAR (C. S. Jodha, dr.5) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ROSALIA (P. Trevor, dr.7) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race

 

Approaching the 900 metres, WESTERN STAR (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in thereby inconveniencing DELSTAR (C. S. Jodha) and DON JULIO (App. Haridas Gore) causing both horses to be steadied. App. Mustakim Alam has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. Mustakim Alam (WESTERN STAR) reported that his mount lugged-out in the final stages of the race.

 

RACE NO.5 (114) – THE MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

OCEAN (C. S. Jodha, dr.1) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

TOSCANA (A. Sandesh, dr.12) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, UNTITLED (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.6) jumped outwards onto SUSSING (App. S. Saba, dr.7) who in turn shifted out and made contact with NEW YORKER (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.8).

 

At the start, LORD MURPHY (App. S. Siddharth, dr.3) lost its footing, stumbled thereafter leaned inwards and made contact with SILVER STRIKE (Amyn Merchant, dr.2).

 

Soon after the start, UNTITLED (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in onto WIND DANCER (App. Haridas Gore) who in turn shifted in and brushed the haunches of MANOR HOUSE (Akshay Gaikwad) racing along the rails. After questioning and not being satisfied, App. Aditya Waydande has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 300 metres, TOSCANA (A. Sandesh) was observed to have been forcing a passage thereby bumping, tightening and inconveniencing MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (N. S. Parmar) who had to be checked. After questioning all concerned and not being satisfied, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (SILVER STRIKE) reported loss of whip approaching the 400 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (MIDNIGHT EXPRESS) reported that approaching the 700 metres, his mount lost its footing momentarily and stumbled.

 

After the race, MIDNIGHT EXPRESS was observed to have a gum injury.

 

After the race, LORD MURPHY was observed to have lost its left fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.6 (115) – THE AMATEUR RIDERS' CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

On arrival at the starting gates, MISTY (P. Trevor) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, SERRANO (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.8) jumped outwards and made contact with QUICKER (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.9).

 

Passing the 750 meters, FAST APPROACH (T. S. Jodha) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing GODDES OF DAWN (Neeraj Rawal), who had to be steadied. Jockey T. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. Ramswarup (ESPERANZA) reported that passing the 200 metres his mount drifted out under pressure and finished the race on the outer portion of the track. After the race, ESPERANZA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SERRANO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MISTY & BAKLAVA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (116) – THE M. D. MEHTA TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

DANCING CLOUD was not declared to start after accepting with the gelding due to late realization of medication that had been logged. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been fined Rs.5,000/- for his lapse and the gelding was subjected to sampling.

 

At the start, ZEPHYR (S. J. Sunil, dr.4) jumped inwards and brushed the haunches of SANTANA ROW (Shrikant Kamble, dr.3).

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (NOORIE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts.

 

After the race, Jockey C. Umesh (NYANZA) reported that his mount shied away from other horses and was running green in the straight.

 

After the race, at the request of Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain, endoscopy was performed on MINISTRY OF TIME at the Equine Hospital on 16th February 2025 and was diagnosed to have EIPH (Grade 2).

 

RACE NO.8 (117) – THE M. M. T. PANDOLE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

On arrival at the start, it was observed that MOUNT SINAI (T. S. Jodha) had splayed its left fore shoe. As per the norms, the gelding was withdrawn, before coming under the Starter’s order.

 

At the start, OH KAY (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped inwards and made contact with BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.8).

 

Passing the 800 metres, REMY RED (P. Trevor) leaned inwards onto BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening MARLBORO MAN (App. Haridas Gore) racing along the rails. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Santosh G. (OPERATION FINALE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2024/25, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 6th race, viz. CELESTIAL, REGAL COMMAND, UZI & ESPERANZA and the special samples of DANCING CLOUD & MINISTRY OF TIME (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: MORNING TRACKWORK HELD ON 16TH FEBRUARY 2025:

 

CELESTINA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right hind. The filly has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO APP. RAMSWARUP WEIGHING-IN 49.5 KG. I.E. 1.5 KG. OVER THE WEIGHT AT WHICH HE HAD WEIGHED OUT I.E. 48 KG. ON HIS MOUNT “FIDATO” IN RACE NO.107 - THE R. M. & RUKMANI GOCULDAS MILLION - RUN ON 9TH FEBRUARY 2025:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stipendiary Stewards at their meeting held on 14th February 2025, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. Ramswarup, in that, he had weighed in 49.5 kg. i.e. 1.5 Kg. over the weight at which he had weighed out i.e. 48 Kg. on his mount “FIDATO” in the above race. On being questioned, at first he tried to mislead the Stipendiary Stewards and thereafter agreed to have weighed-out using equipments belonging to Jockey T. S. Jodha of an unapproved standard, subsequently, he went in the Jockeys room to change the boots and riding vest thereby hoodwinking the Clerk of the Scales, thus, resulting in being weighed-in by 1.5 kg. over the weight, at which he had weighed out. When confronted with Jockey T. S. Jodha, he stated that App. Ramswarup did not inform him to use his equipment.

 

Therefore, it was decided to suspend Apprentice Jockey’s licence of Mr. Ramswarup for 2 race days i.e. on 6th & 16th March 2025 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for contravention of the Rules of Racing regarding weighing-in/out and his misconduct.

Jodha, in that, during the course of the enquiry, it was found that App. Ramswarup had used an unapproved equipment belonging to Jockey T. S. Jodha, while weighing out on his mount “FIDATO” in the above race. Further, the Stipendiary Stewards took note of the fact that Jockey T. S. Jodha had in his possession in the Jockeys room riding gear that was of an unapproved standard. Hence, they have confiscated the said gear and have decided to fine Jockey T. S. Jodha a sum of Rs.5,000/- for his lapse.

RE: “BEAT THE HEAT” SPORTING THE WRONG SADDLE CLOTH NUMBER DURING THE MORNING STARTING TRIALS ON 8TH FEBRUARY 2025:

 

It was observed that “BEAT THE HEAT” was sporting the wrong saddle cloth number during the morning starting trials on 8th February 2025. As such, Trainer H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for the lapse.

RE: RE-LOOKING AT THE INCIDENT IN RACE NO.104 – THE MULRAJ GOCULDAS TROPHY: RUN ON 9TH FEBRUARY 2025:

 

Approaching the 700 metres, SON OF A GUN (App. Mustakim Alam) leaned outwards at the same time IT’S MY TIME (A. Sandesh) leaned inwards due to which CHRISTOPHANY (Neeraj Rawal) racing on its haunches of the former was held up for room and had to be checked. The Stipendiary Stewards having reviewed the incident and having deliberated on the matter at length, decided to rescind the fine of Rs.5,000/- imposed on App. Mustakim Alam and severely reprimanded him for repeatedly looking back during the race.
