RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES. 

 

On a request from Trainer Subhag Singh, permission was granted to Trainer Zadmal Singh to saddle his charge SUSSEX PRIDE in the 3rd race, at his (Trainer Subhag Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Mansoor Shah, permission was granted to Trainer Shazaan Shah to saddle his charge ALIEN in the 6th race, at his (Trainer Mansoor Shah’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(52) –THE SNOW DEW PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 10 

 

MAJESTIC HONEY (C. S. Jodha) jumped out slow losing about 6 lengths at the start. FAST FUTURE (R. Ajinkya) planted and took no part in the race. Since both the horses had behaved in a similar manner in their previous starts, Trainers Himmat Singh and Narendra Lagad have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with them to race.

 

MATRIOSHKA (Kishore Kadam) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, MYTHICAL SUNRISE (A. Sandesh, dr.5) jumped outwards on to DIWALI LIGHTS (S. Zervan, dr.6) who in turn shifted out and inconvenienced SHIVALIK SKIES (Shrikant Kamble, dr.7).

 

In the final stages of the race, MYTHICAL SUNRISE (A. Sandesh) drifted out under pressure and was steadied.

 

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of DIWALI LIGHTS after its run on 1st December 2016 in Race No.27 and Trainer H. J. Antia was informed that the same has been kept open and a close watch will be kept on the future performance of the gelding. In view of this, the Stipendiary Stewards would further enquire into the improved performance of DIWALI LIGHTS and submit a report shortly.

 

After the race, MAGIC VISION and MZURI (examined on 16/12/2016) were examined in trot and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(53) – THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5

          

After the race, ANTEROS was examined in trot and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(54) – THE DESERT LIGHTNING PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

VINNY THE FEW (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (OTHELLO) reported that his mount was lethargic in the early part of the race.

 

After the race, HIS MASTER’S VICE, REDS REVENGE and ODESSA (examined on 16/12/2016) were examined in trot and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(55) – THE GUEST CONNECTIONS PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12 

 

THERE SHE GOES (R. Ajinkya) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, HIT IT A BOMB (S. Zervan, dr.9) jumped inwards and went across MADEIRA (S. J. Sunil, dr.8) who had to be steadied.

 

At the start, ROMAN GOLD (Bhawani Singh, dr.11) jumped outwards and made contact with DEVOTED (R. Shelar, dr.12).

 

Approaching 400 metres, MILWALKEE (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted out and carried ROMAN GOLD (Bhawani Singh) outwards.

 

In the final stages of the race, SMART CHOICE (Shrikant Kamble) shifted in under pressure thereby inconveniencing DECCAN KING (App. N. Nadeem) along the rails.

 

After the race, MILWALKEE, ROMAN GOLD and RESILIENT (examined on 16/12/2016) were examined in trot and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(56) – THE  SHANTIDAS ASKURAN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 7

 

Soon after the start, NASCAR (App. Raghuveer Singh) shifted in marginally, due to which GOLDEN BELLE (P. Trevor) also shifted in and had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, VICTORIO (S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across TAP DANCE (Kishore Kadam) and UNDISPUTED.(S. Zervan).who had to be steadied  Jockey S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing 800 metres, NASCAR (App. Raghuveer Singh) shifted in thereby tightening VICTORIO (S. J. Sunil) and BE CAUTIOUS (C. S. Jodha). App. Raghuveer Singh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (GOLDEN BELLE) reported that his mount was inclined to run out passing 600 metres and had to be steadied. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, NASCAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GOLDEN BELLE was examined in trot and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(57) – THE VENUS DE MILO PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 14 

 

SHE’S AN ACE (S. Sunil) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, KOAL (App. Parbat Singh, dr.6) jumped inwards on to AEOLUS MAXIMUS (T. S. Jodha, dr.5) who had to be steadied.

 

Passing 1200 metres, Jockey T. S. Jodha (AEOLUS MAXIMUS), in an effort to settle his mount shifted out thereby inconveniencing BACKSTREET BAY (App. D. R. Shubham)

 

Jockey T. S. Jodha (AEOLUS MAXIMUS) has been cautioned for having dropped his hands before passing the Winning Post.

 

RACE NO.7(58) – THE DHUN P. KOTHAVALA TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 18 

 

Trainer S. S. Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for having declared Jockey T. S. Jodha on his charge HOPE SPRINGS without confirming the ride with him.

 

ROYAL SAPPHIRE (Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, NEW ENGLAND (J. E. Pereira, dr. 5) was slow to begin and jumped outwards.

 

At the start, DESERT RAGE (R. Ajinkya, dr.17) jumped inwards due to which RIOT OF COLOURS (D. S. Daman, dr.16) shifted inwards and bumped ETERNAL DANCER (Kishore Kadam, dr.15), who in turn shifted in forcing BEE QUIRKY (Neeraj Rawal, dr.14) HOPE SPRINGS (T. S. Jodha, dr.13) and LADY COACHMAN (G. Amit, dr.12) inwards. As a consequence of this, LADY COACHMAN (G. Amit) brushed the haunches of MT TIANMEN (App. S. A. Amit) thereby unbalancing the latter.  

 

Passing 800 metres, RIOT OF COLOURS (D. S. Daman) shifted in and bumped AME (P. Trevor).

 

Passing 700 metres, LADY COACHMAN (G. Amit) shifted in and brushed the haunches of MIZILLA GOLD (Akshay Gaikwad) who was unbalanced and thereafter further shifted in and bumped NEW ENGLAND (J. E. Pereira) who was racing along the rails and had to be checked. Jockey G. Amit has been suspended for. 1st January 2017 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that during the race, DANCING MAJESTY had a fall on the track at about 700 metres. On examination, fracture at right shoulder was observed, with painful swelling. First Aid treatment was given and subsequently the gelding was euthanized on humane grounds after obtaining consent of the Trainer.

 

In the final stages of the race, ROYAL SAPPHIRE (Bhawani Singh) shifted out thereby inconveniencing ARC OF PASSION (S. Joseph). Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned

 

After the race, App. Vishal N. Bunde (ZADORA) reported that the saddle on his mount had shifted forward passing the 200 metres. Trainer Nosher Cama has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

 

After the race, HOPE SPRINGS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of LADY COACHMAN and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, NEW ENGLAND, LADY COACHMAN (examined on 16/12/2016) and RIOT OF COLOURS (examined on 16/12/2016), were examined in trot and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(59) – THE GUEST CONNECTIONS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12 

 

FROSTED (D. S. Daman) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ISINIT (Amyn Merchant) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, SILVER MOON (Bhawani Singh, dr.10) jumped outwards and at the same time BOHEMIAN (App. N. Nadeem, dr.12) jumped inwards thereby tightening GOLDSMITH (App. K. Nazil, dr.11).

 

Soon after the start, STAR ACE (S. A. Amit dr.4) who was racing between FASHIONABLE GAIT (Santosh. G. dr.3) and RICARDUS (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.5) was hampered for room and had to be steadied.

 

At about 250 metres, FASHIONABLE GAIT (Santosh G.) was observed to shift in on to RICARDUS (App. Vishal N. Bunde) who was unsettled and had to be checked. On questioning, Jockey Santosh G. stated that in an effort to get a clear run he had shifted in, however, the filly had reacted drastically to his action and veered inwards despite his efforts. 

 

After the race, Apprentice N. Nadeem (BOHEMIAN) reported that at the start his mount had suddenly shifted in due to which his right leg had slipped out of his stirrups which he regained shortly.

 

After the race, TONTERIA, FASHIONABLE GAIT and BOHEMIAN were examined in trot and found to be sound. GOLDSMITH had lost its left fore plate.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 8th race, viz. PALATIAL, NAME OF THE GAME, DENNY CRANE and TCHIBOUELA, and the special sample of LADY COACHMAN (7th race),were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
