RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METERS WIDE FROM 2400 METERS TO 2200 MTRS, RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METERS TO 1600 METERS, RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METERS WIDE AT 1400 METERS, RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METERS WIDE AT 1200MTRS TO 600 MTRS, THEREAFTER 6 METERS WIDE UPTO WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METERS WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Dallas Todywalla, permission was granted to Trainer Sanjay Kolse to saddle his charge RAFFAELLO in the 3rd race, RODRIGO in the 4th race, WERONIKA & HABIBI in the 5th race and LOVE WARRIOR in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer Dallas Todywalla’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer Aravind G., permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge SMITHSONIAN in the 2nd race, at his own (Trainer Aravind G.’s) risk and responsibility.

 

On a request from Trainer S. Ganapathy, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge LIGHTNING FLAME in the 1st race, at his own (Trainer S. Ganapathy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.2(103) – THE LUXURY GROOMERS TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  8

 

FLAMING FIRE (S. Saqlain, dr.3) jumped out slowly losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, MAGILITO (Akshay Kumar) shifted in and went across JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe) causing the latter to be checked and in the process JETFIRE leaned-in onto SMITHSONIAN (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey Akshay Kumar has been severely reprimanded.

 

Jockeys Prashant P. Dhebe (JETFIRE), Neeraj Rawal (SMITHSONIAN) & K. Nazil (SAN SALVATORE) have been cautioned for weighing out late.

 

After the race, SMITHSONIAN was trotted and found to be sound and HILMA KLINT was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

The Equine hospital reported that JETFIRE had right eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.3(104) – THE SIR SULTAN CHINOY TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  10

 

On the arrival at the start, PRIDE’S ANGEL (A. Sandesh) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

At the request of Jockey P. Trevor (PETRONIA) the saddle on his mount was adjusted at the starting gates.

 

Trainer S. S. Attaollahi informed that his Apprentice Jockey Shreyas Singh S. had ridden in the last race at Mysore Race Club. Whilst travelling from Mysore to Bangalore he got delayed to reach the airport due to heavy rains and traffic, as such, he missed his flight.

 

After the race, App. Kirtish Bhagat (TERESITA) reported the loss of whip passing the 400 metres. This being the first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (COUNT OF SAVOY) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (PURE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, COUNT OF SAVOY & PRIDE’S ANGEL were trotted and found to be sound and PURE & KINNARA were trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

The Equine hospital reported that KINNARA had left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.4(105) – THE LUXURY GROOMERS TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 8

 

At the start, MAJESTIC WARRIOR (J. Chinoy, dr.6) jumped outwards and went across REMUS (Antony Raj S., dr.7) causing the latter to be checked and drop back. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, DESERT FIRE (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted out and made contact with FARELL (R. Ajinkya) forcing it outwards onto MAJESTIC WARRIOR (J. Chinoy). App. Mustakim Alam has been severely cautioned.

 

Passing the 900 metres, RODRIGO (A. Sandesh) shifted out thereby tightening DESERT FIRE (App. Mustakim Alam) who had to be checked. Jockey A. Sandesh has been severely cautioned.

 

App. Kirtish Bhagat (BABY BAZOOKA) has been cautioned for weighing out late.

 

After the race, SOUP AND SANDWICH was found to be in distress accordingly the treatment was given.

 

After the race, DESERT FIRE & RODRIGO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine hospital reported that FARREL had right eye injury.

 

RACE NO.5(106) – THE PRIDE GROUP MULTI-MILLION: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  10

 

At the start, GOLDEN LIONESS (Suraj Naredu, dr.4) jumped outwards onto PHANTA (S. J. Sunil, dr.5) forcing its out thereby brushing the haunches of HOUSE OF LORDS (J. Chinoy, dr.6) causing the later to be unbalanced at this juncture QUEENS PRIDE (P. Trevor, dr.7) who had jumped outwards onto WERONIKA (C. S. Jodha, dr.8) ricochet inwards and went across HOUSE OF LORDS (J. Chinoy, dr.6). In view of the behavior, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge GOLDEN LIONESS more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 600 metres, PHANTA (S. J. Sunil) was checked as a result the filly was unbalanced. Subsequently, on questioning, Jockey S. J. Sunil stated that due to the inward movement of HOUSE OF LORDS (J. Chinoy) his filly had shied and lost her footing thereafter the filly hung out and finished on the extreme outside, despite his efforts. In view of the same, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey J. Chinoy (HOUSE OF LORDS) placed fourth by the Judge against Jockey P. Trevor (QUEENS PRIDE) placed second by the Judge. The reason being, soon after the jump QUEENS PRIDE has came on to HOUSE OF LORDS much before the 50 metres marker, which had caused him to lose tremendous ground in a short distance race and still managed to finish fourth.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection. 

 

Jockey P. Trevor (QUEENS PRIDE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, Jockey P. Trevor stated that his mount had drifted out in the straight and thereafter leaned inwards and hence was maintaining an erratic course as such he had used the whip as a corrective measures.

 

After the race, PHANTA & QUEENS PRIDE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine hospital reported that GOLDEN LIONESS had left eye injury (sore), HOUSE OF LORDS had right eye injury (sore), WALTER had both eye injuries and PHANTA had left eye injury.

 

RACE NO.6(107) – THE N. K. PUDUMJEE CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 13

 

Soon after the start, MILLI (Antony Raj S.) shifted in onto VINCENT VAN GOGH (A. Sandesh) who inturn shifted in thereby tightening MICHIGAN (C. S. Jodha) along the rails causing the latter to be checked and drop back. After the race, on questioning, Jockey Anthony Raj S. stated that his mount jumped inwards awkwardly. However, Jockey Antony Raj S. has been asked to be more cautious at the start in the future.

 

Passing the 1200 metres, VINCENT VAN GOGH (A. Sandesh) was observed to have stumbled. After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh reported that his mount hung-in in the early part of the race. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VINCENT VAN GOGH was trotted and found to be sound but had cut injury on outer bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.7(108) – THE SURESH MAHINDRA TROPHY: (About) 3200 Metres – Runners -  4

 

At the request of Trainer S. S. Attaollahi, PISSARO was examined in the stable area at 08.45 a.m. on 15/10/2022 and was found to be lame by left hind and swelling over left hind fetlock, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine hospital reported that TRULY EPIC both eye injuries (sore).

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd & 6th race, viz. PRIDE’S ANGEL & LOVE WARRIOR, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood sample of the winner of the 5th race, viz. MOJO, was collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE:   CARELESS RIDING ON YOUR MOUNT “ESPERANZA” IN RACE NO.81 – THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY - RUN ON 18TH SEPTEMBER 2022:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October 2022, having heard Jockey S. Zervan and having viewed the video of Race No.81, the Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and held him guilty of careless riding. Therefore, it was decided to fine him a sum of Rs.5,000/-.

 

RE:   CARELESS RIDING ON YOUR MOUNT “FAIRUZA” IN RACE NO.91 – THE SOUTHERN COMMAND TROPHY DIV.I - RUN ON 25TH SEPTEMBER 2022:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October 2022, having heard Jockey S. Zervan and having viewed the video of Race No.91, the Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and held him guilty of careless riding. Therefore, it was decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence for two race days i.e. on 6th November 2022 and first race day of Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, date of which will be intimated in due course (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

RE: APPEAL AGAINST THE FINE OF RS.2,000/- IMPOSED ON JOCKEY J. CHINOY FOR IMPROPER USE OF THE WHIP ON HIS MOUNT “ALPINE STAR” (LATE: MONT BLANC) IN RACE NO.91 – RUN ON 25TH SEPTEMBER 2022.

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October 2022, having heard the submissions made by Jockey J. Chinoy, the Stewards decided to allow his appeal and rescind the fine of Rs.2,000/- imposed on him by the Stipendiary Stewards, however, the Stewards decided to cautioned his severely for using the whip in an improper manner.

 

RE: APPEAL AGAINST THE FINE OF RS.10,000/- IMPOSED ON TR. IMTIAZ A. SAIT FOR SADDLE SLIPPING FORWARD ON HIS CHARGE “FIDATO” IN RACE NO.55 – RUN ON 3RD SEPTEMBER 2022 – THIRD OFFENCE DURING THE CURRENT PUNE MEETING 2022.

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October 2022, the Stewards regret their inability to accede the above request as his appeal was time barred.

 

SUB:   DANGEROUS RIDING ON YOUR MOUNT “FOREST FLAME” IN RACE NO.98 – THE THREPTIN FILLIES’ & MARES STAKES (GR.3) - RUN ON 9TH OCTOBER 2022:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter, the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October 2022, having heard Jockey A. Sandesh and having viewed the video of Race No.98, the Stewards held him guilty of dangerous riding. Therefore, it was decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence for five race days i.e. on 6th November 2022 and w.e.f. first race day to fourth race day of Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, date of which will be intimated in due course (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).
