RACE NO 1 (205) - THE KIR ROYALE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7
Soon after the start, AMBEROGIO (Kavraj Singh, dr. 3) shifted out and MOMENT TO REMEMBER (Shrikant Kamble, dr.4) shifted in and made contact with each other. Both the Jockeys, Kavraj Singh & Shrikant Kamble, have been asked to be more alert at the Gates.
After the race, AMBEROGIO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and also had a cut injury at the right hind cannon. Being a second time bleeder, the mare is not to race for the stipulated period of 8 weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, SABA and MARUDHARA RATAN were found to be sound.
RACE NO 2 (206) - THE ARTOIS PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS – 11
FINAL ATTACK (J.Chinoy) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Passing 800 metres, RED SENSATION (Dashrath Singh) shifted out and caused BRAVE GYPSY (Aadesh Kumar) to travel wide. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Jockey Suraj Narredu (ASLAN) reported that near 500 metres, his mount was held up for a run for few strides and ridden in check, while racing behind RADICAL MACKIE (P.Trevor) and on the inside of MALISCHKA (Ishwar Pardeshi).
Soon on entering the straight, FINAL ATTACK (J.Chinoy) caused BRAVE GYPSY (Aadesh Kumar) to travel wider as the former was ridden out to progress in the race.
Jockey Kavraj Singh (SACRED RELIC) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race RADICAL MACKIE and APHRODITE were found to be sound. BRAVE GYPSY was examined on 16/10/2011 and found to be sound.
RACE NO 3 (207) - THE COOLMORE STUD CRYSTAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS – 4
PURE ELATION (Neeraj Rawal) was restless in the stall. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Jockey Akash Agarwal (SET AFIRE) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in under the use of the whip in the last 200 metres.
After the race, OCEAN WISH was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel. SET AFIRE was found to be sound.
RACE NO 4 (208) – THE PUNE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: – (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS – 10
OCTOPAUL (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Near 500 metres, POUND FOOLISH (P.Trevor) was steadied and shifted in as GATRAVAT (I.Shaikh) shifted inward due to the bend, and made contact with WESTERLIE (A.Sandesh) who lost position. The incident was accidental, as such no action was initiated against any jockey.
In the final stages of the race, SADDLERS RULE (P.S.Chouhan) shifted out and made contact with FLYING JEWEL (P.Kamlesh).
Jockey Dashrath Singh (OCTOPAUL) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift inwards in the final 200 metres.
After the race, FLOODS OF FORTUNE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, SADDLERS RULE and GATRAVAT were found to be sound.
RACE NO 5 (209) - THE GREY MAGIC PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS – 7
Jockey Ladjadj Stephane (FORWARD CHARGE) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift inwards in the final 200 metres and in the process went across SNOW QUEEN (C.Rajendra).
After the race, SNOW QUEEN was found to be sore by the left fore leg and STARSEEKER was sore by the right fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, VENUS ROSEWATER and FORWARD CHARGE were found to be sound.
RACE NO 6 (210) - THE GOFFS SALVER: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS – 10
Approaching 400 metres, KNIGHTON (Ladjadj Stephane) shifted out and forced his way when there was insufficient room and jostled with BRETTON WOODS (C.Ruzaan). Jockey Ladjadj Stephane was reported to the Stewards for Careless Riding. The Stewards interviewed Jockey Ladjadj Stephane and having heard his submissions made and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to suspend his Jockey’s License for 13th November 2011 (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race) for careless riding.
After the race, SMART HUNTER was observed to have a cut injury at the right hock. FORTUNE HUNTER and SAIFEENA were found to be sound.
RACE NO 7 (211) – THE DESERT CARNIVAL PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS – 13
At the Start, HERZELIYAH (Kavraj Singh, dr.9) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to KATRINA (C.S.Jodha, dr.10). ARSHAVIN (P.S.Chouhan, dr.3) also jumped out awkwardly outwards and went on to STYLISH STROKES (Shammi Khan, dr.4).
Passing 200 metres, ATLANTIC STAR (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and went across INSITE SOUL (Amyn Merchant). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.
Near 100 metres, TWITTILLATOR (A.Sandesh) lugged in and hampered the running of HERMANN (S.Sunil). Trainer Robert D’Mellow has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
Jockey Akash Agarwal (DAREDEVIL) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
The explanation of Jockey A.Sandesh (TWITTILLATOR) that in the final stages of the race, his leg made contact with one of the metallic plates placed on the Inner running rails and therefore he had weakened in his riding effort was noted.
After the race, STYLISH STROKES was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern and LAKE HURON had a gum injury.
RACE NO 8 (212) - THE SURESH MAHINDRA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 3200 METRES - RUNNERS – 2
The Sr.V.O. reported that DOI MOI was examined on 16/10/2011 and found to be sore by the left fore leg and also had a cut injury between the left fore bulb of heel. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 7th & 8th race, viz. BANANA BOY & DOI MOI and the special sample of AMBEROGIO (1st race), OCEAN WISH (3rd race), FLOODS OF FORTUNE (4th race), CARPE DIEM (6th rac) and ARABIAN POWER (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : RACE NO.82 – THE AIR DASH PLATE RUN ON 21ST AUGUST, 2011 – JOCKEY S.SUNIL, RIDER OF “VIVA LA DIVA” – REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR DANGEROUS RIDING :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October, 2011 interviewed Jockey S.Sunil in the above connection and having heard the submission made and viewing the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey S.Sunil. However, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit of a grave doubt for the charge of dangerous riding and held him guilty of careless riding on his mount VIVA LA DIVA in the above race. In that, near 500 metres, he first shifted in and when he realized that there was a horse on his inside, he immediately shifted outwards and in doing so, took the running of TUDOR REGENT (Shrikant Kamble) who clipped the hind heels of VIVA LA DIVA and stumbled, dislodging the rider.
Taking an overall view and giving some consideration to the explanation of Jockey S.Sunil that he had moved out at that stage to save the interference to the horse on his inside, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 13th November, 2011 to 17th November, 2011 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race). Further, he was cautioned to be more careful in the future.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “OCEANIC WISDOM” IN RACE NO.161 – THE MENORAH TROPHY RUN ON 24TH SEPTEMBER, 2011 :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October, 2011 considered the Stipendiary Stewards note in the above connection. The Stewards interviewed Trainer Vinayak and Jockey T.Mahesh and having considered the submissions made and viewing the video recording of Race No.161 :-
a) The Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey T.Mahesh in the subject case. However, they decided to give him the benefit of a grave doubt for the charge of “not permitting his mount to run on merits” and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on his mount OCEANIC WISDOM in the above race. The Stewards noted that he was very feeble in his riding effort in the straight and when he used the whip with the right hand, his left hand was not moving.
Taking an overall view and considering that the horse was at longer odds, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 13th November, 2011 to 25th December, 2011 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding on his mount OCEANIC WISDON (Not permitted to ride work/mock race).
b) The Stewards were also not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer Vinayak in the subject case and held the view that the Jockey would have not ridden in this manner unless he had the Trainer’s tacit approval. Therefore, the Stewards decided to fine him a sum of Rs.25,000/- for unsatisfactory running of his charge OCEAN WISDOM in Race No.161. Further, he was severely cautioned for the future.
RE : COMPLAINT FROM THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS AGAINST MR.B.R.KAUSTUBH, ASSISTANT TRAINER REGARDING HIS CONDUCT AND NON CO-OPERATION AND FAILING TO APPEAR BEFORE THEM WHEN ASKED TO DO SO :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 15th October, 2011 considered note from the Stipendiary Stewards in the above connection. The Stewards interviewed Mr.B.R.Kaustubh and having heard the submissions made by him as also the Officials concerned, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Mr.B.R.Kaustubh and held him guilty of aggressive behavior towards the Club’s Officials and not co-operating and failing to appear before the Club’s Officials when asked to do so. However, keeping in mind that Mr.B.R.Kaustubh had tendered an apology, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.25,000/-. Further, he was severely cautioned that on a repetition of a similar offence, severe action would be initiated against him.
