RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT AND 3. METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE

 

RACE NO.1(86) –  THE JEFFERSON PLATE : (About) 2400 Metres – 6 Runners

 

Approaching the 550 metres, SILVER KING (S. Zervan) who was racing between PRINCIPESSA (App.P. S. Kaviraj) and FANFARE (C. S. Jodha) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

 

The saddle on FANFARE (C.S.Jodha) was observed to have shifted forward during the race, as such, Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling.

 

RACE NO.2(87) –  THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres – 5 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Rehanullah Khan, SAFDAR was examined at 1005 hours on 14/09/2019 and found to have swelling at the right fore and right hind fetlock, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (BARACK) reported that his mount was erratic in the straight. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race Jockey N.S.Parmar (BARACK) reported the loss of whip in the final stages of the race. As this was his first instance during the Pune Meeting 2019, no action has been initiated

 

After the race, BARACK and LORRAINE were trotted and found to be sound. BARACK had lost its right fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.3(88) –  THE RAO SAHEB KEDARI GOLD TROPHY : (About) 1200 Metres –  15 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, DANCING LANCES was examined at 1720 hours on 12/09/2019 and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

ROSPOMARE (Amyn Merchant) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

FREE GOLD (Y.S.Srinath) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, JULIO CESARO (J. Chinoy) was observed to have stumbled and had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, FURIOSA (S. Sunil, dr.12) shifted in under urgings and went across PULVERIZE (Bhawani Singh, dr.11) causing the latter to be checked and change course thereby inconveniencing USTAD PEDRO (Hanumant Singh, dr.10). Jockey S. Sunil has been fined Rs2,000/-.

 

Soon after the start, PLEIADES (A. Imran Khan, dr.6) shifted out under urgings and went on to COLOSSEUM (App. N. Nadeem, dr.9). Jockey A. Imran Khan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the1000 metres, COLOSSEUM (App. N. Nadeem) shifted out and made contact with FURIOSA (S. Sunil) causing the latter to be checked and drop back. App. N. Nadeem has been cautioned

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (SUPER MARIO) reported that his mount hung-in despite his efforts. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (ENID BLYTON) reported that passing the 400 metres he was blocked of a clear run

 

The Equine Hospital reported that PULVERIZE had right eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, SUPER MARIO was trotted and found to be sound. GUARNERIUS had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.4(89) –  THE INGLENOOK PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Bezan Chenoy, CONGRESSIONAL was examined at 0900 hours on 13/09/2019 and found to have fever. Also, the gelding had swelling on the left hind leg, as such he was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, FLAMING MARTINI (P. Trevor, dr.4) jumped outwards and at the same time BESHIKTASH (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby tightening RIQUEWIHR (App. K. Pranil, dr.5).

 

Approaching the 600 metres, INTENSE STYLIST (C.S.Jodha) shifted in on to POKERFACE (App. K. Nazil), who in turn shifted in thereby tightening FLAMING MARTINI (P. Trevor) along the rails, causing the latter to be checked and drop back. After questioning all concerned, Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 600 meters, RIQUEWIHR (App. K. Pranil) shifted out and went across BESHIKTASH (App. N. B. Kuldeep) causing the latter to be checked and drop back. On questioning, App. K. Pranil stated that his mount veered out despite his efforts. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, App. K. Nazil (POKERFACE) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

At the one furlong crossing JOPLIN (Yash Narredu) was observed to have lost its stride.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that BESHIKTASH had right eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation) and RIQUEWIHR had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation, corneal ulcer).

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that POKERFACE was examined at t he stables on 16/09/2019 and found to be sound in the trot.  The gelding had sore eyes.

 

RACE NO.5(90) –  THE VILLOO C.POONAWALLA MILLION : (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the start, AIRMAX (App. K. Nazil, dr.2) jumped inwards on to QUESTINA (P. Trevor, dr.1).

 

After the race, QUESTINA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(91) –  THE  S.A.POONAWALLA MILLION (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

 

The Equine Hospital reported that TROUVAILLE had left eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, VICTORIOUS SERMON was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon.

 

RACE NO.7(92) –  THE  GREAT SECRET PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

NATIVE PRINCE (App.M.Ayyar) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

BIG BEN (N.S.Parmar) jumped out throwing its head thus losing about a length at the start.

 

Soon after the start, REGAL SHOT (Bhawani Singh) shifted out and went across BIG BEN (N. S. Parmar) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Passing the 600 metres, HI HO SILVER (App. P. Vinod) shifted out and carried HONOURABLE EYES (App. A. S. Peter) outwards. After questioning, App. P. Vinod has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (STAR SILVER) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight and in the process he had brushed the rails. Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan (SHE’S A TIGER) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that NAVIGATOR had right eye injury (sore eye) and REGAL SHOT had injury to both eyes (sore eyes).

 

After the race, HI HO SILVER was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.8(93) –  THE  GREAT SECRET PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

After being stalled, SAFFRON FLOWER (Santosh G) kept rushing the front gate. The mare was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified her fit to race. FOUNTAINHEAD (J.Chinoy) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainers Adhirajsingh Jodha and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GRAND CHIEFTAIN (Bhawani Singh, dr.9) jumped out awkwardly and brushed the haunches of VITESSE (App.A.S.Peter, dr.8) who jumped outwards.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, LILIBETH (App.K.Nazil) shifted out under urgings thereby inconveniencing SAFFRON FLOWER (Santosh G). After questioning, App.K.Nazil has been cautioned.

 

App. K.Nazil (LILIBETH) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the Pune meeting 2019, he has been fined RS.3,000/-.

 

Jockey Santosh G (SAFFRON FLOWER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his second offence during the Pune meeting 2019, he has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GRAND CHIEFTAIN had right eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, FOUNTAINHEAD was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock and SO SPLENDID had an abrasion at the right hind fetlock.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th race viz. LORRAINE, COPPER QUEEN, SULTAN SULEIMAN, SHE’S A TIGER and ETERNAL DANCER, as also that of TROUVAILLE (6th race) and the special sample of QUESTINA (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
