RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METRES TO 1400 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 6METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES THEREAFTER 8 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST.RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

RACE NO.1(38) – THE ASTRAL FLARE PLATE  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  9

 

After the race on being questioned, Jockey J. Chinoy (MIGHTY THUNDER) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MIGHTY THUNDER (J. Chinoy) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, TABRIZ was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BOMBER & MIGHTY THUNDER were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that BOMBER was found sore - left eye, sore and ulcer in right eye.

 

 

RACE NO.2(39) – THE UNFORGETTABLE YOU PLATE: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS -  6

 

After the race, KIEFER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(40) – THE B. K. LAGAD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  12

 

At the request of Trainer Vinesh, CHARLIE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area and was found to have Colic, as such, the horse was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the change of Jockey of PRIDE’S ANGEL and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

SWIFT (App. N. Bhosale, dr.2) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, COEUR DE LION (App. Mustakim Alam) was observed to have shifted in sharply under urgings cutting across the field before the red marker. App. Mustakim Alam has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Soon after the start, due to a tightly packed field SWIFT (App. N. Bhosale) had to be steadied.

 

After the race, BELLATOR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GIANT STAR was found sore - left eye.

 

RACE NO.4(41) – THE MAGANSINGH P. JODHA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES –RUNNERS- 14

 

At the request of Trainer P. Shroff, CONSTABLE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area and was found to have Colic, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

CYRENAICA (S. Zervan) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer S K Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled ALEXANDROS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.9) flipped over in the stall and got casted himself underneath the stall. As such, the colt was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Further, the colt was examined by Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have gum injury.

 

In view of above incident, KINGS LOVE (P. Trevor, dr.8) who was in the adjoining stall was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, CYRENAICA (S. Zervan, dr.5) jumped inwards and KUBRIC (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) jumped outwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, WINTER AGENDA (M. S. Deora, dr.7) jumped inwards and went across MADRAS CHEQUE (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.6)

 

Soon after the start, FONTANA (C. Umesh) veered inwards and went across BAY OF BISCAY (Shrikant Kamble) and OPERATION FINALE (S. P. Ranjane) who were marginally slow to begin causing both the horses to be checked. After the race, Jockey C. Umesh reported that his mount was running green throughout the race.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, MADRAS CHEQUE (P. S. Kaviraj) racing between CYRENAICA (S. Zeravn) and ASHFORD (J. Chinoy) was tightened for room and dropped back thereafter CYRENAICA shifted in and went across MADRAS CHEQUE causing the latter to check and drop back due to which KUBRIC (T. S. Jodha) racing on its haunches had to be checked.

 

Approaching the 500 metres, MADRAS CHEQUE (P. S. Kaviraj) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping JULIUS (Bhawani Singh). Jockey P. S. Kaviraj has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, JULIUS (Bhawani Singh) shifted in and went across KANYA RASHI (Antony Raj S.) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey J. Chinoy (ASHFORD) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race.

 

It was observed that Jockey Antony Raj S. (KANYA RASHI) had used the whip in an improper manner. After questioning, Jockey Antony Raj S. has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, WINTER AGENDA & ASHFORD were trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, CYRENAICA was found to have multiple bruises on left hock and MADRAS CHEQUE was found to have cut injury on right fore cannon.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that YARMOUTH was found ulcer – right eye.

 

RACE NO.5(42) – THE PRIDE GROUP INDEPENDENCE MILLION - A VENTURE BY MR. SUDENDU SHAH: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS -  14

 

JERUSALEM (Yash Narredu, dr.9) jumped out slowly losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, A Stewards enquiry was initiated into the race, reason being the saddle used on DJANGO (T. S. Jodha) placed 4th by the Judge was observed to have slipped resulting in the led bag having fallen during the race. On being weighed in after the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha was unable to draw the proper weight. As such, the Stewards decided to disqualify DJANGO (Placed 4th) by the Judge and the revised order of placing was as follows:

SECOND        -           VINCENT VAN GOGH          FOURTH        -           CHAT

 

In view of above, Trainer Behram Cama has been fined Rs.2,000/- being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Pune Meeting 2023.

 

After the race, AMBER KNIGHT was trotted and found to be sound and CHAT was observed to have lost its right hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.6(43) – THE LETO TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, POWER OF BLESSINGS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area and was found to be sore by left fore, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SILENT KNIGHT (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.7) jumped outwards at the same time COME BACK PLEASE (S. G. Prasad, dr.10) jumped inwards due to which ESFIR (K. Nazil, dr.8) and DAGGER’S STRIKE (App. Haridas Gore, dr.9) drawn between them were tightened.

 

Passing the 1300 metres, COME BACK PLEASE (S. G. Prasad) shifted in and went across SILENT KNIGHT (P. S. Kaviraj) causing the latter to be checked. Jockey S. G. Prasad has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 400 metres, MIDAS TOUCH (Bhawani Singh) shifted out under urgings and made contact with ESFIR (K. Nazil). Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, App. Haridas Gore (DAGGER’S STRIKE) reported that he was denied a clear passage in the straight, as such, he was unable to ride out his mount to complete advantage.

 

RACE NO.7(44) – THE ASTRAL FLARE PLATE  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  10

 

Soon after the race, Trainer Dallas Todywalla reported that he was not satisfied with the riding efforts of Jockey S. Saqlain on his charge CHAMPAGNE SMILE. The Stipendiary Stewards are looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, SWEET EMOTION was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s Sr. V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ALMAS was found sore - left eye, sore and ulcer in right eye.
