RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Suresh Chavan to saddle his charge TEJ E SHAHI in the 5^th race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (347) – THE S.A.WAHID PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 7

COUGAR (M.A.Roushan) was slow to move when the gates were released.

Approaching 400 metres, FRIENDLY (Deep Shanker) was hampered for a run while racing behind APACHE INDIAN (App.Tushar Nemane) and PERFECT STRENGTH (T.S.Jodha).

Passing 200 metres, CAVALRYMAN (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and caused APACHE INDIAN (App.Tushar Nemane) to shift inwards. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

Jockey D.K.Ashish (ADVENTURER) was observed to have dropped his hands before passing the Post, which may have cost him the 3^rd place, the verdict being a Head. The matter was been reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Jockey D.K.Ashish and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, held him guilty of dropping his hands before passing the winning post, which may have cost him the third place. Therefore, the Stewards decided that should he apply for a Jockey’s license, the same will be granted to him, however, his license shall stand suspended w.e.f. 5^th August, 2012 to 11^th August, 2012 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work). Further, he was warned to be more careful in the future.

After the race, MADAGASCAR and ADVENTURER were found to be sound.

RACE NO.2 (348) – THE J.ROBINSON PLATE : (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 4

Soon on entering the straight, KRYPTON (A.Sandesh) lugged inwards and went in on to ZANTHOS (Y.S.Srinath). Thereafter, ZANTHOS shifted out forcing its way and jostled with KRYPTON. The matter was reported to Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

The Stewards interviewed Jockey Y.S.Srinath and Jockey A Sandesh who was accompanied by his Spokesman, Mr.S.Kapoor and having heard the submissions made and having viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Y.S.Srinath and, held him guilty of riding in an Improper manner. Therefore, the Stewards decided :-

a) that if Jockey Y.S.Srinath applies for a Jockey’s license for the Season 2012/13, the same will be granted to him, however, his license shall stand suspended w.e.f. 26^th July, 2012 to 4^th August, 2012 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race); and

b) to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/-.

After the race, RODEO was observed to have lost his left hind plate. KRYPTON and ZANTHOS were found to be sound.

RACE NO.3 (349) – THE REGAL EQUITY PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres - Runners – 6

MAJOR WAGER (App.Tushar Nemane, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to IBIS (A.Sandesh, dr.4).

MAJOR WAGER (App.Tushar Nemane) shifted in before the Red Marker, as such, App.Tushar Nemane has been cautioned.

After the race, DEEP PURPLE and TELL ME MORE were found to be sound.

RACE NO.4 (350) – THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 12

Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with her charge VELOCITY without obtaining a Starting Stall Certificate. The horse was struck out.

CONZTANZA was withdrawn on compassionate grounds.

At the start, ENCORE (App.Tushar Nemane, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards on to AUTUMN RUSH (A.J.Nilesh, dr.6).

At the start, AFSOON (App.Prasad, dr.11) jumped out awkwardly inwards on to INTEQUAM (Amyn Merchant, dr.10) and continued to shift in before the Red Marker. App.Prasad has been reprimanded.

Near 800 metres, INTEQUAM (Amyn Merchant) shied away due to HEAVENLY PRIZE (Vikram Jodha) and shifted in on to FAIRY QUEEN (Kavraj Singh), who went in on to ENCORE (App.Tushar Nemane), who in turn tightened FAST AND FURIOUS (A.Sandesh). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.

Near 1000 metres, BAT YAM (Dashrath Singh) clipped the hind heels of PRIZE FIGHTER (S.Sunil).

BAT YAM (Dashrath Singh) hung out in the straight. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

After the race, RED TABASCO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that INTEQUAM was examined at the stables on 16/04/2012 and found to be sound, but having partial corneal opacity of left eye. BAT YAM was found to be sound.

RACE NO.5 (351) – THE BAHRAIN TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 12

At the start, AISLESAY (A.M.Tograllu) jumped out throwing its head and was slow to begin.

At the Start, WINDMILL LADY (J.Pradeep, dr.7) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time LIGHTENING THUNDER (Nirmal Jodha, dr.9) jumped awkwardly inwards and converged on MAXIMUS (D.K.Ashish, dr.8).

Due to a tightly packed field, WINDMILL LADY (J.Pradeep) shifted ground inwards near 1000 metres and tightened FRANCOIS (P.Trevor).

Passing the 1000 metres, AISLESAY (A.M.Tograllu) shifted in bumping ACT OF WAR (A.Sandesh) inwards, which eased to avoid the heels of WIND CHIME (V.Phadke).

After the race, WIND CHIME was found to be sore by the right fore leg and AISLESAY (examined at the stables on 16/04/2012) was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that TAJ E SHAHI was examined at the stables on 16/04/2012 and was found to be sound.

RACE NO.6 (352) – THE MAHARAJA SIR HARISINGHJI TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 6

RANTHAMBHORE (C.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the final 200 metres and in the final stages shifted in and caused BERLUSCONI (S.Zervan) to shift in, who tightened DEAR HENRY (C.Ruzaan). Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, DEAR HENRY was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern. STAR TRAINER and ONASSIS were found to be sound.

RACE NO.7 (353) – THE A.GEDDIS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7

Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi (ROESTI) reported that he found his mount uncomfortable during the race. The Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.

Trainer H.J.Antia lodged a complaint against the riding of Jockey A.Sandesh on STAR EMPIRE. An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of STAR EMPIRE and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, STAR EMPIRE, ROSE BOWL and ROESTI were found to be sound.

RACE NO.8 (354) – THE GIRL FROM IPANEMA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres–Runners – 13

BE COOL was withdrawn on compassionate grounds.

After the race, ROSE HEAVEN was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2^nd, 6^th and 8^th race, viz. RODEO, RANTHAMBHORE and MOONSCAPE as also that of BERLUSCONI & ONASSIS (6^th race) and the special sample of KRYPTON (2^nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
