RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS  WERE PLACED 8 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE  CHUTE)  TO 1200 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer N.B.Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Bezan Chenoy to saddle her charge ENCORE in the 2nd race, at her (Trainer N.B.Chenoy‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (264) – THE WAVE OF BLISS PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 8

 

Jockey T.S.Jodha (ONLY WHITE) has been cautioned for failing to continue making an effort till past the Post.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of ONLY WHITE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, MUSICAL RHAPSODY was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ARABIAN ROCK was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.2 (265)  – THE  P.A.d’AVOINE TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9

 

At the start, STAR GLORY (Hanumant Singh, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and caused GIBRAN (T.S.Jodha, dr.2) to shift out on to SEVEN SEAS (Nirmal Jodha, dr.3).

 

LAZOR RAZOR (P.Trevor) lugged out in the straight. Veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was sore by the right fore leg. As such no further action has been initiated in the matter. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey T.S.Jodha (GIBRAN) reported that his mount lugged in during the race. Trainer Anil Kumar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Nirmal Jodha (SEVEN SEAS) has been reprimanded for exulting before passing the Post.

 

After the race, GIBRAN was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (266) – THE WAVE OF BLISS PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1600 Metres - Runners – 9

 

ATHOS (Dashrath Singh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ATHOS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (267)  – THE SECRET TREASURE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres - Runners – 7

 

Soon after the start, CAPITANO (P.Trevor) commenced to lug in and approaching 800 metres, further shifted in and tightened RULE FOREVER (Dashrath Singh), who in turn hampered the running of MOUNTAIN MYNAH (M.A.Roushan). Thereafter, CAPITANO again shifted in near 400 metres and hampered the running of MOUNTAIN MYNAH. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

MOUNTAIN MYNAH (M.A.Roushan) had to be continuously ridden outwards to obtain a clear run in the straight. While accepting the explanation, Jockey M.A.Roushan has been cautioned for not sufficiently controlling the outward movement of his mount.

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (OUR CHIEFTAIN) has been cautioned for shifting ground inwards in the straight.

 

After the race, MOUNTAIN MYNAH was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TALK OF THE TOWN, OUR CHIEFTAIN and CAPITANO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (268) – THE GOLD STAR PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

 

Jockey P.Trevor was declared to ride two horses in this race viz. EYE OF THE STORM and STAYING ALIVE (late SPOOK) by Trainers Narendra Lagad and Imtiaz A.Sait respectively. On questioning, it was revealed that Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait had engaged Jockey P.Trevor to ride SPOOK and the Jockey had confirmed the ride but after the Acceptance the Jockey did not find SPOOK in the Acceptances and was under the impression that SPOOK was not running and hence he had accepted to ride EYE OF THE STORM, which led to the Jockey being declared on two horses in the same race.   As such, Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait was permitted to declare Jockey P.Trevor on STAYING ALIVE and Trainer Narendra Lagad declared Jockey Srikant Kamble on EYE OF THE STORM.

 

After the race, FLYING KISS, STAR TREASURE and EYE OF THE STORM (examined on 16/03/2012) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (269)  – THE P.A.d’AVOINE TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

 

At the start, SPIRIT OF ECSTACY (S.Zervan, dr.4) jumped out awkwardly and in turn went on to LAURUS PRIDE (T. S. Jodha, dr.3).

 

Approaching 200 metres, PRIZE FIGHTER (A.J.Nilesh) shifted out as the Jockey used the whip once and carried STAR ZONE (V.Phadke) outwards, who in turn forced LAURUS PRIDE (T.S.Jodha) outwards.

 

Jockey Shammi Khan (ZARACHA) has been fined Rs.1000/- for wearing an unapproved Safety Vest.

 

After the race, ZARACHA and PRIZE FIGHTER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7 (270) – THE RUNNING STAR PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres–Runners–  10

 

Soon after the start, SPINAWIN (C.S.Jodha, dr.10) shifted inwards before the Red Marker and near 1000 metres shifted in further and tightened DEFINING MOMENT (A.M.Tograllu), who in turn hampered the running of BOURBON STREET (Malcolm Kharadi). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.3000/-

 

Near 700 metres, KIMBERLEY EMERALD (A.Sandesh) was in discomfort and dropped out of the race and while doing so hampered the running of QUANDO QUANDO (Altaf Sayyed). Shortly, thereafter KIMBERLEY EMERALD stopped galloping. On examination, by the Club’s V.O., the colt was found to have suffered fracture of sesamoids of left fore fetlock.  After consent of the trainer, the horse was euthanized on humane grounds.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Y.S.Srinath, rider of ECLIPSED (placed second), against PIANO MAN (P.Trevor, placed first). The reason being, PIANO MAN shifted in and took his ground between the 200 and 150 metres whereby he had to stop riding and change course which cost him vital time and therefore cost him the race, the verdict being neck.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection and forfeit the deposit.

 

Jockey P.Trevor (PIANO MAN) has been severely reprimanded for easing up his mount in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, QUANDO QUANDO was observed to have lost her right fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.8 (271) – THE MATHRADAS GOCULDAS TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 8

 

At the start, DESERT RULE (N.S.Parmar, dr.2) jumped out throwing its head up and made contact with CLARION CALL (C.Rajendra, dr.3).

 

Soon after the start, LYRICAL SYMPHONY (S.Zervan) shifted in due to which STROMBOLI (P.Trevor) was tightened for room and dropped back. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned.

 

Soon on straightening for home, RANTHAMBHORE (C.S.Jodha) shifted out to progress in the race and in the process caused SU CHALIYO (Suraj Narredu) to travel wide. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Passing 200 metres, STROMBOLI (P.Trevor) shifted out and caused LYRICAL SYMPHONY (S.Zervan) to shift out, who was awkwardly placed behind the heels of SU CHALIYO (Suraj Narredu) who also had shifted in at that stage, and steadied.

 

RANTHAMBHORE (C.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, CLARION CALL was observed to have a cut injury at the left hock and STROMBOLI had a cut injury at both hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.9 (272) – THE RUNNING STAR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10

 

At the start, CORNELIAN (S.Sunil, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to BURGUNDY ROSE (S.Zervan, dr.4) who shifted out and caused AMIKA (Dashrath Singh, dr.5) to shift out, who while being steadied, went across SCONE (A.M.Tograllu, dr.6).

GATES OF HEAVEN (C.S.Jodha) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Near 1000 metres, BURGUNDY ROSE (S.Zervan) shifted in and hampered the running of CORNELIAN (S.Sunil).

 

Passing 1000 metres, MIGHTY SPLENDOR (T.S.Jodha) shifted in and tightened CORNELIAN (S.Sunil) who in turn tightened MACHO MAN (R.K.Mahesh). Jockey T.S.Jodha has been cautioned.

 

Near 100 metres, BURGUNDY ROSE (S.Zervan) shifted out and made contact with MIGHTY SPLENDOR (T.S.Jodha). Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned. 

 

After the race, WINDS OF CHANGE, GATES OF HEAVEN and MIGHTY SPLENDOR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10 (273) – THE D.W.REID PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 12

 

At the Start, RAN BANKA (V.Chandrakant, dr.9) jumped awkwardly inwards and caused a chain reaction, in which RED TABASCO (D.K.Ashish, dr.8) and STUNNING THUNDER (Vikram Jodha, dr.7)  received interference and in the process STUNNING THUNDER went in on to GOLDEN MEMORY (S.Zervan, dr.6) who went on to PTOLEMY (T.S.Jodha, dr.5).

 

Near 700 metres, BANANA BOY (App.Tushar Nemane) shifted out and carried RED TABASCO (D.K.Ashish) outwards. While straightening for home, BANANA BOY again shifted out and hampered the running of RED TABASCO. App.Tushar Namane has been cautioned.

 

After the race, GOLDEN MEMORY and ROGER BCOOL were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2nd, 6th, 7th and 10th  race, viz. SEVEN SEAS, FARAMARZ, PIANO MAN and DISTANT PROMISE, were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
