ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “NEBULA” (DRAWN 9) IN RACE NO.126 – THE POONAWALLA BREEDERS’ MULTI MILLION  (GR.1) (DIST. 1400 MTRS.) RUN ON 22ND FEBRUARY 2026:

In this connection, the Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 15th March 2026, having heard Trainer Behram Cama and Jockey Neeraj Rawal, and having watched Race No.126 as also the filly’s earlier starts i.e. race nos. 25, 63, and 95 Mumbai 2025/26, wherein it was observed that the filly had clearly demonstrated that she can race comfortably with the pace. Hence, the Stewards were not satisfied with explanation tendered by Jockey Neeraj Rawal. In that it was held that he kept the filly at the back end of the field and allowed her to fall too far behind, thereby placing her at a disadvantage. Despite which, the filly covered a lot of ground in the final stretch.

Keeping in mind riding caliber of Jockey Neeraj Rawal, greater judgement and effort was expected from him. Therefore, the Stewards of the Club held Jockey Neeraj Rawal guilty of riding an injudicious race and decided to suspend his Jockey’s licence for two race days i.e. on 30th March 2026 and first race day of the Pune Meeting 2026, dates of which will be intimated in due course (permitted to ride work/mock race).

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “SHIRSA” (DRAWN 6) IN RACE NO.136 – THE J. V. SHUKLA – ASHWAMITRA PLATE (DIST. 1400 MTRS.) RUN ON 26TH FEBRUARY 2026:

In this connection, the Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 15th March 2026, having heard Jockey S. G. Prasad and Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi, having viewed the video of race no.136 and the previous races of the mare i.e. race no.81 & the winning races of the mare i.e. race nos.143 & 180, run during the Mumbai Meeting 2024/25 the Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey S. G. Prasad. In that, it was observed that he did not ride the mare in her usual winning pattern especially since he had ridden her on both occasions. Instead, Jockey S.G Prasad positioned her at the back of the field. Further, upon entering the straight, his efforts in the early part were found wanting and his statement that the mare was one-paced was also found to be incorrect, as she made up considerable ground in the final stages. As such his overall riding effort was found to be inconsistent throughout the race.

Therefore, keeping in mind the mare’s past performances and his previous rides on her, the Stewards found his riding in this race unacceptable, held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding and decided to suspend his Jockey’s Licence for eight race days, commencing from 30th March 2026. Thereafter, if he applies for a licence for the Racing Season 2026/27, the same may be granted to him; however, it shall remain suspended for the first seven days of the Pune Meeting 2026, the dates of which will be communicated in due course. (permitted to ride in track work and mock race).

Further, after hearing the contentions made by Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi and keeping in mind all the circumstances of the matter including his submissions. The concerned Trainer was cautioned for his tacit approval in this matter
