RACE DAY REPORTS

RACE NO.1 - THE SEASON’S BEST PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres, Runners – 6
On questioning, App.A.Sandesh (SOLAR ANGEL) stated that he had guided his mount outwards to make his move at the top of the straight as those were his instructions. He further stated that thereafter his mount lugged out in the straight. Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Jockey H.G.Rathod (ARISEN STAR) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ANEMOS was found to be sound
RACE NO.2 - THE STARYNSKY PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres, Runners - 7
At the start, GLAMOROUS (Dashrath Singh) was steadied as the filly took an awkward jump and lost ground.
CONSTANTINA (S.Zervan) lugged out in the final stages of the race. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, WILNA was observed to have an abrasion at the right fore bulb of heel. CHINGARI & CONSTANTINA were found to be sound.
RACE NO.3 – THE SIR JAMSETJEE JEEJEEBHOY (VI BART) TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres - Runners - 4
At the request of Trainer Nirad Karanjawala, BERGHOF was examined on 12/11/2010 and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds since the horse had injured himself while being loaded to travel to Mumbai and was treated. Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the horse from the Club’s Sr.V.O before next accepting to race.
At about 100 metres, SNOW BLAZE (C.D.Hayes) suddenly ducked out and drifted outwards. The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.
The Stewards after the last race, having viewed the video recording of the above race, directed the Stipendiary Stewards to inform Trainer Dallas Todywalla to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt and to further inform him that should this horse exhibit similar behavior in a race in the future, he would be banned from racing.
After the race, SNOW BLAZE was found to be sound, having wolf tooth on either side of the mouth.
RACE NO.4 – THE SCORPIO PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres, Runners - 4
At the start, AMBEROGIO (App Kavraj Singh) knuckled under and was slowly off.
Soon after the start, AMBEROGIO (App.Kavraj Singh) shifted in and went across BEAUTIFUL STRANGER (T.S.Jodha) and LAGO MEDIO (S.Sunil) and later inconvenienced BULLET (Dashrath Singh) on its inside. App.Kavraj Singh has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
After the race, BULLET was found to be sound.
RACE NO.5 – THE ACE RULER PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres, Runners - 9
At the start, BLUSH (H.G.Rathod) jumped out awkwardly and while trying to control his mount, shifted in and went on to TYSEA (Ishwar Pardeshi), who in turn made contact with OCEAN QUEEN (T.Mahesh). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated against anyone.
At the start, ROYALTY (S.Sunil) jumped out awkwardly, throwing its head and was slow to begin as the Rider tried to control his mount.
Near 1000 metres, ROYALTY (S.Sunil) was hampered for a run when OCEAN QUEEN (T.Mahesh) shifted in. Jockey T.Mahesh has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Jockey S.Sunil (ROYALTY) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
The surcingle on RED TABASCO (Dashrath Singh) broke during the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.1000/-.
After the race, ROYALTY was found to be sound, having an abrasion at both hind fetlock and a gum injury. RED TABASCO was found to be sound.
RACE NO.6 – THE MATHRADAS GOCULDAS TROPHY : (About) 1400 Metres, Runners - 5
At the request of Trainer C.D.Katrak, SEA STAR was examined at 0940 hours on 14/11/2010 and was found to have swelling on the left fore knee and fetlock due to injury, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the horse from the Club’s Sr.V.O before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.7 – THE MAHARAJA OF MORVI TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres - Runners - 5
Trainer Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting his charge ROYAL HIGHNESS in two races on the same day. The filly was scratched from a Handicap race and allowed to run in this race.
OCEAN STAR (App.P.Trevor) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head and whipped around, due to which the Rider got dislodged. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
On questioning, Jockey Malcolm Kharadi (SUNSET BOULEVARD) stated that he was asked to follow CIEL INDIENNE (C.D.Hayes) and wait as long as he could before making his move in the straight which was confirmed by Trainer P.Shroff. Jockey Malcolm Kharadi added that he started brushing up his mount from about 300 metres and rode out. The explanation was noted.
After the race, OCEAN STAR was found to be sound.
RACE NO.8 – THE MY DESIRE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres, Runners - 9
SCARLETTE (C.D.Hayes) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, SCARLETTE was found to be sound.
RACE NO.9 - THE ACE RULER PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres, Runners - 10
PRINCE OF TROY (Dashrath Singh) and THE RIGHT MAN (Ishwar Pardeshi) lost 2 lengths each at the start.
Passing 1000 metres, CARIBBEAN QUEEN (S.Zervan) shifted in and caused severe interference to PROUD STAR (S.S.Baria). The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.
The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey S.Zervan and having heard him and viewing the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered. However, keeping in mind that Jockey S.Zervan had admitted his mistake and apologized for the same the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.5000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount. Further, he was warned for the future.
Near 500 metres, STARRY OCEAN (Suraj Narredu) shifted in and tightened THEIR LIL SISTER (T.S.Jodha) who in turn went on to PRINCE OF TROY (Dashrath Singh). Jockey Suraj Narredu has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

RE : APPEAL FROM JOCKEY D.K.ASHISH IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 14/11/2010 TO 21/11/2010 FOR CARELESS RIDING ON ‘RIVER GEM” IN RACE NO..224 – THE CLASSIC ROCK PLATE RUN ON SUNDAY, 17TH OCTOBER, 2010 :
The Board of Appeal at its Meeting held on 29th October, 2010 considered appeal dated 20th October, 2010 from Jockey D.K.Ashish and interviewed him and his Spokesman Mr.S.Kapoor. The Board of Appeal having studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Grounds of Appeal and having heard the submissions made by Jockey D.K.Ashish and his spokesman and having viewed the relevant portion of the race in question several times in normal as well as in slow motion and having deliberated on the mater at length and having applied their minds, decided to reject his appeal and forfeit the deposit. Accordingly, the decision of the Stewards of the Club stands. Further, Jockey D.K.,Ashish was warned to be more careful in the future.
