RACE DAY REPORTS

THERE WERE NO FALSE RAILS

 

On a request from Trainer Nosher Cama, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charges CARPE DIEM and COGITO ERGO SUM in the 2nd & 6th race respectively, at his (Trainer Nosher Cama’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer P.Shroff, permission was granted to his Assistant Trainer Vishal Gaikwad, to saddle his charges ROSWALD and ARCHIMEDES in the 6th & 10th race respectively, at his (Trainer P.Shroff’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Bezan Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Nazak Chenoy to saddle his charge ACT OF WAR in the 9th race, at his (Trainer Bezan Chenoy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(138) – THE CAPITULATE PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the start, TUSCANIA (Akshay, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to ST BARTZ (D.S.Rathore, dr.2) and at the same time STORM LIGHTNING (C.S.Jodha, dr.3) also jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with ST BARTZ.

 

POLAR ZONE (A.Ashhad Asbar) shifted inwards before the Red Marker, as such, Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar has been cautioned.

 

Traveling some distance from the start, VAILE ROUGE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in jostled with SPEED BABY (S.P.Ranjane). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

Near 900 metres, ST BARTZ (D.S.Rathore) leaned inwards as the gelding was being settled and interfered with POLAR ZONE (A.Ashhad Asbar), who lost position.

 

After the race, PEPE SENIOR was observed to have lost its left hind plate. PRETTY IN PATPONG and POLAR ZONE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(139) – THE E d’AVOINE TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners

 

After the race, ASHWA YODHAA and VIVA ZAPATA were found to be sound. ASHWA YODHAA had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.3(140) – THE GLENSANDA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

                                      

An objection was lodged by Jockey Malcolm Kharadi, rider of STARSONBOARD (Placed Second) against INVINCIBLE (R.Vaibhav, Placed First). The reason being, on entering the straight INVINCIBLE started to come on to him and squeezed him for room and then bumped him two to three times, due to which his filly lost her stride and did not gallop and this cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey R.Vaibhav (INVINCIBLE) for careless riding on his mount and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 29th September, 2013 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Near 800 metres, CEASARINA (J.Chinoy) was inconvenienced and steadied as INTESAR (App.Prasad) shifted in. App.Prasad has been cautioned.

 

Near 700 metres, CEASARINA (J.Chinoy) was inconvenienced as NATIONAL PRIDE (Ishwar Pardeshi) shifted in. Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been cautioned.

 

Jockey J.E.Pereira (BALINGA) reported that his mount lugged in during the race and ran green. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, INVINCIBLE and BALINGA were observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern, BE POSITIVE had a cut injury at the left fore cannon and NATIONAL PRIDE had a cut injury above the right commissure of mouth.  INTESAR was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(141) – THE FOURTH ESTATE TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey P.Trevor,  rider of  SANTA BARBARA (Placed Third) against SUPERLICIOUS (Neeraj Rawal,, Placed Second). The reason being, at about 200 metres his filly started moving when SUPERLICIOUS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out, due to which he had to check his mount and stop riding, which cost him a certain second place.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

 

At the start, CAPILANO (N.S.Parmar, dr.4) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to KALDENO (D.A.Naik, dr.3), who went on to SUPERLICIOUS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2).

 

Jockey R.Vaibhav (UMARKOT) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of the whip near 200 metres and in the process forcing SUPERLICIOUS (Neeraj Rawal) to shift out.

 

SKYWALK (S.Sunil) lugged out while negotiating the bend. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that SKYWALK was found to be sound but having wolf tooth on the left side.  Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, STEADFAST was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CAPILANO, UMARKOT and SUPERLICIOUS were found to be sound. HEATWAVE was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel and UMARKOT had a cut injury at the left hind pastern and fetlock.

 

RACE NO.5(142)  – THE PEGASUS TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

After the race, BURGUNDY ROSE, WIND CHIME, ALLEGIANCE and JENS SECRET were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(143) – THE  AMARILO PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 6 Runners

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (CAPITAL ATTRACTION) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. Further, he has been fined Rs.1,000/- for Improper use on the whip, wherein he has used on the shoulder of his mount in a forehand position.

 

RACE NO.7(144) – THE  GLENSANDA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, a Stewards Enquiry was held in this race. The reason being, at about 250 metres DARK KNIGHT (Dashrath Singh, Placed Second) shifted in and took the ground of WARRIOR PRINCE (S.P.Ranjane, Placed Third) and interfered with the latter wherein Jockey S.P.Ranjane had to check his mount and got unbalanced and dropped back.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to maintain the order of placing as declared by the Judge.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey Dashrath Singh (DARK KNIGHT) for careless riding on his mount and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 29th September, 2013 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

At the start, BEAU ROYALE (V.Chandrakant, dr.10) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to ICE ICE BABY (D.S.Rathore, dr.9) who in turn went on to PUNE WARRIORS (Akash Agarwal, dr.8) who had also jumped awkwardly and was jostled with.

 

At the start, DARK KNIGHT (Dashrath Singh, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to BLIND DATE (C.S.Jodha, dr.4) who went on to NEVADA (App.S.Mosin, dr.5). 

 

At the start, NEVADA (App.S.Mosin) shifted out with the Rider making no effort to control the  outward movement of his mount and carried RASHUN (T.S.Jodha) and  ICE ICE BABY (D.S.Rathore) outwards and in the process, the  latter jostled with BEAU ROYALE (V.Chandrakant). App.S.Mosin has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, BLIND DATE was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind fetlock. PUNE WARRIORS, ICE ICE BABY, RASHUN and DARK KNIGHT were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(145) – THE  FOURTH ESTATE TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

At the start, ZAAGROS (Shrikant Kamble, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and at the same time CLASSY DANCER (D.K.Ashish, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards, as a result JEVELIN (Dashrath Singh, dr.3) and AFFIRMATION (N.S.Parmar, dr.4) were tightened.  

 

Soon after the start, JAVELIN (Dashrath Singh) lugged in and inconvenienced CLASSY DANCER (D.K.Ashish) who in turn inconvenienced UNIVERSAL JOY (I.Pasha). Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, AFFIRMATION was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel. AVENTADOR had an abrasion at the left hock and JAVELIN had a cut injury at the right fore fetlock.

 

RACE NO.9(146) – THE  ALAMEDA PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

Near 1000 metres, SONG OF SPARROW (App.S.Mosin) stumbled on its own.

 

Near 250 metres, ICE AFFAIR (S.P.Ranjane) shifted in and caused interference to GATES OF HEAVEN (A.Sandesh). The matter was reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Jockey S.P.Ranjane and having heard him and viewing the video recording of the race were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.5,000/- and to severely caution him for the future.

 

After the race, SONG OF SPARROW  was found to be sound, but having a gum injury. GATES OF HEAVEN had  a cut injury at the left fore cannon.  ASTROMIA and SNOW ANGEL were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10(147) – THE  PEGASUS TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

App B.Nikhil (SHEER ROMANCE) reported that his mount lugged in throughout the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Approaching 200 metres, SHEER ROMANCE (App.B.Nikhil) was inconvenienced as MOUNTAIN QUEEN (S.P.Ranjane) shifted inwards. Jockey S.P.Ranjane has been cautioned. 

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that SHIVALIK PRIDE stumbled during the race and was pulled up by the Jockey near 200 metres marker. On examination, the gelding was found to have swelling at the right shoulder and at the right fore fetlock and was sore from the right fore leg. First Aid treatment was given and the gelding was sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance. Subsequently, the Equine Hospital reported that the horse had suffered fracture of the right scapula bone and hence was euthanized on humane grounds at the request of the trainer.

 

After the race, SHEER ROMANCE and EYE OF THE TIGER were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 9th race, viz. PEPE SENIOR, INVINCIBLE, ORIENTAL ROCKY and ULTRASONIC, and the special sample of INTESAR (3rd race) and STEADFAST (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
