RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1800 METRES TO 1200 METRES, 2 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES THEREAFTER 4 METRES WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
RACE NO.1(31) – THE SENTOSA COVE PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
LION KING (P. Vinod, dr.10) refused to stall despite substantial efforts as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 1000 metres, RED DUST (S. Saqlain) shifted out and went across BETWEEN FRIENDS (App. Haridas Gore) who had to be steadied. Jockey S. Saqlain has been cautioned.
After the race, WALSHY was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.
After the race, SPIRITUAL ROCK was trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that TOUSSAINT was found to have sore – right eye.
RACE NO.2(32) – THE STARRY BROOK PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9
At the request of Trainer S. K. Sunderji, UGLY TRUTH was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the stable area at 10:05 am on 13/08/2023 and was found to sore by right fore, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
On the arrival at the start, SCRAMANGA (T. S. Jodha) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.
After being stalled, NORTHERN SINGER (J. Chinoy, dr.3) was not allowing its rider to settle. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, QUEENS PRIDE (Gagandeep Maan, dr.9) jumped inwards and made contact with SCARMANGA (T. S. Jodha, dr.8).
Approaching the 600 metres, HELA (Bhawani Singh) racing on the haunches of the HILMA KLINT (A. K. Aniket) had to be steadied.
The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the riding of QUEENS PRIDE (Gagandeep Maan) and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, NORTHERN SINGER was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
After the race, HILMA KLINT was trotted and found to be sound.
After the race, QUEENS PRIDE was found to have abrasion on left fore fetlock.
The Equine Hospital reported that MOJO was found to have sore – right eye.
The Equine Hospital reported that NORTHERN SINGER was found to have ulcer – right eye.
The Equine Hospital reported that HILMA KLINT was found to have sore – left eye and ulcer – right eye.
RACE NO.3(33) – THE THANDA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
At the start, RISING POWER (K. Nazil, dr.6) shifted in at the same time DASHMER DANCER (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.4) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and inconveniencing RISING POWER due to which LA BELLE (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.5) who was marginally slow to begin had to be checked thereafter passing the 900 metres DASHMESH DANCER further shifted out thereby taking the ground of DRAGON WINGS (A. K. Aniket) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning, Jockey Vishal N. Bunde has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 900 metres, RISING POWER (K. Nazil) shifted out and carried AXIS (J. Chinoy) outwards. After the race, Jockey K. Nazil reported that his mount was running erratic.
Approaching the 800 metres, DRAGON WINGS (A. K. Aniket) was running green and in the process brushed the rails.
Passing the 800 metres TICANTO (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted in under urgings and went across MALET SPRING (Shrikant Kamble) and SCHNELL (H. M. Akshay) due to which the latter had to be checked. After questioning, App. Mustakim Alam has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 300 metres, LA BELLE (App. Kirtish Bhagat) shifted out and carried MALET SPRING (Shrikant Kamble) outwards. App. Kirtish Bhagat has been cautioned.
After the race, RISING POWER & LA BELLE were trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that PURE FOR SURE was found to have sore – both eyes.
The Equine Hospital reported that AXIS was found to have ulcer – left eye.
RACE NO.4(34) – THE TIMELESS PLATE - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES –RUNNERS- 10
At the start, ATTAINED (P. Trevor, dr.5) jumped outwards at the same time FANCY NANCY (App. Haridas Gore, dr.6) leaned inwards and they made contact.
Passing the 1000 metres INDIA STRONG (N. S. Parmar) shifted in thereby tightening LUMINOSITY (P. S. Kaviraj) who had to check and drop back. After questioning, N. S. Parmar has been cautioned.
Passing the 100 metres, WALTER (S. A. Amit) leaned onto to ENABLER (Yash Narredu) thereafter the latter shifted out under urgings thereby forcing a passage which resulted in bumping and unbalancing WALTER. After questioning, Jockey Yash Narredu has been suspended for two race days i.e. on 2nd & 9th September 2023 (permitted to ride work/mock race) for dangerous riding.
The Equine Hospital reported that FANCY NANCY was found to have ulcer – left eye.
RACE NO.5(35) – THE HIGHLAND RULE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8
At the start, MOZELLE (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.6) jumped outwards and made contact with THE PROTECTOR (S. Saqlain, dr.7) who in turn shifted out and went across FAST RAIN (N. S. Parmar, dr.8) who was marginally slow to begin.
Passing the 300 metres, THE SOVEREIGN ORB (P. Trevor) was held up for room and had to change course.
In the final stages of the race, FAST RAIN (N. S. Parmar) shifted in thereby tightening THE SOVEREIGN ORB (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied. After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar reported that his mount hung-in, despite his efforts. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
The Equine Hospital reported that BABY BAZOOKA was found to have sore – left eye.
RACE NO.6(36) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 14
After being stalled, STOLE MY HEART (Neeraj Rawal, dr.11) tried to duck the front gates momentarily. As such the filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, NASHVEGAS (Shrikant Kamble, dr.2) jumped inwards and went across BALIUS WARRIOR (A. S. Peter, dr.1) who had to be steadied.
Approaching the 1400 metres, CAPITOLIUM (C. Umesh) shifted in and went across GLORIOUS KING (Yash Narredu) who had to be steadied at the same time FLOYD (T. S. Jodha) shifted in due to which CAPUCINE (P. Trevor) shied inwards thereby tightening NASHVEGAS (Shrikant Kamble), EXUMA (N. S. Parmar) and PRECIOUS GREY (Antony Raj S.), resulting in the latter brushing the rails and dropping back due to which EXUMA (N. S. Parmar), EL GRECO (P. S. Chouhan), BUGATTI (App. Kirtish Bhagat) and WILD HAMMER (J. Chinoy) were also inconvenienced. After questioning all concerned, Jockey T. S. Jodha has been fined Rs.3,000/-.
Passing the 500 metres, EXUMA (N. S. Parmar) racing on the haunches of CAPUCINE (P. Trevor) and NASHVEGAS (Shrikant Kamble) was held up for room and had to be steadied.
After the race, PRECIOUS GREY was trotted and found to be sound but was found to have abrasion on right hind coronet.
After the race, STOLE MY HEART was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.
The Equine Hospital reported that BUGATTI was found to have sore – right eye and ulcer.
The Equine Hospital reported that YAWAR was found to have ulcer – right eye.
The Equine Hospital reported that CAPUPCINE was found to have sore – right eye.
RACE NO.7(37) – THE TIMELESS PLATE - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 11
At the start, CIPHER (A. K. Aniket, dr.11) jumped inwards and made contact with SUPERIMPOSE (Dashrath Singh, dr.10) who in turn shifted in and bumped CHENEVIX TRENCH (Neeraj Rawal).
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (CHENEVIX TRENCH) reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, LIAM, LORD FENICIA & TYRONE BLACK were trotted and found to be sound.
The Equine Hospital reported that TYRONE BLACK was found to have sore – both eye.
The Equine Hospital reported that SUPERIMPOSE was found to have sore – left eye.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd & 4th race, viz. MAYSARA & ENABLER, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
