RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Shyam S Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P Shroff to saddle his charge CLINTON in the 4th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(193)  – THE  AHU PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10

 

Jockeys C.S.Jodha (TOWERING HIGH, dr.6) and Vikram Jodha (ARABIAN FLIGHT, dr.9) have been fined Rs.1,000/- each, for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Passing 400 metres, HIGHWAY EXPRESS (Shrikant Kamble) shifted ground outwards, due to which ARABIAN FLIGHT (Vikram Jodha) shifted out and carried MONARCHOS (T.S.Jodha) outwards.

 

Near 200 metres, TOWERING HIGH (C.S.Jodha) was inconvenienced as MINUTE TO WIN IT (App.Prabhu Naidu) shifted ground inwards. App.Prabhu Naidu has been cautioned.

 

App.Vikash Tamang (NEPTUNE) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, ENLIGHTENING was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Also, the gelding had an abrasion at both fore fetlock and right hind fetlock. The gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MINUTE TO WIN IT, ARABIAN FLIGHT and MONARCHOS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(194)  – THE  GREAT INVESTMENT PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 4

 

After the race, LIVING THE DREAM was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(195) – THE BLUE HORIZON PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11

 

ADAM’S WONDER (App.S.Mosin) lost about a length at the start.

 

Trainer Nina M.Lalvani has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not obtaining permission to use bandages on her charge ADAM’S WONDER.

 

Approaching 800 metres, STRATEGY (App.Sandeep Jadhav) shifted in and caused interference to HAY DAY (S.Sameer). App.Sandeep Jadhav has been fined Rs.3000/-.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, CASTLETROY (Malcolm Kharadi) became unbalanced while racing on the inside of SPEED BABY (S.P.Ranjane) who shifted in at that stage. Jockey S.P.Ranjane has been cautioned.

 

After the race, ADAM’S WONDER and ICE SKATER were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STRATEGY was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(196) –THE VALENTINE’S DAY TROPHY:(About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9

 

INCOGNITO (C.Rajendra) stumbled at the start.

 

Near 100 metres, CLINTON (S.Zervan) lugged in for a few strides due to which DICTATOR (Daniel M.Grant) shifted in on to SNOW BLAZE (Martin Dwyer), who in turn went on to ILLUSTRIOUS (C.S.Jodha) who was inconvenienced.

 

After the race, INCOGNITO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(197) – THE  EMPERADO PLATE:(About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 9

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that on the way to the starting gates,  CAVALRYMAN suffered a cut injury at the left fore arm, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary ground, before coming under the Starter’s Order. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O., before next accepting with him to race.

 

ROMANTIC BEAUTY (Martin Dwyer) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey S.Zervan (IMPRESSIVE TOUCH) reported that his mount ran erratic during the race and that she hung out in the early part of the race and thereafter she hung in from the 600 metres . Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.             

 

After the race, BLUE SWALLOW and IMPRESSIVE TOUCH were found to be sound. BLUE SWALLOW had a cut injury at the left stifle and MONEY FOR NOTHIN had an abrasion at the right hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.6(198) – THE  MOSAIC PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13

 

At the start, PURPLE MOON (Akshay, dr.8) jumped awkwardly outwards and carried MISCHEVIOUS Z (J.Chinoy, dr.9) outwards.

 

DESERT EAGLE (Ishwar Pardeshi) shifted in and near 200 metres, hampered the running of PURPLE MOON (Akshay). Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient effort to control the inward movement of his mount.  

 

After the race, NANINA,  RIO DEL RAY and ARABIAN CHIEF were found to be sound. NANINA had an abrasion at the right hind pastern and KALINGA STAR had an abrasion at the left hind tendon.

 

RACE NO.7(199) – THE A F S TALYARKHAN TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (REWARDING DESIRE, dr.7) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

GHANGHORR ((Martin Dwyer) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, PORTO BANUS and FABULOUS FLORENCE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(200) – THE BLUE HORIZON PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12

 

COLOURS FLYING (S.Zervan) was restless in the stall and leaned on to the rear gates. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, PRETTY IN PATPONG (S.P.Ranjane, dr.9) lost its footing and began awkwardly and shifted outwards, making contact with MENAGE A TROIS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.10).

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (QUANDO QUANDO) reported that he lost his right rein near 100 metres which he regained shortly.  

 

App.S.Mosin (EROTIC FLAME) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift in near 150 metres and in the process carried ICE EMPIRE (App.Prabhu Naidu) inwards.

 

After the race, PLATED was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, COLOURS FLYING, QUANDO QUANDO, MANYARA, PRETTY IN PATPONG and EROTIC FLAME (examined on 15/02/2013) were found to be sound.  ICE EMPIRE had a gum injury.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th race, viz. HIGHWAY EXPRESS, NATIONAL IKON, REWARDING DESIRE and STORMY WIND, and the special sample of ADAM’S WONDER & ICE SKATER (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
