RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(125) – THE GENERAL OBAIDULLAH KHAN TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 3 

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (BOLD APPEAL) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, BOLD APPEAL was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(126) – THE RAJPIPLA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 4

 

REMEMBER ME (Neeraj Rawal) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, REMEMBER ME was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(127)  – THE AVANTAGE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 8

 

FINEST MOMENT (App. Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Karthik G. has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 350 metres, IMPERIAL HERITAGE (App. Yash Narredu) was observed to have leaned inwards.

 

In the last 50 metres, FRANZ FERDINAND (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out on to RICARDUS (R. Vaibhav).

 

In the final stages of the race, STAR COUNCILLOR (A. Sandesh) shifted in, due to which SAN MARTINO (P. Trevor) shied inwards thereby tightening GOOD THING (Dashrath Singh) along the rails.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (STAR COUNCILLOR) reported that his mount was running green.

 

After the race, GOOD THING was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. RICARDUS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(128) – THE MOONLIGHT ROMANCE DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  6

 

At the start, PERSONIFY (A. Sandesh dr. 6) was observed to have shifted outwards.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (MULTIGLORY) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, SAMBA WARRIOR, MULTIGLORY, PERSONIFY and SOLANGE (examined on 15/01/2016) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(129) – THE INDIAN AIR FORCE CUP: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13

 

There was a dual declaration of Jockey Dashrath Singh by Trainer Altaf Hussain on CLOUDS OF GLORY and by Trainer Narendra Lagad on PHOENIX CAT. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declaring Jockey Dashrath Singh on his charge CLOUDS OF GLORY without his consent. Subsequently, he was permitted to declare Jockey C. S. Jodha.

 

FINAL ENCOUNTER (P. Trevor) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start, MAGNUM OPUS (App. Bhawani Singh, dr.5) jumped out inwards and made contact with MONZA (App. Parbat Singh, dr.4).

 

Soon after the start, ETERNAL ROYALTY (A. Sandesh) shifted in and went across PHOENIX CAT ( Dashrath Singh), who had to be steadied.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, SUGAR BAY (J. Chinoy) shifted in on to MAGNUM OPUS (App. Bhawani Singh), who in turn shifted in on to MOUNT RUSHMORE (N. S. Parmar) and STAND AND DANCE (App. Yash Narredu), due to which STORMY PRINCESS (App. N. B. Kuldeep) was tightened along the rails and dropped back. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

At about 150 metres, PHOENIX FIRE (Colm O’Donoghue) shifted out and had to be steadied.

 

Jockey S. K. Jadhav (CANNONBALL RUN) was observed to have dropped his hands before passing the Winning Post which possibly cost him the fourth place. After questioning Jockey S. K. Jadhav and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, his Jockey’s license has been suspended for 30th January 2016 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, STORMY PRINCESS was found to be sound. SUGAR BAY had lost its right hind plate.

 

RACE NO.6(130) – THE ANMOL PREET PLATE:  (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 15 

 

STREEJAMMER (App. Yash Narredu) was fractious and reluctant to be stalled. WAJOOD (App. Bhawani Singh) jumped out slow, losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainers Dallas Todywalla and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SEVERUS (A. Sandesh, dr.4) shifted out on to GOLDSMITH (N. S. Parmar, dr.5).

 

At the start, SAWGRASS (App. Santosh G. dr. 7) shifted in and made contact with CHOTE NAWAB (R. Shelar, dr.6).

 

At the start, ASCENDENCY (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 9) jumped outwards and at the same time SECRET RITUAL (Amyn Merchant, dr.11) shifted in, due to which ABIGAIL (App. R. Ajinkya, dr.10) was tightened.

 

After the race, SAWGRASS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, KOROL, SECRET RITUAL and CHOTE NAWAB were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(131) – THE APRIL BLOSSOM PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 15

 

At the start LOVEABLE LOCKS (S. P. Ranjane, dr.2) shifted out on to SHUKRAN (N. S. Parmar, dr.3), who in turn went on to HIGH WINDS (Hanumant Singh, dr.4) who had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, FAIRFARREN (App.Vishal, dr.6) shifted out, due to which RUNNING WILD (App.S.A.Amit, dr.7) shifted out and bumped GOLD DREAM (Amyn Merchant, dr.8).

 

Soon after the start, WONDER STORY (R. Shelar, dr.1) shifted out and at the same time BRIGHT HALO (S. Zervan, dr.5) shifted in, due to which LOVEABLE LOCKS (S. P. Ranjane, dr.2) was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

 

Passing 900 metres, DECIBELL (A. Sandesh) went across DELTIN (App. Yash Narredu) who had to be checked and shifted out. Thereafter, DECIBELL further shifted in on to ZAFIRAH (App. Bhawani Singh) and GOLD DREAM (Amyn Merchant) whereby both the Jockeys had to check their respective mount and dropped back. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Passing 800 metres, due to a tightly packed field, FAIRFARREN (App. Vishal) dropped back on to DECIBELL (A. Sandesh) who was tightened along the rails.

 

Passing 300 metres, NOBITA (S. G. Prasad) was observed to have shifted out, due to which WONDER STORY (R. Shelar) had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 200 metres, LOVEABLE LOCKS (S. P. Ranjane) shifted in and made contact with BRIGHT HALO (S. Zervan). Thereafter passing the 100 metres LOVEABLE LOCKS further shifted in due to which BRIGHT HALO was tightened along the rails and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching 100 metres, WIND AND RAIN (App. N. Nadeem) shifted in on to DECIBELL (A. Sandesh) who had to be checked to avoid clipping the heels of the front runners. The Stipendiary Stewards’ will be looking into the incident and will submit a report shortly.     

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of GOLD DREAM and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, DECIBELL and LOVEABLE LOCKS (examined on 15/01/2016) were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. BOLD APPEAL (1st race), CONGRESSIONAL (2nd race), CARBONARA (3rd race), SOLANGE 4th race), FINAL ENCOUNTER (5th race), SAWGRASS (6th race) and DELTIN (7th race), and the special samples of KOROL (6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
