RACE NO.1(134) –  THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY (DIV.I) : (About) 1200 Metres – 6 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Nazzak B. Chenoy, GABRIEL was examined at 1145 hours on 10/10/2019 and found to have an injury on the outside of the left fore cannon, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, QUESTINA was examined at 1845 hours on 12/10/2019 and found to have fever, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been fined Rs. 2,000/- for failing to parade his charge GODS PLAN in the paddock before being led to the start.

 

In the process of stalling, COURAGEOUS STAR (Shrikant Kamble) brushed one of the rear gates due to which it partially closed. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

GODS PLAN (Akshay) took a fly jump losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, C’EST L’AMOUR (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2) shifted in and made contact with LUMINOSITY (T. S. Jodha, dr.1).

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (SOLDIER OF FORTUNE) reported that his mount lacked initial speed and thereafter trailed the field despite his efforts. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that SOLDIER OF FORTUNE was examined at the stables in the morning on 14/10/2019 and found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.2(135) –  THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY : (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

After the race, HYANNIS, THOMAS HARDY and MAJESTIC WARRIOR were trotted and found to be sound. HYANNIS had an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.3(136) –  THE JIMMY UMRIGAR  TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres –  8 Runners

 

On the arrival at the start, NORTHERN SINGER (Kishore Kadam) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified the filly fit to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Dhanu S. Deora, the rider of ALAUDDIN KHILJI (Placed Second) against BELGRAVIA (S. Zervan, placed First). The reason being, at about 200 metres there was enough gap between PEZULA (Prashant P. Dhebe) along the rails and BELGRAVIA (S. Zervan) and when he tried to take the gap, BELGRAVIA came across him, took his ground and forced him to change course thus causing his horse to lose momentum, insipte of that his horse came back but couldn’t reach on time and this cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing as under:-

 

ALAUDDIN KHILJI                              -               FIRST;                   KNIGHT SUPERIOR          -               THIRD;

BELGRAVIA                                         -               SECOND;             PEZULA                                -               FOURTH

 

In the above connection, Jockey S. Zervan was asked to meet the Stewards for careless riding. Consideration of the matter was deferred.

 

After the race, KNIGHT SUPERIOR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(137) –  THE VINAYAK TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres –  10 Runners

 

BELENUS (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GODSWORD (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr.5) jumped outwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which MS BOSS (A. Sandesh, dr.6), JULIO CESARO (A. Imran Khan, dr.7), BELENUS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.8), SACHERTORTE (Suraj Narredu, dr.9) and TASCH (S. Zervan, dr.10) were inconvenienced.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, TURMERIC TOWER (Dashrath Singh) leaned inwards thereby tightening HODSON’S HORSE (App. D. R. Shubham) along the rails.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that HODSON’S HORSE came back in distress after the race. After First Aid treatment the gelding was sent to the stables.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that JULIO CESARO had left eye injury (sore).

 

After the race, MS BOSS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(138) –  THE F.A. & K.A. IRANI TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners

 

On the arrival at the start, EXCELLENT GOLD (A. Imran Khan) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

At the start, EXCELLENT GOLD (A. Imran Khan, dr.2) jumped outwards and at the same time HEADWAY (C.S.Jodha, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby tightening KING KHALIL (Suraj Narredu, dr.3). Thereafter, POKERFACE (S. J. Sunil, dr.5) shifted in and went across HEADWAY causing the latter to be checked.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, POKERFACE (S. J. Sunil) shifted in and went across ORACLE (N. S. Parmar) causing the latter to be checked and change course and at the same time FLAMING MARTINI (A. Sandesh) shifted in due to which LESREL (Neeraj Rawal) who was racing on their haunches, had to be checked and dropped back thereby inconveniencing KING KHALIL (Suraj Narredu) who also had to be checked. After questioning, Jockey S. J. Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 100 metres, ORACLE (N. S. Parmar) shifted in under urgings and inconvenienced LESREL (Neeraj Rawal).

 

The Equine Hospital reported that EXCELLENT GOLD had right eye injury (lacrimation, corneal opacity and soreness).

 

After the race, HEADWAY was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(139) –  THE NOSHIR & DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION (GR.3): (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Passing the 1000 metres, GOVERNOR GENERAL (A. Sandesh) shifted in onto ST. ANDREWS (A. Imran Khan). Thereafter, approaching 900 metres GOVERNOR GENERAL further shifted in and inconvenienced CLYMENE (T. S. Jodha) and INTENSE STYLIST (C. S. Jodha).

 

Passing the 250 metres, PERFECT STAR (N. S. Parmar) shifted in inconveniencing GOVERNOR GENERAL (A. Sandesh).

 

After the race, PERFECT STAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that INTENSE STYLIST had right eye injury (sore, lacrimation).

 

After the race, GOVERNOR GENERAL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(140) –  THE  PUNE DERBY (GR.I): (About) 2000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, SULTAN SULEIMAN was examined at 1030 hours on 13/10/2019 and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the rider of WIZARD OF STOCKS (Placed Second) against TROUVAILLE (C.S.Jodha, placed First). The reason being, at about 200 metres TROUVAILLE came in violently and cut across him, due to which he had to check his mount which broke the rhythm of his horse and this cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

 

In the above connection, Jockey C.S.Jodha was asked to meet the Stewards for careless riding. Consideration of the matter was deferred.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that TROUVAILLE had right eye injury (sore, lacrimation), RHAPSODY had right eye injury (sore) and DADDY’S PRIDE had injuries to both eyes (sore).

 

After the race, RHAPSODY was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(141) –  THE VINAYAK TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres –  10 Runners

 

On arrival at the start, KRUGER was examined by the Club’s V.O. at the request of Jockey Yash Narredu and was certified fit to race.

 

Passing the 700 metres, WARRIOR CLAN (A. Sandesh) shifted in tightening FALCONETTE (N. S. Parmar) along the rails. 

 

After the race, FALCONETTE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that  REVELATOR had right eye injury (sore, lacrimation) and GOD’S DECREE had injuries to both eyes (sore).

 

After the race, GOD’S DECREE, QUAIL HOLLOW and REVELATOR were trotted and found to be sound. GOD’S DECREE had an abrasion at the left hind pastern and right hind coronet.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd and 8th race viz. GODS PLAN, MYSTIC BAY and AUSPICIOUS, and the special sample of KNIGHT SUPERIOR (3rd race), MS BOSS (4th race) and HEADWAY (5th race) and the Urine and Blood Samples of IRON AGE & CLYMENE (Winner & Second Placed – 6th race) and TROUVAILLE, WIZARD OF STOCKS and DADDY’S PRIDE (Winner, Second and Third Placed – 7th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
