ADDITIONAL REPORTS :
RE: APPEAL FROM TRAINER DALLAS TODYWALLA AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF A FINE OF RS.50,000/- IMPOSED ON HIM - ELECTROCUTION OF “SOUL SPEAK” IN YOUR YARD
The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 13th September 2015 considered the Appeal lodged by Trainer
Dallas Todywalla.
The Board of Appeal having studied all the documents and papers that were
submitted and having heard the submissions made by Tr.Dallas
Todywalla, deliberated the matter at length and
having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case, the Board noted
that he should have examined the wiring at his stables when he had shifted to Pune and that he had admitted that the Electrical fitting
was carried out by a private electrician which was in breach of the Notice
published in the Racing Calendar. The Board observed that the safety of horses
is of paramount importance and a Trainer should be able to pre-empt it. The
Board was seized of the fact that the wire bitten by the horse was damaged due
to it being too old and repaired many times which had weakened it.
Therefore the Board decided to reject his Appeal. However, looking to the
peculiar nature of the case, the Board decided to refund his Appeal Deposit.
