RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED  8 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 12 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 13 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES  STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge TARA in the 5th race, at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer P.Shroff, permission was granted to Trainer Hosidar Daji to saddle his charge SWASHBUCKLER in the 6th race, at his (Trainer P.Shroff’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charge GRAN AMIGO in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(196) – THE EMPERADO PLATE (DIV.II):(About)1000 Metres– Runners-10

 

RISING ANGEL (C.S.Jodha) was fractious and refused to be stalled despite all efforts, as such, the mare was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.  Trainer D.J.Surti has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SHOCKALOT (F.Irani, dr.1) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to GIFT WRAPPED (H.G.Rathod, dr.2).

 

Jockey B.Nikhil (PRINCE) has been cautioned for using the whip with the left hand as his mount was inclined to lug-in in the concluding stages of the race. 

 

After the race, ALWAYS SMILE was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GIFT WRAPPED and TWITTILLATOR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(197) –THE OYSTER COVE TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners - 5  

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (CELTIC KING) reported the loss of whip near 300 metres. This being the fourth instance of him losing the whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, his Jockey’s license has been suspended w.e.f. 6th March 2014 to 9th March 2014 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Near 150 metres MYLA ROSE (Y.S.Srinath) shifted-in under the use of whip and caused interference to STEP UP (Ap.Sandeep Jadhav). Jockey Y.S.Srinath has been fined Rs.5,000/- for not making sufficient effort to correct his mount.

 

After the race, CELTIC KING was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(198)– THE  FOREST FLAIR PLATE:(About) 1000 Metres– Runners – 10

 

At the start, SONG OF SPARROW (S.S.Baria, dr.4) shifted-in and made contact with AINRA (S.G.Prasad, dr.3), who in turn made contact with CAPITANO (S.Sunil, dr.2).  Jockey S.S.Baria has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Shortly after the start, MAGIC STAR (B.Nikhil) lugged-in and went on to WAR HORSE (App.Sandeep Jadhav). Further, after the race, Jockey B.Nikhil reported that his mount lugged-in during the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The explanation of Jockey S.G.Prasad (AINRA) that he could not follow the instructions which were to be in 3rd / 4th position due to the interference he received at the start, was noted.

 

Jockey S. S. Baria (SONG OF SPARROW) reported the loss of whip near 200 metres.

 

After the race, HILLS AND HEIGHTS was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the mare had an injury at the right nostril. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AINRA, CAPITANO and TITLEIST were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(199) – THE A F S TALYARKHAN TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 7

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that on the way to the start, NATIONAL GOLD (S.Sunil) played up while entering the track.. On examination, the filly was observed to have cut injuries at the right stifle area, as such the filly was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer has to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race.

 

After the race, GREEK GOD and SMART RAIDER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(200) – THE GREAT INVESTMENT PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 11

 

TARA (Kavraj Singh) lugged-in in the straight. The explanation of Jockey Kavraj Singh that he has used the whip as a corrective measure was noted and Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, THE PACE and TARA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(201) – THE  CAMPANERO PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 8 

 

Approaching 200 metres, SNOWING (Dashrath Singh) leaned outwards and went on to SWASHBUCKLER (P.Trevor), who in turn made contact with LORELEI (D.K.Ashish) who travelled wide. Shortly afterwards, SNOWING again shifted out and made contact with SWASHBUCKLER (P.Trevor). Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, MOON RAKER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(202) – THE BLUE HORIZON PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 12

 

Trainer Altaf Hussain reported that Jockey Prabhu Naidu (ARABIAN LORD) weighed out at 54 kgs which was half a kilo over the published weight and he was not agreeable for the Jockey to carry an over-weight since the Jockey had confirmed that he would ride at or lower than the published weight. As such Jockey Prabhu Naidu was replaced by Jockey S.G.Prasad and this being Jockey Prabhu Naidu’s second offence of similar nature, his Jockey’s license has been suspended w.e.f. 6th March 2014 to 9th March 2014 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

At the start, MATEUS ROSE (Dashrath Singh) ducked-in.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, MATEUS ROSE (Dashrath Singh) shifted-in and in the process went across the heels of CONCORDE (P.Trevor) and clipped and stumbled.

 

Near 600 metres, HOLIDAY DANCER (Altaf Sayyed) was tightened while racing on the inside of WASABI (Y.S.Srinath) and while losing position caused MORALS (D.K.Ashish), who was following HOLIDAY DANCER,  to be steadied. Jockey Y.S.Srinath has been cautioned.

 

MORALS (D.K.Ashish) was denied a clear run in the straight.

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (MORALS) reported that his mount hung-in during the race. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi (NATALIAN EXPRESS) has been fined Rs 2,000/- for not persevering with his mount in the straight.

 

Jockey Malcolm Kharadi (WALK OF LIFE) has been fined Rs 3,000/- for not persevering with his mount in the straight.

 

After the race, NATALIAN EXPRESS, SAMAY BALWAN, HOLIDAY DANCER, CONCORDE, WALK OF LIFE, MATEUS ROSE (examined on 14/02/2014) and MORALS (examined on 14/02/2014) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(203) – THE  EMPERADO PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 11

 

On arrival at the start, SEEN IT ALL (S.P.Ranjane) was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore by the left hind leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, ZAAGROS (I.Pasha, dr.10) jumped awkwardly and went outwards and then ducked in as the filly regained her balance and went on to MAGIC VISION (C.S.Jodha, dr.9). 

 

After the race, MAMBO MAGIC was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th race, viz. GREEK GOD, SKY LANTERN, SWASHBUCKLER and WASABI were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
