RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE POSITIONED 6 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2400 METRES UP TO 700 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY UP TO 400 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO POSITIONED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES.
On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charges NIGELLA (1st race) and LAS SALINAS (5th race – subsequently this race was cancelled), at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(118) – THE SPARK OF GOLD PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 12 Runners
DIA (App.Santosh G.) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head up.
ENVISION (App.Bhawani Singh) was cautioned for travelling wide throughout the straight.
App. Bhawani Singh (ENVISION) has been fined Rs. 3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. (Second Offence)
After the race, SHOWN was found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(119) – THE SPEARHEAD PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 8 Runners
TOOFAN (N.S.Parmar, dr.5) jumped out awkwardly and went on to DRACO (Dashrath Singh, dr.4).
Passing 1400 metres, due to a tightly packed field, HOSHIYAAR (P.S.Chouhan) shifted in and tightened DRACO (Dashrath Singh), forcing the latter to check and drop back.
Passing the 400 metres, HOSHIYAAR (P.S.Chouhan) shifted in on to BACKSTREET BAY (R.Shelar). Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been cautioned
HOME ADVANTAGE (C.S.Jodha) hung-in in the straight. Trainer S.Waheed has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait was questioned with regard to the poor performance of his charge HOSHIYAAR. He stated that this was the first time in his last six starts that the gelding has run off board. He said that the gelding is dry coated and was blowing after the race and possibly the heat may be the reason for the poor performance. An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HOSHIYAAR and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, BACKSTREET BAY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.3(120) – THE PUNE CANTONMENT BOARD TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners
Trainer Subhag Singh was fined Rs.2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing on his charge OLIVIA KASPEN wherein the filly was declared to have Steel plates but on examination was found to have Steel, hind bare.
Passing 400 metres, POWER SHADOW (App.N.B.Kuldeep) was observed to have shifted out on to V TWO R ONE (Vikram Walkar). On questioning, App.N.B.Kuldeep stated that his mount hung out despite his efforts. Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ALIBOXER, BOLD APPEAL, DENNY CRANE and ZION were found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(121) – THE MACCHUPICCHU DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
PAURUS (T.S.Jodha) planted and did not take part in the race, as such, the Starting Stall Certificate of the colt has been revoked.
CONFIANCE (App.S.J.Sunil, dr.10) shifted in soon after the start thereby tightening the field. App.S.J.Sunil has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in before the red marker.
Jockey S.Zervan (FINAL ENCOUNTER) reported that his mount ducked into the rails, passing the 1000 metres.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (INCANDESCENT) reported that he did not get an opening in the straight.
Jockey P.S.Chouhan (SEAHORSE )reported that his mount was not comfortable with the Steel Bit and that he had advised the Trainer to use a Rubber Bit on this filly next time out. the trainer has not been questioned in this regard we will be doing so and submit our report.
JUPITER (App.Yash Narredu) was observed to have veered out in the last 50 metres on to INCANDESCENT (Neeraj Rawal). On questioning, App.Yash Narredu stated that his mount was tiring in the final stages and the moment he changed his whip hand, the gelding veered out. App.Yash Narredu has been cautioned.
After the race, FINAL ENCOUNTER was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore pastern and had lost its left fore plate. JUPITER & FRIBOURG were found to be sound.

There was a heavy down pour after the fourth race. The Stewards held a meeting and having considered the opinion of the Clerk of the Course and the Jockeys that the rains had rendered the underfoot conditions non-conducive for racing, decided to cancel the Fifth race (Race No.122 – The Dakshin Maharashtra Sub-Area Trophy, 1000 Metres) Seventh race (Race No.124 – The Pune Cantonment Board Trophy (Div.II), 1200 metres) and the Eight race (Race No.125 – The Radical Force Plate, 1400 metres). It was further decided to postpone the Sixth Race (Race No.123 – The Idar Gold Trophy (Gr.3), 2400 metres) and to run the same at 12.45 p.m. on Sunday, 13th September, 2015.

The post race urine sample of the winners of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th race, viz. TOOFAN, BOLD APPEAL and CONFIANCE, and the special sample of SIMPLY SHINING (1st race), HOSHIYAAR & BACKSTREET BAY (2nd race), DENNY CRANE (3rd race) and THE SOPRANO (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance. The sampling of REGAL (Winner, 1st race) was abandoned as the filly did not pass urine within the stipulated period of time.

RE : APPEAL FROM APP.S.J.SUNIL IN RESPECT OF THE DECISION OF THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS SUSPENDING HIS APP.JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 26/9/2015 TO 10/10/2015 FOR UNSATISFACTORY RIDING ON “JUPITER” IN RACE NO.88 – THE RAPHAELA PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON SATURDAY, 29TH AUGUST, 2015:
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 12th September, 2015 interviewed App.S.J.Sunil and his Master, Tr.Sanjay Kolse as also Trainer M.Narredu in the above connection. Having heard them and having viewed the video of the race in question as also the horse’s subsequent run in Race No.121 and having deliberated the matter, decided to reject the appeal.

RE : DELAY IN SUBMISSION OF THE LEFT CHARGE FORM IN RESPECT OF “KHALEEFA” AND “ALEJOR”
Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed was fined Rs.2,000/- for delay in submitting the Left Charge Form in respect of his two horses KHALEEFA and ALEJOR. The horses left his charge on 9th May, 2015 whereas the Left Charge Form was submitted to the Racing Department on 11th September, 2015.
