On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge MONSIEUR STRAUSS in the 5th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(49)  – THE  MOOSA M.HOOSEIN TROPHY (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

HIGH SOCIETY (A.M.Tograllu) planted and was assisted out of the gate.  Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its last run in Mumbai, Trainer N.B.Chenoy  has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MACHO UNO (S.Zervan, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and caused NATIONAL IKON (A.J.Nilesh, dr.4) to shift out who in turn carried NOBEL GLORY (Nirmal Jodha, dr.5) outwards.

 

Jockey A.J.Nilesh (NATIONAL IKON) has been fined Rs.1000/- for allowing his mount to shift ground outwards under the use of the whip in the straight

Jockey Akash Agarwal (GLORIA) has been cautioned for repeatedly looking in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, MARINE ZONE was found to be sore by the right fore leg.  The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NOBEL GLORY and NATIONAL IKON were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(50) – THE NELSON RIVER PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

Soon after the start, MEDIATOR (V.Phadke) lugged outwards and a short while after ALEUTIAN ZONE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in and inconvenienced MEDIATOR.

 

Soon after the start, CAPTAIN SMART (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and jostled with ALEUTIAN ZONE. (Dashrath Singh). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

Trainer H.J.Antia and Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar were questioned with regard to the running and riding of MOUNTAIN LION. The Instructions were to ride his own race. The Jockey explained that he was stuck behind horses for the better part of the race and the gelding lugged-in in the straight. He added that if he had got the opening he could have finished better. The Trainer stated that when Jockey Imran Chisty rode, he could not get the gelding out of the rails even with the help of a whip. The Trainer added that the gelding did not get the run of the race. To another question, he stated that a change of equipment has not improved the gelding. Not being entirely satisfied with the explanation tendered, both the Trainer and the Jockey have been cautioned.

 

After the race, Trainer H.J.Antia informed that Jockey Kavraj Singh (PRINCE) had not followed his Instructions which were to be in a good position. The Jockey stated that he was asked to be in a good position may be 4th/5th. It was observed that the Jockey had made no effort to position his mount as instructed, as such the matter was reported to the Stewards.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Trainer H.J.Antia and Jockey Kavraj Singh and having heard them and viewing the video recording  of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Kavraj Singh and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 1st September, 2012 to 9th September, 2012 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Trainer Ivor Fernandes was questioned regarding the running and riding of MEDIATOR (V.Phadke). The Trainer stated that he had instructed the Jockey to sit in a forward position and to do his best in the straight. He said that the Jockey could not go to the front despite all his efforts and he has ridden out the horse as per his caliber in the straight. On viewing the video recording of the race, it was observed that the Jockey had made an effort to go to the front but could not do so. The explanation tendered by Trainer Ivor Fernandes was noted.

 

After the race, MACHALA, PRINCE, MOUNTAIN LION, CLASSIC MONEY and MEDIATOR were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(51) – THE KIA ORA  PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

Trainer Nina M. Lalvani has been fined Rs.1,000/- for failing to produce the Registered Racing Colours in respect of her charge SOLOR (App.Tushar Nemane). The Jockey wore the Emergency colours i.e. All Black.

 

At the start, VIBGYOR (C.Rajendra, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to ILLUSTRIOUS (Nirmal Jodha, dr.3).

 

Jockey P.Trevor (FORWARD CHARGE) reported that he could not follow the instructions which were to be well up as the gelding was sluggish throughout the race.  The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he report that  FORWARD CHARGE was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the left upper eye lid.

 

After the race, ILLUSTRIOUS, SVELTE LADY and SABA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(52) – THE MOOSA M.HOOSEIN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Before the race, TAG ALONG TOMMY was observed to have local skin reaction due to ant bites on the right side of neck.

 

Soon after the start, SCINTILLO (Kavraj Singh) shifted in and carried GOLDEN MEMORY (A.Sandesh) inwards who caused interference to TAMARAI (Amyn Merchant) who in turn inconvenienced JEN’S GLORY (App.Prabhu Naidu). Jockey Kavraj Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (SCINTILLO) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, EMERALD VALLEY was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon. GOLDEN MEMORY was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(53) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – 8 Runners

 

Passing 400 metres, SERGEANT MAJOR (Imran Chisty) shifted out to progress in the race and in the process carried DANCING SPLENDOUR (T.S.Jodha) outwards. Jockey Imran Chisty has been cautioned.

 

Jockey S.Zervan (MONSIEUR STRAUSS) has been cautioned for easing up before passing the Post.

 

After the race, BLUE CASPER was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the left hind fetlock.  NIGELLA had an abrasion at the right hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.6(54) – THE HURRICANE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 13 Runners

 

BURGUNDY ROSE (A.Sandesh) and WINDS OF FORTUNE (P.Kamlesh) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers M.K.Jadhav and C.D.Katrak have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the Start, TURKANA (I.Pasha, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and went in on to SAMI (Abhishek Habbu, dr.4) who went on to WIND CRAFT (Amyn Merchant, dr.3).

 

After the start, ABSOLUTE STAR (R.K.Mahesh) drifted outwards due to which AMIKA (Dashrath Singh) was forced to travel wide.

 

Near 800 metres, SAMI (Abhishek Habbu) scrapped the rails.

 

Jockey Imran Chisty (MAHIKI) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to drift out in the straight under the use of the whip.

 

After the race MAHIKI was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the left hind pastern. SNOW KING was examined on 13/08/2012 and found to be sound, but having an abrasion at both hind fetlocks.

 

RACE NO.7(55) – THE SANJAY KAKADE GROUP TURF CLUB TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

 

After the race, ANCIENT WONDER was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock, PURE ELATION had a cut injury at the left hind pastern and SILKEN TOUCH had a cut injury at the right hind, above the coronet. RANTHAMBHORE and VITTORIA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(56) – THE HURRICANE PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners

 

At the start, TUSCANIA (S.Shinde, dr.11) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to SPEEDING (Nirmal Jodha, dr.10).

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (ASTROMIA, dr.12) has been cautioned for shifting ground inwards before the Red Marker.

 

Passing 600 metres, SAMBURU (R.K.Mahesh) shifted out to progress in the race while maneuvering around NANYUKI (T.S.Jodha) due to which FIRE ENGINE (P.Kamlesh) shifted out and hampered the running of MERCI BEAUCOUP (Akash Agarwal), who in turn inconvenienced QUEEN OF VENUS (Amyn Merchant). 

 

Near 300 metres, MERCI BEAUCOUP (Akash Agarwal) shifted in under the use of the whip and made contact with ICE SKATES (Hanumant Singh). Jockey Akash Agarwal has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Malcolm Kharadi (BOURBON STREET) lugged in during the race, as such Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after crossing the winning post MERCI BEAUCOUP dislodged the Jockey and fell on the tracks. On examination, the gelding was found to have suffered a complete fracture of Tibra and Fibula of right hind leg. After consent of the Trainer, the horse was euthanized on humane grounds.

 

After the race QUEEN OF VENUS was observed to have an abrasion at the right fore cannon. ICE SKATES was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(57) – THE  GOODNESS GRACIOUS PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners

 

BLUE MELLON (Imran Chisty) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

INQUILAAB (Amyn Merchant) jumped out slow and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop and ran detached throughout the race.  Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

Near 300 metres, MOUNTAIN WARRIOR (M.A.Roushan) lugged out and carried MACEDONIAN (S.Zervan) outwards, who in turn took ASAHI (A.Sandesh) outwards. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

MACHO MAN (Vikram Jodha) trailed the field. Trainer Anil Kumar has been asked to ensure that his charge races with the field in the future.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of STEP UP and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, ASAHI was observed to have a cut injury at the left hock. STEP UP, MOUNTAIN WARRIOR, INQUILAAB and MACHO MAN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10 (58)– THE NELSON RIVER PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners

 

BATHSHEBA (Kavraj Singh) reached the start late. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been  asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

BAYBLUES (Dashrath Singh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, WILD IMAGNATION (App Nikhil Bjujbal) shifted in and caused GOTTAWEARSHADES (Hanumant Singh) to shift in who tightened HERCULEAN (R.Rupesh) on to TOWERING HIGH (Shammi Khan).  App Nikhil Bhujbal has been fined 2000/-.

 

Near 800 metres, MALADASUN (Abhishek Habbu) shifted inwards due to which SECREATIVE (R.Birmane) shied away and shifted in and was steadied.

 

The post race urine sample of the winners of the 2nd 6th, 7th and 8th race viz. SPRINGBANK, AMIKA, RAJASTHAN ROYALS and BOURBON STREET, as also that of DANCING GLANCES & CARDINAL (7th race) and the special sample of STEP UP (9th race),  were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
