On a request from Trainer Himmat Singh, permission was granted to Tr. Suresh Chavan to saddle his charge LUCKY STRIKE in the 5th race, at his (Trainer Himmat Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(237) – THE RONALDO PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 4 

 

MAGNIFICENCE (A.Sandesh) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, CHARGING TIGRESS (J. Chinoy dr. 3) shifted out and made contact with SAWGRASS (App. Santosh G. dr. 4), thereafter shifted in and tightened BATMAN (Neeraj Rawal dr. 1) along the rails. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 300 metres, MAGNIFICENCE (A. Sandesh) shifted out under urgings. Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned for failing to take corrective action.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of MAGNIFICENCE (A. Sandesh) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, MAGNIFICENCE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(238) – THE FLAREON PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 11

 

At the start, NIGELLA (T. S. Jodha dr. 3) jumped out leaning outwards due to which LIMEKILNS (J. Chinoy dr. 4) and WIZARD OF ODDS (Amyn Merchant dr. 5) shifted out on to MANNEQUIN (R. Vaibhav dr. 6) who had to be steadied.

 

At the start, JAQK (App. Vishal dr. 9) and SANSA (App. Yash Narredu dr. 8) shifted in and out respectively and bumped each other, due to which JAQK (App. Vishal dr. 9) was observed to have stumbled.

 

Approaching the 1200 metres, SQUASH (App. S. A. Amit) shifted out tightening LIMEKILNS (J. Chinoy), thereafter SQUASH shifted in on to DIABLO (Malcolm Kharadi) who was tightened along the rails.

 

App. Yash Narredu (SANSA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit. On questioning, App. Yash Narredu stated that his mount was hanging in and he had used the whip as a corrective measure. As such no action has been initiated.

 

Jockey S. P. Ranjane (BAY OF LOVE) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, SAMURAI was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that WIZARD OF ODDS was examined at the stables in the morning on 13/03/2016 and found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RESILIENT, JAQK and DIABLO were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(239)  – THE RADHA SIGTIA TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – Runners – 5

 

App. Yash Narredu (JIGSAW) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

RACE NO.4(240) – THE A.HOYT PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  11

 

At the request of Trainer S. K. Sunderji, BARYSHNIKOV was examined at 1830 hours on 10/03/2016 and found to have fever, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, BIG BRO (App. N. Nadeem) shifted in on to POLAR ZONE (App. Bhawani Singh) who in turn went on to ROYAL SAPPHIRE (J. Chinoy) who was tightened for room and had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 700 metres, due to a tightly packed field ROYAL SAPPHIRE (J. Chinoy) was hampered for room and had to be checked.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of SILVER GHOST (H. G. Rathod) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, BIG BRO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SPEEDO was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind fetlock. SILVER GHOST was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(241) – THE KEUKENHOF PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10 

 

At the request of Trainer Nina M. Lalvani, MINERVA was examined at 1130 hours on 12/03/2016 and found to be sore by the left hind leg, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds.  The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

JORDEN PRINCE (R. Vaibhav) jumped out slow, losing about 6 lengths at the start. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner earlier, Trainer C. Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, STAR ACE (Sandeep Jadhav dr. 4) jumped out outwards on to Q’E’D (Neeraj Rawal dr. 5).

 

At the start, LUCKY STRIKE (T. S. Jodha dr. 6) shifted in on to Q’E’D (Neeraj Rawal dr. 5) causing the latter to be checked.

 

After the race, Jockey S. P. Ranjane (ELEKTRA KING) reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped during the race. After questioning, Trainer H. J. Antia has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (6. LUCKY STRIKE) reported that his mount was running erratic during the initial stages of the race.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of FRANKEST (A. Sandesh) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, FRANKEST was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(242 )– THE AUDI MULTI-MILLION:  (About) 1200 Metres –Runners – 5

 

Approaching 800 metres, ONE AIM (A. Sandesh) was observed to have changed its running lead and clipped the heels of SERENITA (Dashrath Singh) due to which, ONE AIM was unbalanced and fell. As a result, GOOD THING (S. John) and SPARKLING EYES (C. S. Jodha) racing directly behind him were also unbalanced, dislodging their respective riders.

 

After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (WHOMAKESTHERULES) reported that his mount was hanging-in in the straight. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

The Sr. V.O.  reported that during the race ONE AIM stumbled and collapsed at about 800 metres from the winning post. First aid treatment was given immediately on the track but the gelding could not get up. On examination, swelling on vertebral column on back was noticed and paralysis of tail was noticed. The gelding could not take weight on both hind legs.  After obtaining consent of the trainer, ONE AIM was euthanized on humane grounds on the track.

 

Passing the 200 metres, SERENITA (Dashrath Singh) shifted out under urgings. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned for failing to take corrective action.

 

After the race, SPARKLING EYES and GOOD THING were trotted and found to be sound. SPARKLING EYES had a bruise on the left shoulder and GOOD THING had a cut injury at the left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.7(243) – THE COMMANCHE DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1400 Metres– Runners – 16

 

SENSEX (Kishore Kadam) was observed to have been brought into the paddock with Tongue Strap without taking prior permission. The same was removed before horse left the paddock. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

Soon after the start, DANCING LORD (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in on to MISS MYSTIQUE (App. Yash Narredu) who was tightened along the rails.

 

Approaching 1300 metres, PINK PANTHER (Amyn Merchant) shifted in due to which RAIN DANCE (App. S. A. Amit) shied inwards going onto FLYING DRAGON (T. S. Jodha) who in turn went onto DANCING LORD (Neeraj Rawal).

Approaching the 200 metres, STREETJAMMER (J. Chinoy) shifted in on to RAIN DANCE (App. S. A. Amit) who had to be steadied. Jockey J. Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh MAGICAL DANCER) reported that his mount was slow off at the start.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of CENTAURUS (AKSHAY), LOCARNO (App. N. B. Kuldeep) and PINK PANTHER (Amyn Merchant) and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, EXODUS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MAGICAL DANCER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(244) – THE KEUKENHOF PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

At the start, IMPERIAL PRINCESS (App. G. Amit dr.7) and ALMOST MAGICAL (Amyn Merchant dr. 4) shifted in and out respectively, tightening SILVER EDGE (Hanumant Singh dr. 5) and SILK BABY (Neeraj Rawal dr. 6) drawn between them.

 

At the start, DECCAN KING (App. N. Nadeem dr. 10) shifted out and made contact with AAMERICAN AGATTA (App. H. Zeeshan dr. 11)

 

Passing 350 metres, MIND OF MADNESS (App. Bhawani Singh) was observed to have shifted in tightening JUNE (Yash Narredu) along the rails. App. Bhawani Singh has been severely cautioned.

 

Passing the 300 metres, Jockey Dashrath Singh’s reins were observed to have slipped out of his hands. On questioning he stated that in an attempt to change his whip hand the reins had slipped out. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been asked to be more careful in the future.

 

After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (ANCIENT GLORY) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, IMPERIAL PRINCESS, MIND OF MADNESS, RELENTLESS PURSUIT, AAMERICAN AGATTA and ANCIENT GLORY were trotted and found to be sound.

BATMAN (1st race),  SQUASH (2nd race), PHENOMENAL MEMORY (3rd race), MIZILLA GOLD (4th race), BULLDOZER (5th race), WHOMAKESTHERULES (6th race), EXODUS (7th race) and ANCIENT GLORY (8th race), and the special sample of MAGNIFICENCE (1st race), SAMURAI (2nd race) and FRANKEST (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT:

 

RACE NO.5(234) – THE PRINCE JEHAN PLATE:

 

The Clerk of the Scales reported that App. Bhawani Singh (DEMARCHE) weighed in at 53.7 kg. i.e. over weight of 1.7 kg. as compared to the weight at which he had weighed out (52 kg). On questioning, Apprentice Bhawani Singh stated that he had used a light weight girth and surcingle however the same was replaced by the trainer at the time of saddling and that could be the reason for him not being able to draw the proper weight. In view of the above, Trainer Narendra Lagad was fined Rs.5,000/-

 

On further enquiring into the incident  it was found that even though the equipment was changed by the trainer the variation in the weight could not be accounted for and on questioning  App. Bhawani Singh he said that after he was weighed out he had consumed liquids and since he was doing a light weight it could have resulted in the sudden increase in the weight  therefore the action taken has been amended  App. Bhawani Singh has been fined Rs.5000/- and trainer Narendra Lagad has been warned for the lapse on his part.
