RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 6 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charge of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. ADAMS WING in the 6th race, at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(186) - THE  CAMPANERO PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres.  Runners – 9

 

Soon after the start, STALWART (R.Shelar, dr.3) shifted in due to SAMURAI (C.S.Jodha, dr.4) shifting inwards and in turn went on to NATIONAL STAR (Sandeep Jadhav, dr.2).

 

Travelling some distance after the start, GRACIOUS (Kishore Kadam), who raced keen and was being steadied, shifted in and made contact with ROMANTIC RACER (Neeraj Rawal) on a couple of occasions.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the improved performance of GRACIOUS and will submit a report shortly.

After the race, SAMURAI was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(187) – THE INDISCRETION PLATE  (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 7

 

At the request of Trainer Nirad Karanjawala, JEENA was examined at 1030 hours on 12/02/2015 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg due to tendinitis. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Soon after the start, BAY OF SECRETS (S.Zervan, dr.3) shifted in and went across BELLA LUNA (App.Yash Narredu, dr.2) who was steadied. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (SIMONA) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of the whip in the final 200 metres.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (PEARL SECRET) reported the loss of whip between the 300 and 200 metres.

 

After the race, PEARL SECRET was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(188) - THE A.GEDDIS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 10

 

At the start, WIND CRAFT (Vikram Jodha, dr.10) jumped awkwardly inwards, due to which the Jockey lost his right stirrup, as a result the jockey lost control over his mount and jostled with SKYJET (App.Bhawani Singh, dr.9). The Jockey regained his stirrup shortly afterwards.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of INCENTIO and PITBULL and will submit a report shortly.

 

RACE NO.4(189) -THE  F.K.VAKIL TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres.  Runners - 12

 

HOSHIYAAR (A.Sandesh) lugged out in the straight and carried OXBRIDGE (Neeraj Rawal) outwards in the concluding stages of the race. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ZAAN and AZADEGAN were found to be sore by the right fore leg and left fore leg respectively.  Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of AUTHORITY and will submit a report shortly.

 

After the race, HOSHIYAAR and FLYING ANGEL were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(190) - THE A.F.S.TALYARKHAN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres.  Runners -12

 

Near 80 metres, SWARAJ (Amyn Merchant) over reached and clipped THE BIG REVIVAL (I.Pasha) and stumbled.

 

GULLFOSS (S.Zervan) was inclined to lug out in the straight. Trainer Zadmal Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

Jockey I.Pasha (THE BIG REVIVAL) reported the loss of whip 200 metres from winning post. The Jockey explained that the horse ran green during the race and in an attempt to correct his mount, the whip hit his boot and fell off.  The explanation was noted.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of SWARAJ and will submit a report shortly.

 

After the race, POWER SHADOW was found to be sound. THE BIG REVIVAL had a cut injury at the right hock.

 

RACE NO.6(191) – THE BLUE HORIZON PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -14

 

Jockey Kishore Kadam (LEOTHEFIERCEHORSE) reported the loss of whip near 400 metres. 

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performances of ASHRAFIE  and the poor performance of COLD PLAY and a report will be submitted shortly.  Further, the Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running of the whole race.

 

After the race, BLUE FLAME and COLD PLAY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(192) - THE FOREST FLAIR PLATE:(About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 16

 

MAQSAD (Shrikant Kamble, dr.3) and CHLOBUD (App.S.J.Sunil, dr.) jumped out awkwardly outward and inward respectively and bumped each other. Soon thereafter, ZAAGROS (App.Akshay Gaikwad, dr.5) shifted in and went on to CHLOBUD (App.S.J.Sunil) who was unbalanced momentarily. App.Akshay Gaikwad has been cautioned.

 

BLACKBEAN (C.S.Jodha) was carried wide marginally as CHOLDBUD (App.S.J.Sunil) shifted out while negotiating the bend.

MAHIMA (S.Mosin) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

CHLOBUD (App.S.J.Sunil) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

App. Akshay Gaikwad (ZAAGROS) reported that his mount was hanging in throughout the race. Trainer Vinay Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the running and riding of EARTH QUAKE and ZAAGROS and will submit a report shortly.

 

After the race, CHLOBUD, HOLIDAY DANCER and EARTH QUAKE were found to be sound. ACKER BILK had a broken upper jaw tooth.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 4th and 5th race, viz. GRACIOUS, HOSHIYAAR and GULLFOSS, and the special sample of SAMURAI (1st race), BAY OF SECRETS (2nd race), MINE FOREVER & CEZANNE (3rd race), AUTHORITY (4th race), AME (5th race), COLD PLAY (6th race) and MAQSAD (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF  ch m “BURGUNDY ROSE” (UNPLACED) IN RACE NO.158 – THE NATIVE KNIGHT GOLD TROPHY RUN ON 24TH JANUARY, 2015 :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Thursday, 12th February, 2015 interviewed Tr.M.K.Jadhav regarding the positive report dated 11th February, 2015  from Racing Laboratory, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge BURGUNDY ROSE (Unplaced) in Race No.158 – The Native Knight Gold Trophy run on 24th January, 2015 which read as under :-

 

 “The analysis has shown the presence of flurbiprofen”

 

At this meeting, Trainer M.K.Jadhav was handed over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample, i.e. latest by 17th February 2015, whether he wished to send the split sample of his charge BURGUNDY ROSE to LGC, New Market, UK, or L C H, France, for Confirmatory analysis and also the name of the witnessing analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the primary laboratory as conclusive.

 

Tr.M.K.Jadhav was asked to conduct his own enquiries and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.V.O. of the Club, as and when he would be required to.

RE : APPEAL FROM JOCKEY F.IRANI IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS FOR 15/02/2015 FOR INCOMPETENT RIDING ON “SHARMEELY” IN RACE NO.120 – THE INDIAN AIR FORCE TROPHY RUN ON 8TH JANUARY, 2015 – ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “SHARMEELY” IN RACE NO.150 RUN ON 24TH JANUARY, 2015 WHICH THE MARE WON AS COMPARED TO HER PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO.120 WHERE SHE WAS UNPLACED :

 

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Thursday, 12th February, 2015 considered appeal from Jockey F.Irani in the above connection and having heard him and viewing the race, decided to reject his appeal.

 

The Stewards also interviewed Trainer Faisal A.Abbas with regard to the comparative performance of his charge SHARMEELY in Race No.150 run on 2015 which the mare won as compared to her previous run in Race No.120 run on 8th January, 2015 where she was unplaced. Having heard the submissions made and viewing the video of both the races, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit this time. However, his attention was drawn to the Calendar Notification  regarding horses winning in a short span of time and he was warned to be more careful in the future.
