RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer N.B.Chenoy, permission was granted to Trainer Bezan Chenoy to saddle her charge CELTIC MANOR (3rd race), at her (Trainer N.B.Chenoy‘s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Vinayak, permission was granted to Trainer Suresh Chavan to saddle his charges STAR BURST (1st race), OCEAN TERN (3rd race) & STAR EMPIRE (5th race), at his (Trainer Vinayak‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (125) – THE  BLUE HORIZON PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 7

 

At the request of Trainer H.J.Antia, VIVA LA DIVA was examined at 1000 hours on 12/01/2012 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg due to tendinitis, as such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start, PEREGRINE FALCON (Kavraj Singh, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards on to FANTASTIC (A.Sandesh, dr.5) who went on to SMALL TREASURE (Ishwar Pardeshi, dr.6) who in turn went out on to SCINTILLATING STAR (Vikram Jodha, dr.7), who itself had jumped awkwardly inwards.

 

Near 400 metres, CROWNED PRINCESS (P.Trevor) was eased off the heels of STAR BURST (R.Hughes) and shifted out to make his bid.

 

After the race, STAR BURST was found to be sound but having an abrasion at the right fore cannon and left hind pastern. LORD OF KILLARNEY was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (126)  – THE  TWIN STAR PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 11

 

THIS IS IT (M.A.Roushan) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head and veered towards the outside and did not raise an effective gallop, resulting in losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GLOWING MIST (C.S.Jodha, dr.1) shifted out on to FREE FOR ALL (R.Hughes, dr.2) who in turn made contact with PERFECT STRENGTH (T.S.Jodha, dr.3) and at the same time KASKAZI (Daniel M.Grant, dr.4) shifted in after an awkward jump, due to which PERFECT STRENGTH lost position.

 

Near 1300 metres, SACRED RELIC (S.S.Baria) shifted in and went across KASKAZI (Daniel M.Grant) who was checked. Jockey S.S.Baria has been fined Rs.1000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Jockeys S.S.Baria (SACRED RELIC) and Daniel M.Grant (KASKAZI) have been fined Rs.1000/- each for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on their respective mount.

 

Jockey Daniel M Grant (KASKAZI) has been fined a further sum of Rs.3000/- for improper use of the whip wherein the Jockey had used his whip with excessive frequency.

 

RACE NO.3 (127) – THE  BLUE HORIZON PLATE (DIV.I): 1000 Metres - Runners – 9

 

Jockey R.Hughes (OCEAN TERN) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, NOU CAMP was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, OCEAN TERN was found to be sound but having a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.4 (128)  – THE  HAUNTING MEMORIES PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres - Runners – 8

 

TALK OF THE TOWN (V.Phadke) began awkwardly, losing ground.

 

Jockey Akshay (SCHNELL) reported loss of his whip near 300 metres.

 

Jockey V.Phadke (TALK OF THE TOWN) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to drift out in the straight and also for unbalancing his mount whilst using the whip.

 

After the race, SCHNELL and STAR WARRIOR were found to be sound. SCHNELL had lost its left fore plate.

 

RACE NO.5 (129) – THE  INDIAN AIR FORCE TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 12

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Owners, STAR EMPIRE was examined before the race and was found to be sound. The gelding returned sound after the race.

 

AZUL (T.S.Jodha) planted and lost a distance at the start. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the Start, GLOWING STAR (C.Rajendra, dr.9) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to STAR TREASURE (R.Shelar, dr.10).  LIVING THE DREAM (Kavraj Singh, dr.11) jumped out awkwardly and EYE OF THE STORM (P.Trevor, dr.12) shifted inwards after the start and went across LIVING THE DREAM and then continued to shift inwards. Jockey P.Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Jockey T.S.Jodha (AZUL) has been fined Rs.5000/- for improper use of the whip on his mount in the Starting Gates.

 

Approaching 200 metres, STAR EMPIRE (R.Hughes) was steadied momentarily as FORWARD CHARGE (Dashrath Singh) shifted ground inwards.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of STAR EMPIRE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race,  AZUL, BEYOND COMPARISON and STAR TREASURE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (130)  – THE  SANTORINI STAR TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12

 

At the start, YOUR LORDSHIP (Akash Agarwal, dr.9) jumped awkwardly outwards and tightened WHITE FEATHER (D.K.Ashish, dr.10) on to ANGELS QUEST (P.Trevor, dr.11).

 

Jockey P.Trevor (ANGELS QUEST) reported that he lost his right stirrup at the start which he regained shortly.

 

Soon after the start, ANGELS QUEST (P.Trevor) shifted in and caused YOUR LORDSHIP (Akash Agarwal) to change course inwards. Jockey P.Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Soon after the start, SMOKEY BABA (C.Rajendra) was inconvenienced and steadied as BORAK (Daniel M.Grant) shifted in due to AFROJACK (Dashrath Singh) shifting in. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

EDWINA (C.S.Jodha) hung out in the final stages of the race. Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly. 

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (EDWINA) has been cautioned for continuing to use the whip while his mount was shifting in under the use of the whip.

 

RACE NO.7 (131) – THE  ROMANTIC LIAISON PLATE:  (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 12

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Owners, STAR BUILDER was examined before the race and was found to be sound. The gelding returned sound after the race.

 

Passing 1000 metres, CELESTIAL CALL (App.Prabhu Naidu) was inconvenienced while racing on the inside of VINCERO (R.K.Mahesh). Shortly afterwards, STAR INVITATION (D.K.Ashish) was tightened while racing between STAR BUILDER (Sunny Chinoy) and CELESTIAL CALL (App.Prabbhu Naidu).

 

Jockey Sunny Chinoy (STAR BUILDER) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

ASLAN (C.S.Jodha) hung out in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (SAIFEENA) has been cautioned for aggravating the outward movement of his mount who was shifting out under the use of the whip.

 

After the race, STAR INVITATION was found to be sore by the right fore leg and EVELYN was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race,  ASLAN was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 4th and 6th race, viz. BESPOKE and BORAK and the special sample of STAR EMPIRE (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

RE: MORNING TRACK WORK – 10TH JANUARY, 2012:

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that VICTOIRE was observed to have broken a blood vessel after morning track work on 10th January, 2012. The gelding has been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.
