RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE BE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT.

On a request from Trainer S.K. Sunderji, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charge CYRENAICA in the 3rd race and TOMORROWS DREAMS in the 10^th race, at his own (Trainer S.K. Sunderji’ s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer M. Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Deepesh Narredu to saddle his charge EATON SQUARE in the 7^th race, at his own (Trainer M. Narredu) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (23) – THE SPORT EX CONSULTANCY TROPHY-DIVISION I : (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

On the way to the starting gate JET TYPHOON (Jockey K. Nazil, dr.9) dislodged his rider and bolted off towards the winning post. Since, Jockey K. Nazil was hurt and unable to fulfill his riding engagement as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starters order.

At the start, BETWEEN FRIENDS (App. Kritish Bhagat, dr.4) was inclined outwards and had to be steadied. In view of the behavior of the gelding, Trainer S. S. Shah has been asked to show his charge in gate practice to the satisfaction of the starter before next accepting to race.

At the start, LUMINOSITY (App. A. S. Peter, dr.8) jumped outwards, at the same time CHARMING STAR (Jockey Vishal N. Bunde, dr.11) jumped inwards and went across RAGNAR (Jockey Bhawani Singh dr. 10) who was marginally slow to begin.

In the final stages of the race, TEISPES (Jockey R. Shelar) shifted out onto CHARMING STAR (Jockey Vishal N. Bunde) who had to be steadied. Jockey R. Shelar has been cautioned.

RAGNAR (Jockey Bhawani Singh, dr.10) was observed to have trailed the field. As such, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

After the race, MULTIENCRYPTED was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

After the race, RAGNAR was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2 (24) – THE R. J. KOLAH TROPHY: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

At the request of the Trainer S. K. Sunderji, KAMILAH was examined in the stable area on 10/12/2022 and was found to have suffering Upper Respiratory Tract Infection; as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds.

After the race, CAPRISCA was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3 (25) – THE SIR JAMSETJEE JEEJEEBHOY (VI BART) TROPHY-DIVISION I : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

MI ARION (Jockey P. Trevor, dr. 6) was restless and was not allowing his rider to settle in the stall. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has being asked to give his charge more gate practice and show to the satisfaction of the starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

Passing the 700 metres, ALEXANDROS (Jockey Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and made contact with CYRENAICA (Jockey S. P. Ranjane) who had to be steadied. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey Amyn Merchant (BALIUS WARRIOR) reported loss of whip passing 100 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, no action has been initiated.

RACE NO.4 (26) – THE K. M. MUNSHI TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –RUNNERS - 5

JUDY BLUE EYES (Jockey S. Mosin, dr.3) was reluctant to stall thereby causing considerable delay. In view of the behavior of the mare, Trainer Behram Cama has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the starter at the morning starting trails before next accepting to race.

At the start, CELLINI (App. P. Shinde, dr.2) leaned in and made contact with GAZINO (Jockey S. Zervan, dr. 1).

Soon after the start, MOZELLE (Jockey Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and went across JUDY BLUE EYES (Jockey S. Mosin) and CELLINI (App. P. Shinde) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

Passing the 1100 metres, MENILLY (Jockey R. Ajinkya) shifted in, at the same time CELLINI (App. P. Shinde, dr.2) leaned outwards and they made contact. Jockey R. Ajinkya and App. P. Shinde have been cautioned.

Approaching the 800 metres, JUDY BLUE EYES ( Jockey S. Mosin) shifted in and went across MENILY (Jockey R. Ajinkya) who had to be checked. After questioning, Jockey S. Mosin has been cautioned.

After the race, JUDY BLUE EYES and MOZELLE were examined and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5 (27) – THE M. N. NAZIR TROPHY : (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

At the start, AAH BELLA (Jockey Antony Raj S., dr.5) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

At the start, ZARAK (Jockey Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards and went across OWN LEGACY (Jockey Bhawani Singh, dr. 2) who was marginally slow to begin.

After the race, AAH BELLA was trotted and found to be sound.

Trainer Narendra Lagad (COEUR DE LION) and Trainer S. Waheed (ZARAK) has been cautioned for bringing their Charges late in the paddock.

Jockey S. Zervan (DJANGO) has been cautioned for giving the saddle late.

RACE NO.6(28) – THE MAHALAKSHMI SPRINT MILLION: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS – 6

After the race, Jockey S. Zervaan (JOAQUIN) reported that approaching 200 metres, his mount had weakened and dropped back. In view of this, the gelding was subjected to Veterinary examination and the Sr. V. O., reported to have asymmetry of right arytenoids (Old case) and have found to be sound.

Jockey S. Zervan (JOAQUIN) has been cautioned for giving the saddle late.

RACE NO.7(29) – THE SIR JAMSETJEE JEEJEEBHOY (VI BART) TROPHY-DIVISION II : (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

At the request of the Trainer Narendra Lagad, RISING POWER was examined in the stable area on 09/12/2022 and was found to be sore with swelling on right hock, as such the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

At the start, EATON SQUARE (Jockey Suraj Narredu, dr.3) jumped inwards onto NIRVANA (Jockey P. S. Chouhan, dr. 2) thereafter, CALIPH (Jockey Bhawani Singh, dr. 1) leaned outwards thereby forcing NIRVANA and EATON SQUARE outwards. At this juncture, BELIEVE (Jockey D. R. Shubham, dr. 5) shifted in thereby bumping and forcing SUPREME SPIRIT (Jockey Antony Raj S., dr. 4) inwards. Due to this incident, SUPREME SPIRIT and EATON SQUARE had to be checked. Jockey Bhawani Singh and Jockey D. R. Shubham have been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey Antony Raj S. reported that his horse was running green.

RACE NO. 8 (30) – BETWAY INDIAN 1000 GUINEAS (GRADE 1): (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

At the start, SWEET EMOTION (Jockey N. S. Parmar, dr. 5) jumped inwards and went across FAITH,(Jockey P. Trevor, dr. 4) who was marginally slow to begin.

After the race, FAITH and KING’S RANSOM were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO. 9 (31) – THE SPORT EX CONSULTANCY TROPHY-DIVISION II : (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

At the request of the Trainer Sanjay Kolse, ESFIR was examined in the stable area by the Sr. V.O. on 11/12/2022 and found to have Upper Respiratory Tract Infection as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds.

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of SUSSING (App. A. S. Peter) and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, RED RIOT and SUSSING were trotted at their stables and found to be sound.

Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait (CAPRIFILA) has been cautioned for bringing the horse late in the paddock.

Jockey P. Trevor (INTENSE BELIEF) has been cautioned for giving the saddle late.

RACE NO. 10 (32) – THE SECRET STAR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

LION KING (Jockey N. K. Ashish, dr. 2) reared up as the start was effected thereby losing considerable ground. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show to satisfaction of the starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

FARAHNOUSH (Jockey Vishal N. Bunde, dr. 10) planted in the stall taking no practical part in the race. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the starter, before next accepting to race.

At the start, COGNOSCO (Jockey Neeraj Rawal, dr. 3) was observed to have jumped out slowly losing about 2 lengths.

Approaching the 300 mtrs, WALSHY (Jockey S. J. Sunil) shifted out thereby forcing RED CARNATION (App. Mustakim Alam) outwards. Jockey S. J. Sunil has been cautioned.

After the race, RED CARNATION was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

After the race, at the request of the Stipendiary Stewards WALSHY was examined by the Sr. V.O. and found to be lame by left fore. After the first aid treatment the gelding was sent in an ambulance to the Equine hospital for further diagnosis and treatment.

Jockey Amyn Merchant (DOWSABEL) has been cautioned for giving the saddle late.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2^nd & 3^rd, viz. TRULY EPIC & LAZARUS and the special samples of EATON SQUARE(7^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

The urine and blood samples of the IRON AGE (Winner – 6^th race), KING’S RANSOM (Winner – 8^th race), THUNBERG (2^nd place – 8^th race) and DANGEROUS (3^rd place – 8^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORT :

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING OF “FLASHING FAMOUS” DURING THE PUNE MEETING 2022 :

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday 11th December 2022 having considered all the papers and proceedings placed before them and having heard the submissions made by Trainer H. J. Antia and the Stipendiary Stewards. The Stewards of the Club were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer H. J. Antia as he had contravened the Calendar Notification and hence held him guilty of inconsistent running and reversal of form of his charge FLASHING FAMOUS, wherein the filly had shown no form during the just concluded Pune Meeting 2022 and in her very first start at current Mumbai Meeting the filly has come out and won. Further the Stewards having considered Trainer H. J. Antia’s past record in similar matters, decided to fine him a sum of Rs. 25,000/- and warned him for the future.

RACE NO. 19 – THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE TROPHY (DIST.1800 MTRS) RUN ON 4^TH DECEMBER 2022.

FAIRMONT was examined by the Sr. V. O. on 5th December 2022 and was found to be lame due to an injury on her left hock. As such the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
